I, the son of Yang Guo, abducted Zhang Sanfeng across the heavens
Chapter 603: Received the Fruition Status in Front of the Buddha
"Great! This time, Prince Hua and King Buddha have traveled to the four continents. All realms are aware of the statement of our Great Tang. This is a great achievement for all ages! You are the great contributors to the Great Tang!"
Yang Jian sighed as he held the pass that Tang Seng had returned to him.
"We have relied on the help of the gods and Buddhas and the reputation of the Tang Dynasty. I am ashamed that we, the master and the disciples, have only made a small contribution." Tang Seng clasped his hands together, bowed slightly, and said modestly: "Of course, the process of obtaining the scriptures is still very important."
"Your Majesty, you are very polite. I am fortunate to see the spread of Buddhism to the East before I die. It is the harmony of destiny and I have made this journey." Yang Jian had also been on the journey to obtain Buddhist scriptures once. When establishing a protected area for the coexistence of humans and demons, he had negotiated with the demon race on behalf of the human race together with the Three Holy Emperors of the Huoyun Cave.
He felt at that time that his life was worth it.
I didn't expect that I would live to see Tang Seng bring back the sky from the West.
This time, Yang Jian's achievements in both civil and military affairs made him a commendable monarch. In the future, his name will be listed alongside those of Yao, Shun, Yu and Tang in history books, making him a wise monarch praised by all generations.
"Besides the Buddha King and Hua, um, Old Prince Sun, there are three others. The Buddha King can introduce one or two of them."
"As ordered. This is the monster from the Quicksand River. It was originally the general who rolled up the curtains in the Heavenly Palace. Because of a mistake, it was banished to the mortal world by the Jade Emperor. Every morning and evening, it is tortured by thousands of swords piercing its heart. The pain is unbearable, so it eats humans to relieve its hunger.
"I was enlightened by my master, the ancestor of this dynasty, Yang Guigong, and stayed to serve as a guardian for the pilgrims. After being recognized by Master Sun, he can be called Yang Gong's registered disciple, and is my uncle."
"Okay, okay, Elder Sha, please, please." Yang Jian was embarrassed. If I had known that you two had this relationship, I would have asked a question. He recognized Yang Gui as his ancestor. This person was Yang Gui's registered disciple. Asking this question himself was like asking about his ancestor.
Fortunately, Monk Sha was also an official, so he did not make it difficult for Yang Jian. He put his hands together, bowed and said, "Sha Wujing thanks your Majesty."
"Okay, okay, then who is this?" Yang Jian looked at the pretty boy standing behind Tang Seng.
People are visual animals. No matter what, the appearance and demeanor of Prince Dragon make people feel good about him.
"This is the Third Prince of the Dragon King of the West Sea. He burned the night-shining pearl in the palace in anger, and the old Dragon King reported him to heaven for disobedience. He was originally going to be killed on the Dragon Platform, but was later rescued by Guanyin Bodhisattva and landed in Yingchoujian, also waiting for the pilgrim to protect him. I accepted him as my apprentice."
After Tang Seng introduced Prince Long, Yang Jian stood in awe.
Those emperors liked to call themselves the true dragon emperor, and the word "dragon" was even placed before the word "sky", which shows the respect the royal family had for the dragon.
This time it was Yang Jian's turn to bow. He clasped his hands together and bowed deeply, "It is a great honor for me to meet a real dragon."
Prince Long also returned the greeting, "Your Majesty is too polite. I am a disciple of the Buddha King of the Tang Dynasty, and I can also be called a minister of the Tang Dynasty. How dare I accept your Majesty's gift? This time I came to the Tang Dynasty, there is no tribute. I will only use my original body to dance with the dragon in the Tang Dynasty, and guarantee that the country will have good weather and good harvests within ten years."
"Okay, okay, thank you Real Dragon, thank you Prince Dragon." Yang Jian's eyes lit up. He didn't expect that just coming up to talk would bring him such a benefit.
Although Yang Gui had made many changes to the new Tang Dynasty, it was still an agricultural society. In an agricultural society, the most important thing was the balance of climate and water resources to ensure the yield of crops.
This is the foundation of a country.
Prince Long was very impatient. Without waiting for the greeting to be completed, he let out a dragon roar and transformed into a hundred-foot-long silver-white jade dragon. He flew into the sky and circled above the imperial palace. The ordinary people below could see him clearly and they all knelt on the ground to worship the real dragon.
This alone would ensure that the Yang family would survive for more than a hundred years. When the newly established Yang Tang Dynasty began to decline in the future, those ambitious people would have to think about it. The real dragon hovering over the Taiji Palace was enough to deter their ambitions for a while.
Not long after, Prince Dragon had flown around the capital city of Chang'an, integrating his true dragon aura into the fortune of the Tang Dynasty. This was enough to ensure that there would be no major natural disasters in the Tang Dynasty for the next ten to twenty years.
After circling the arena once, the Dragon Prince landed and bowed to Tang Monk, Sun Wukong, and Yang Jian: "Master, Grand Master, Your Majesty, I have accomplished your mission."
