Chapter 759 The Oath of Heaven
This is what Xuanzang said about using merit to offset sins.

But everyone understands that it is easy to commit sins but difficult to gain merits, right?

If merit were so easy to acquire, heaven and earth would not have planned a catastrophe to resolve the cause and effect of all living beings.

But no matter what, this method is always a thought and hope for Huiren.

After talking to the little monk, Xuanzang sat down as if he had realized something, ignoring the noisy crowd around him. The conversation with the "evil Asura" just now made Xuanzang gain a lot, and he vaguely grasped his own way of good and evil.

Xuanzang was meditating, but the people around him were talking about it! The behavior of the "evil asura" holding up the butcher knife and slaughtering Buddhist disciples was somewhat shocking, but the evil deeds of Buddhist disciples were even more shocking.

In fact, among Buddhist disciples, such behavior as that of the Iron Horse Temple is no secret in the eyes of the big powers. Now, the great catastrophe of heaven and earth has come, and the calamity is pervasive in the earthly immortal world. It is not surprising that Buddhist disciples who are bewitched by the calamity are committing such evil acts.

Of course, this was fortunately during the great catastrophe of heaven and earth. Otherwise, with the evil deeds of Buddhist disciples, the human race would have destroyed Buddhism long ago.

The human race is the protagonist of the world. When the great catastrophe of the world comes, naturally many humans will have to respond to it. The monks of the Iron Horse Temple are filled with the aura of catastrophe, and it is obvious that they are already in the catastrophe. Therefore, what the monks of the Iron Horse Temple do is also in line with the great catastrophe of the world. Otherwise, without the intervention of the "evil Shura", the Tang Dynasty would have flattened the Iron Horse Temple long ago.

In recent years, the Tang Dynasty has suppressed Buddhism openly and covertly because the path of practice of Buddhist disciples, where one thought can lead to Buddhahood or the other can lead to demons, is really terrifying. If a great Buddhist monk has a slightly biased mind, once he is infected by the calamity, he will fall into the path of demons.

Ever since the catastrophe began, too many Buddhist disciples have fallen into the evil path.

The reason why the Tang Dynasty established an imperial master was partly to use the Imperial Master's Office to restrain the cultivators from all sides.

In fact, the fact that the "evil Shura" traveled across more than ten states and destroyed nearly a hundred Buddhist temples, and the Tang Dynasty remained indifferent, shows the Tang Dynasty's dissatisfaction with Buddhism. With the Tang Dynasty's ruling power over its territory, it is impossible for it not to know about the "evil Shura"'s actions, and it is impossible for it not to catch the "evil Shura". But the Tang Dynasty still did not care, which means that in the eyes of the Tang Dynasty, the Buddhist disciples killed by the "evil Shura" were all people who deserved to be killed.

Many Buddhas, Bodhisattvas, Arhats, Vajras, and Kālaas all felt agitated after hearing Xuanzang's words! Since the two saints founded Buddhism, Buddha is Buddhism and Buddha is Buddha. Now that Xuanzang has separated Buddha from Buddhism, how can they not feel a ripple in their hearts!
Buddhism has three Buddhas in the past, present and future who hold the authority of Buddhism, and Xuanzang separated Buddhism from Buddha, which challenged the authority of the three Buddhas. The great catastrophe of heaven and earth is at a critical moment, so where will Xuanzang's actions lead the catastrophe?

Although many Buddhas in Lingshan were not at peace, they also felt in their hearts that what Xuanzang said was right.

Buddha is the way of nature, the doctrine that guides people to be good, and the way of Tathagata is inconceivable. Buddha can be realized but not cultivated. To cultivate is to become a Buddha, which is to seek. To realize is to understand the nature, which is to know. To cultivate is to control the nature through practice, to realize the way is to practice with the nature, the awakened one creates the rules from the heart, and the cultivator controls the heart with the rules. Buddha is the true Buddha in the heart, Buddha is not Buddhism, not Buddha.

