Chapter 731 Searching for Traces

Chapter 731 Searching for Traces
Harry smiled at these former neighbors and whispered in a voice that only his friends could hear: "This family's lawn mower was bought at a discount in the supermarket. It always gets stuck and sometimes catches fire. The house that Sirius bought is over here. Mrs. Figg, who originally lived in that house, was also a member of the Order of the Phoenix. I only found out about this two years ago... There is a small playground over there. For a while, my cousin Dudley and his friends always sneaked in to damage public property, smoke, and throw stones at passing cars."

Ginny and Ron listened carefully.

Hagrid looked around curiously, and any residents who met his eyes would quickly move away.

Loren and Hermione were lost in thought, wondering why the Felicis Felicis would let Harry bring them here.

The houses on the streets of Little Whinging were very close together. A few blocks ahead and two turns later, you'll arrive at the Dursleys' house. There are still owl claw marks on the mailbox in front of the door.

Under the gaze of several people, Harry walked up and rang the doorbell.

The person who opened the door was a burly or obese middle-aged man with blond hair, a big beard and small eyes. He seemed to have not expected that it was Harry who knocked on the door. He was stunned for a moment, then made an angry expression and shouted in a rough voice: "Boy! How can you take your weird friends without my permission--"

"I just came over to take a look."

Harry interrupted him and said, "I'm here to visit Aunt Petunia. I'll be leaving soon and I won't be having lunch here."

This gentle attitude seemed to stimulate Vernon more than the angry retort. His almost nonexistent neck bulged slightly, and his crimson face turned red. He turned his head as if he wanted to call his wife in the room, paused, and made way for the burly body blocking the door: "Come in."

Harry didn't seem to have expected this, and stood there in a daze until Vernon roared, "What else do you want? Do you need me to say that word? Come in!"

Harry inexplicably found this tone pleasing to the ear. He gestured to the people around him and headed into the room.

The house was not luxuriously decorated, but it was full of life, tidy and clean. It was obvious that the hostess had put a lot of effort into it. I walked through the entrance hall and followed Harry to the living room. Further away was the kitchen and dining room. I could faintly hear the sounds of spatulas colliding and video games.

Loren was casually looking around the room when a sudden flash of light in the cupboard caught his attention, his eyes flickered and he studied it for a moment before realizing what it was, and he seemed to remember something interesting, turning to look at the burly Vernon with interest.

Vernon was staring at Hagrid, who was the last to enter the room. Six years ago, it was this half-blood giant who came to pick up Harry. He had left a deep impression on him. It was not until everyone was seated that he called out to the room in a muffled voice, "Petney, Petunia!"

"What's up? Who's here?"

A somewhat shrill female voice gradually approached, and a thin blonde woman came out of the kitchen and hurried to the door. Seeing the group of wizards sitting there, she seemed very surprised, and her light-colored eyes widened slightly.

"Aunt Petunia."

Harry was the first to say hello. His voice was gentle and polite, as if he was greeting a professor at the school. It was unclear whether it was the effect of the Felicis Felix or because he was just in a peaceful mood at the moment.

Penny wiped her hands on her apron, feeling a little nervous and embarrassed. "Harry, you wrote that you would not be back for the summer vacation. We couldn't contact you, so we didn't prepare for your birthday."

Harry shook his head and didn't care: "When I lived in Privet Drive, I didn't celebrate my birthday either."

"..."

Penny didn't say anything, her posture became more restrained, and her expression was complicated.

Harry couldn't help feeling a little dazed when he saw this scene. When did Aunt Petunia start to change? Was it when Sirius moved in a few years ago, or when he saw him just now?

"Will you come back later?"

"It's not clear yet."

"Because of that demon...demon king?"

"Voldemort," Harry whispered, with a calmness and gentleness that surprised even himself. "Voldemort has been defeated, and normalcy has been restored in the wizarding world."

"then you……"

"But he has not been arrested or eliminated yet. Considering his hatred for me, in order to avoid implicating people nearby, he can only stay at the school temporarily this summer."

"This is Ginny, the girlfriend I made." Petunia glanced at the girl with a tense face and obviously nervous. A color that had never been seen before appeared in her light-colored eyes. She noticed her red hair and seemed to have thought of something, nodding slightly at her.

"..."

The sound of their conversation echoed in the room, just like an ordinary aunt and nephew, with occasional silence, but all previous moments of interaction were gentle. Some difficult emotions seemed to pass away quietly in the calm conversation, not forgetting all the unpleasant forgiveness, nor abandoning the past completely.

This conversation lasted for more than ten minutes. Just as Harry was about to stand up and say goodbye, he suddenly heard a muttering.

"Then you won't come back later?"

The one who spoke was Dudley, who was standing at the door. If Vernon could be barely described as burly, he was completely obese. The fat he lost through boxing and dieting last year had doubled back. If it weren't for the height limit of ordinary humans, Harry had no doubt that he could grow to the size of Grawp.

He seemed to have been listening for a while, and the sound of the game next door had stopped ten minutes ago.

"what?"

"I said, are you never coming back?"

Harry looked at his cousin Dudley in surprise: "I thought you hated me and didn't want me to come back."

Dudley was a little embarrassed: "You saved my life."

"You can't say that. Dementors will only suck away your soul."

"Anyway I should thank you, and happy birthday to you."

"..."

The conversation between the two became even briefer. It seemed that for Dudley, expressing such implicit emotions was more difficult than exercising and dieting. In the end, he was speechless. He could only blush and take the initiative to extend his hand to shake hands with Harry.

So Harry stood up and said goodbye, and the Dursleys saw them out with mixed feelings.

"Hua Hua Hua..."

Three obviously overweight people walked on the gravel driveway, and the hard soles of their shoes rubbed against the stones, making heavy footsteps.

Before they parted completely, Loren stopped and called the pillar of the Dursley family: "Mrs. Dursley."

"what?"

"There's a bottle of potion hidden in the cupboard next to the corridor, right? That's something for wizards."

Loren looked at the stunned Dursley family, and thought of the professor's bad taste, and couldn't help but smile: "Perhaps your memory is a little fuzzy, but I can remind you that the bottle of magic potion hidden in the cabinet is just a diet pill. It won't have any embarrassing side effects. You can rest assured to give it to the two Mr. Dursleys."

"I, I know."

"..."

About ten minutes later, in an empty lane in Little Whinging, there was a sudden explosion of air.

The next location was determined by Loren, or rather guided by the Felicis, also in London.

Spider End Alley.