"Okay, okay, Prince Dragon, thank you for your hard work. Please, please." Yang Jian then turned his gaze to the last one, the giant pig demon.
Since the end of the Sui and Tang dynasties decades ago, he has seen many gods and monsters in Chang'an City, so he does not have any discrimination against Zhu Bajie.
"Who is this elder?"
"This was the Marshal of the 80,000 Tianhe Navy in the Heavenly Court, the leader of the Four Saints of the North Pole, the Heavenly God, and the Marshal Tianpeng. Later, because he violated the Heavenly Law, he was slashed by the Jade Emperor on the Immortal Beheading Platform and sent to the afterlife. When he was reincarnated, he mistakenly took the animal path and was reincarnated as a pig. Later, he became a land god like me, and we went to the West together."
"Greetings, Your Majesty." Zhu Bajie chuckled and took out two pills. "Your Majesty, I am practicing the Nine-Turn Great Rejuvenation Pill Method. Although I am not an expert in alchemy, I know a thing or two. These two pills, one can extend your life by fifty years, and the other can protect you from all diseases. I present them to Your Majesty as tribute."
Although they are all in the officialdom, a veteran like Zhu Bajie is completely different from Tang Monk, Sun Wukong, and Sha Monk. Yang Jian feels like he is in spring breeze and thinks that it is no wonder that emperors in ancient times liked treacherous ministers.
Who wouldn't like this? Loyal minister, loyal minister, can you also take out some longevity pills?
Yang Jian happily accepted the two pills. This was not a foul. Although the emperor was not allowed to cultivate immortality, it was no problem to extend his life a little. It was just like giving Yang Jian a piece of immortal grass.
Of course, under normal circumstances, after Yang Jian had extended his life, it would not be allowed to extend his life again. However, this time the pilgrim group returned with good luck, which was also the credit of the ruler of the Tang Dynasty, the country that initiated the pilgrims, and he should be rewarded.
Although the Heavenly Dao will not give it directly, because it is now outside the Chaos chatting with a group of saints, but the Heavenly Dao will not stop it, allowing this holy emperor who can be compared with Yao, Shun, Yu and Tang in human history to live another fifty years.
Now even Yang Yong’s grandson was at a loss.
The Emperor outlasted my grandfather and my father, and now it seems that even I can’t outlast him.
But there was nothing he could do. As long as Yang Jian was alive, no one could overthrow his rule. There was no other way. As for the immortals, he had Yang Jian as his ancestor. If anyone dared to use immortal magic to target the emperor of the Tang Dynasty, the way of heaven would definitely intervene.
What if ordinary mortal means were used?
All those who had experienced the great contention between the Sui and Tang dynasties died, leaving only Yang Jian. In order to keep himself healthy, Yang Jian practiced the boxing and internal strength passed down to him by Yang Gui. Now he has almost the same strength as the Yang and Tang versions of Wu Yunzhao.
In other words, the only human being in the world who can fight against millions of beasts is the founding emperor of the Tang Dynasty. Who dares to rebel, and who can rebel?
Yang Jian's era could last another fifty years. After the pilgrims met with the Emperor of Tang, the five of them attended the state banquet. At the banquet, they talked about the most important things on the journey. The most important thing was not how many monsters they had killed.
In fact, apart from the great war between saints and the protected area where humans and demons coexist harmoniously, Yang Jian was not interested in other disasters that blocked his way, even if they were the Three Corpses of Quasi-Saints, because they would not affect the Tang Dynasty anyway.
What Tang Seng and his companions narrated was mainly a series of deeds they did along the way, mainly helping the residents along the way to get rid of evil spirits, get rid of corrupt officials, and help the local people to lead a better life.
Along the way, the contents of the pass documents were mostly related to the counties and countries they had helped.
The pilgrimage brought the Tang Dynasty's advanced systems and governing philosophies to these small countries, allowing people who were hundreds of thousands or millions of miles away to also benefit from the Tang Dynasty.
This made Yang Jian very happy.
"Okay, okay, come here, draft an order to build temples and pagodas to spread the Dharma and preserve the scriptures from now on, to celebrate the Buddha's achievement in obtaining the scriptures, and to spread the scriptures throughout the world."
After Yang Jian delivered his order, he leaned over and said to Tang Seng and Sun Wukong, "Well, my two princes, when translating scriptures, you must make sure they are in line with our national conditions."
"Don't worry, Your Majesty. We won't have to worry about that." Tang Seng, Sun Wukong and Yang Jian showed a tacit smile.
This land of China has always emphasized that the imperial power is higher than the divine power. Unlike other countries where politics and religion are combined, secular power is the highest power. Although it is said that due to the ancient background, whether it is the divine power or the imperial power as the ruler, it is not good for the people under the rule.
But in comparison, imperial power is much better than divine power.
Tang Seng did not believe in the Mahayana Buddhism that Tathagata had brought up, and Sun Wukong was even more of a daredevil. They did not care whether they were preaching in the East in its original form. It was not the will of heaven that the West would flourish, and it was not the will of heaven that the Dharma would spread throughout the four continents.