But according to Xuanzang, how many of the countless Buddhas on Lingshan Mountain are real Buddhas? Take the lineage of the Happy Buddha for example. They are promiscuous and filthy, and even Buddhist disciples despise them. If it weren't for the fact that Chang Er Ding Guang Xian betrayed Jiejiao and made great contributions during the Conferred Gods Tribulation and was protected by the two Buddhist saints, he would have been expelled from Buddhism long ago. Without the protection of the two Buddhist saints, how could Chang Er Ding Guang Xian be qualified to become a Buddha. But now, Chang Er Ding Guang Xian is the Happy Buddha sitting on a high platform, worshipped by incense! In fact, even within Buddhism, people agree that Buddha is not Buddhism!
After Jin Chanzi's ten reincarnations, he had little contact with Buddhism. Even Duobao Tathagata did not know why Xuanzang would have such thoughts.

In fact, as a wise Buddha of Buddhism, Tathagata understands that Xuanzang Buddha is not equal to the theory of Buddhism, which is actually correct! Buddha is practice, realm, and Taoism, but it is definitely not a sect. Buddhism is just an organization based on the Dharma. Although Tathagata knows right from wrong, as the supreme Buddha of Buddhism, he will never speak out to support Xuanzang.

Xuanzang sat in this position for a full nine days.

As the sun rose and shone brightly, Xuanzang, who had attained enlightenment for nine days, slowly opened his eyes.

Nine days ago, Xuanzang's shocking words caused dissatisfaction among many monks and believers who followed Xuanzang to practice. In nine days, many of these monks and believers dispersed! However, some believers were more determined to follow Xuanzang to practice, including Huiren from the Iron Horse Temple.

Xuanzang slowly opened his eyes, his eyes sparkling and his spirits high.

During these nine days, Xuanzang not only gained many insights, but also determined the direction of this great catastrophe of heaven and earth.

The idea of ​​the Way of Heaven that grew in Xuanzang's heart only prompted Xuanzang to complete the great catastrophe of heaven and earth and resolve the cause and effect of all living beings.

Therefore, Xuanzang only needs to follow the trend of heaven and earth to complete the great catastrophe of heaven and earth.

As for whether Xuanzang went west to Lingshan to seek Buddhist scriptures or to spread Buddhism, Heavenly Dao didn't care. Heavenly Dao wanted Xuanzang to go west, and wanted those creatures who were entangled in cause and effect and had committed serious sins to perish on his way. After Xuanzang understood this, he naturally knew what to do next!
Looking around at the believers, Xuanzang stepped forward, raised his head and shouted: "Heaven is above, the lives of the world today are entangled in cause and effect, and sins are intertwined. Xuanzang wishes to spread the Dharma and preach the truth to show good and evil. Heaven will judge it."

As soon as Xuanzang finished speaking, a thunderclap sounded in the void. Obviously, the Heavenly Dao had fulfilled Xuanzang's oath! At the moment when the Heavenly Dao fulfilled the oath, the crazy thoughts in Xuanzang's heart instantly calmed down and no longer affected Xuanzang's mind.

The believers around Xuanzang were also distracted by the sudden thunder. However, Xuanzang's oath to the heaven affected more than just the believers around him! The monkey clones in Huaguo Mountain, Tianpeng in Yunzhan Cave in Fuling Mountain, Xiaobailong in Yingchoujian, and Juanlian General in Liusha River all looked towards Nanshanbuzhou the moment Xuanzang made his oath to the heaven. Because, at that moment, they all had a thought in their hearts: they were about to enter the calamity.

Of course, it wasn’t just the few people who were destined to have the calamity who were shocked; the Lingshan Buddhist high-ranking officials were also somewhat confused.

Guanyin Bodhisattva is the main executor of the great catastrophe of heaven and earth appointed by Buddhism. Because Buddhism and the human race have an agreement, the first few tribulations of the great catastrophe planned by Guanyin Bodhisattva are all in the human race. Now Xuanzang has directly entered the catastrophe with the oath of heaven, making Guanyin Bodhisattva's arrangement completely useless, which really gives the Buddhist leaders a headache.

The great calamity of heaven and earth cannot be avoided by the human race. Now, all the benefits that Buddhism promised to the human race have gone down the drain, so how can the human race let it go? If the human race does not cooperate with Buddhism, the Buddhist leaders dare not imagine what the great calamity of heaven and earth will evolve into.
