Chapter 318 Disagreement
Without Voldemort's obstruction.

Dumbledore easily broke the magical barrier of the Gaunt mansion.

Quirrell was kept outside by the members of the Order of the Phoenix, and only Harry and Dumbledore entered this historic and dilapidated cottage.

"Clean it up." Harry waved his wand and politely cleaned the room that had not been cleaned for a long time.

Dumbledore held his wand and scanned the room like a scanner, from one corner to the other.

Suddenly, just as the wand pointed at a piece of floor, Dumbledore's expression changed, and he quickly said: "Appear!"

A blue light shot out from the wand, like a stage searchlight, illuminating the floor which was no different from the surrounding area.

The originally plain wooden floor, under the illumination of blue light, appeared like a chameleon shaking its scales in a hidden environment, and it "clicked" and turned into a square iron box.

As the blue light grew brighter, the iron box slowly opened and a ring rose from the box.

The ring band is made of two cobras connected head to tail, with scales outlined in brass that look lifelike, and a black gemstone rests on the top of the band.

Even under the dazzling blue light, the black gem was not assimilated by the light at all, but instead looked even deeper.

What's strange is that it can actually reflect the figures of Harry and Dumbledore directly despite the strong light.

Harry narrowed his eyes, automatically blocking out the whispers of the black gem in his mind.

Dumbledore's eyes seemed to have lost focus. He stretched out his hand and stepped towards the ring, muttering a name, "Ariana, Ariana..."

When the black gem ring "saw" Dumbledore's reaction, it humanely gave up the conversation with Harry and flashed a strange light at Dumbledore.

Dumbledore's eyes became even more confused, and the light from the wand in his hand flickered, and it seemed like it would go out in the next moment.

Harry looked at the performance of the two and a hint of sneer slowly appeared on the corners of his mouth.

The moment Dumbledore touched the flashing ring of "Joy", the originally confused Dumbledore's eyes suddenly became brighter than the lighthouse in the harbor.

He gathered a huge amount of magic power in his hands and instantly imprisoned the Gaunt family ring in mid-air.

"Harry, didn't it say anything to you?" Dumbledore turned around and looked up and down at Harry, who seemed fine.

The moment he looked directly at Gaunt's ring, he seemed to see his dead sister resurrected.

Moreover, an absurd yet inexplicably believable idea arose in his mind: with the power of this stone, Ariana Dumbledore could definitely be resurrected.

"Yes." Harry said calmly, "A voice reminded me that I can use this ring to resurrect my parents."

“But I refused.”

Dumbledore raised his eyebrows, with a questioning look in his eyes.

"I live well at Uncle Dursley's house. They are my parents." Harry continued:

"The relationship between father and son, mother and son, and brothers is thicker than blood. Bringing the dead back to life will only make the living uncomfortable."

Dumbledore was speechless, then shook his head in self-mockery.

At his age, he can't see things more clearly than a child. He is really going backwards as he gets older.

Dumbledore looked at the Gaunt ring struggling in the air with a complicated expression. The Peverell emblem was clearly visible on the black gemstone.

"One of the Three Deathly Hallows, the Resurrection Stone." Dumbledore looked at the emblem on the gem with a complicated look in his eyes. "Legend has it that it can resurrect the dead."

"But according to legend, Cadmus, who obtained the Resurrection Stone, only summoned the ghost of his lover." Harry walked to Dumbledore and said:

"There is an invisible veil between them. Life and death can never be truly connected."

"Knowing that he had been deceived by the god of death, Cadmus saw his lover suffering in the world of the living. In order to relieve her pain, he committed suicide to remove the curse."

Dumbledore looked at Harry in surprise and asked, "Since you know this legend, do you know the meaning behind it?"

"The Resurrection Stone can revive the dead as ghosts." Harry glanced at Dumbledore and suddenly emphasized, "However, this resurrection ritual cannot allow ghosts to obtain real bodies."

"Also, the ritual requires a sacrifice, and the legend goes that Cadmus sacrificed himself to set his lovers 'free'."

"If we want to revive such a ghost, we will probably need someone who is willing to 'sacrifice'." If the ghost is to have a body, there will probably be more than one person who needs to be 'sacrificed'.

It's a bit like the Impure World Reincarnation in the Naruto world, but more demanding.

Dumbledore didn't say anything. He listened to Harry quietly, his eyes seeming to stay on the gem on Gaunt's ring.

"Mr. Principal, you can try."

Harry spoke softly, his eyes flashing with a dreamy green light, and even the Gaunt Ring that had been struggling stopped moving and listened to Harry's words attentively.

"Those Death Eaters under Voldemort should be willing to do something for you. This would be much more meaningful than spending the rest of your life in Azkaban."

"We won't distort their will. After all, compared to being tortured by Dementors, a moment of death is always more cost-effective."

"Harry." Dumbledore's eyes were deep. "You know too much."

"Since leaving Hogwarts, you have been like a snake entering the Garden of Eden. Your mind is too active."

“You must know that you cannot eat the fruit from the tree.”

Dumbledore pointed his wand at Harry's chest, the blue light at the tip of the wand flickering.

"Headmaster, are you going to silence me?" Harry let Dumbledore point his wand at him, keeping a proper smile on his face. "I just made a suggestion."

"After all, there is no one I want to resurrect."

"If you destroy the Resurrection Stone, Voldemort will certainly not be able to gain power, but you will also lose that once-in-a-lifetime opportunity."

"..."

Dumbledore didn't say anything, he just moved his wand away from Harry's chest, with a struggle in his eyes.

Click!

There was a sudden thunder outside the house.

Dumbledore's expression changed and he pointed the wand in his hand sharply towards the door.

"Mr. Dumbledore, do what you should do, we will hold him back!" Quirrell shouted, and then the sound of explosions of spells colliding with each other continued.

Harry took out his wand and drew a circle on the wall that blocked the sound.

A transparent circular light curtain appeared on the wall, and the scenery outside the house appeared on the light curtain.

Voldemort has returned with some Death Eaters!
Quirrell and members of the Order of the Phoenix are fighting the Death Eaters!

Dumbledore frowned and took a step forward, wanting to join the battle.

However, just as he took a step, the ring on his left hand began to struggle even more violently.

He had to stop and use more magic to confine it.

"Mr. Principal, how about I go out and help?" Harry volunteered, saying, "You know my strength, you don't have to worry about my safety."

Dumbledore said nothing, but his eyes twitched wildly when several members of the Order of the Phoenix narrowly avoided the Killing Curse.

"No." Dumbledore squeezed out the words from between his teeth, as if he had used up all his strength to restrain the ring in his left hand.

"Then how about I help you imprison this ring?"

“…” Dumbledore said nothing, sweat beads appeared on his forehead, but he shook his head stubbornly.

"This won't work, and that won't work either." Harry spread his hands helplessly, "You can't just watch your companions die outside, can you?"

"Still, you are pinning your hopes on Professor Quirrell, whom you do not trust."

"Are you sure he can defeat Voldemort?"

 Gone.