As long as they can integrate the harmless part of the Buddhist scriptures that encourages people to be good into the daily life of the Tang Dynasty, and promote it popularly so that the people of the Tang Dynasty will treat it as a folk legend and always mention it, that will be enough.
This is equivalent to completing the task of spreading the scriptures, and enabling the Tang Dynasty to benefit from the good fortune of the Western Paradise.
This is why Yang Jian supported the journey to the West.
Otherwise, no one will do anything that will benefit the country. It is destiny that the West will prosper, and it is not necessary for the Tang Dynasty to obtain Buddhist scriptures. We can just find a holy monk from other countries to go there to obtain Buddhist scriptures.
The five members of the pilgrim group were all immortals, and since they had returned from the pilgrimage, they were not reluctant to show some miracles. With the help of their magic, two temples, one in the east and one in the west outside Chang'an, and an 18-story pagoda were completed within two days.
This was just an auxiliary spell they cast to make the craftsmen feel involved. Otherwise, Sun Wukong would just blow some magic and these two Buddhist temples would be completed.
After inspection, the craftsmen found that the two Buddhist temples and pagodas built in two days were actually more solid than the previous buildings that took more than ten years to build. They couldn't help but exclaim that the holy monk's Dharma was boundless.
The five masters and apprentices, mainly Tang Monk and Sun Wukong, translated the scriptures. During this period, Yang Jian also ordered his men to write a "Preface to the Holy Teachings", which was mainly used to praise the merits of the five members of the pilgrimage group and spread it throughout the country.
For a time, the five members of the pilgrimage became famous throughout the Tang Dynasty.
The old immortals translated the scriptures quickly, and within ten days, the translation of the Tripitaka was completed and handed over to the Ministry of Rites for safekeeping by the court. The real scriptures were not returned to the Great Leiyin Temple as in the original book, but were directly enshrined in the Sutra Pavilion of the two pagodas.
"My two princes, my three elders, I wish to set up five tablets in the two temples for the people to worship and make him the true god who protects this dynasty. Is that okay?"
Before leaving, Yang Jian held Tang Seng and Sun Wukong's hands for the last time and asked.
He was reluctant to leave, as he knew that the pilgrims would never see each other again in this life. From Yang Jian's perspective, Tang Seng and Sun Wukong, two founding officials who were once very familiar to him and the last to be familiar to him, were finally leaving him.
Although it is not passing away, it is no different from death.
Even with a life span of nearly 150 years and a career as an emperor of nearly 100 years, it is difficult to view it calmly.
"Of course. But our titles and Buddhahood are not decided yet, so we cannot set up tablets. How about this, Your Majesty, you can first make a clay statue, carve a blank tablet, and place it on a high platform. When we attain Buddhahood in the West, our titles will naturally appear on the tablet." Tang Seng bowed and said.
"Okay, that's good." The old emperor, who was nearly 150 years old, had tears in his eyes.
"Your Majesty, take care. We will take our leave!" After saying this, the five members of the pilgrimage group took off into the air and flew towards the west.
The emperor and the people of the Tang Dynasty all watched and saw him off from below, and were reluctant to leave for a long time.
West Tianling Mountain, Daleiyin Temple.
"Greetings to the Buddha." The five members of the pilgrimage group bowed to the founder of Buddhism.
"No need to be polite, holy monk." Tathagata personally came down from the lotus platform to greet him, holding Tang Seng's arms with both hands to prevent him from bowing, "Holy monk, today's merits and deeds are complete. After you are appointed, you will be the leader of the Western Heaven. You and I are equal, there is no need to distinguish between superior and inferior."
"Okay, thank you, Buddha." Tang Seng was just being polite to Tathagata. He had never worshipped Tathagata before. He always worshipped Old Buddha Yang Gui. Who would have the heart to worship a Buddha who was about to retire?
Then the Tathagata ascended to sit on the lotus platform, and thunderous sounds spread throughout the Lingshan Mountain in the West. The Buddha said: "Going to the West to obtain the scriptures will encounter 365 difficulties, which is the number of the Zhoutian cycle. If you complete the journey, your merits will be great, and you will have a positive result.
The holy monk of the Tang Dynasty, Master Tripitaka, has been seeking the sutras for ten generations, and his virtues are perfect. His merits are great, and he has been promoted to a higher position and a higher fruition. You are the Sandalwood Merit Buddha. The Great Sage Equaling Heaven, the Monkey King, has been following the way of heaven, protecting the upper and lower, and has been complete from beginning to end. He has been promoted to a higher position and a higher fruition. You are the Fighting and Victory Buddha.
Sha Wujing, your sins have been offset, you have been enlightened by the Heavenly Dao, you have protected the Dharma and obtained the scriptures, and you have made great achievements. You will be named the Golden Body Arhat Bodhisattva; the Third Prince of the Jade Dragon of the West Sea, you will be named the Eight Divisions of Heavenly Dragons and Broad Power Bodhisattva; Zhu Wuneng, you have completed the Nine-Turn Pill, and you will be named the Pure Altar Envoy Bodhisattva.
