Chapter 763: Seeing the Essence Through Phenomena

Chapter 763: Seeing the Essence Through Phenomena

However, only people with human eyes can see such a beautiful scene. Others who have undergone eye-specific genetic modification cannot see it.

For example, there are people on several warships who have undergone special cat-eye modifications. When they see the scene, there is no colorful glow, but only light of other wavelengths, such as purple, blue, green, yellow, and mixed colors synthesized from these colors.

Of course, the color of light we see is just an appearance, the result of the intelligent life's photosensitive system and brain sensing. In fact, "light" represents the full range of electromagnetic waves, but we are limited by the biological perspective and cannot get a glimpse of the full picture of nature.

The same is true of the colorful lights that humans see here.

Those of them who have good scientific literacy all know that, in fact, the light in this small universe is not just red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo and violet, but light of all wavelengths, but the human eye can only sense light within certain wavelengths.

There is a saying that goes, what the eyes see is not necessarily true. What the eyes see is not the essence of the world, but only half of the truth and essence that leaks out.

That is to say, the light in this small universe should actually be decomposed into smaller bands of light, that is, light outside the wavelength range of 380mm-780mm.

However, at present, humans have discovered nothing except the colorful light against the dark background. It seems that this small universe is only filled with this kind of light, which is obviously impossible.

As the saying goes, see the essence through the phenomenon, humans naturally know this truth.

Humans must see through the fog to see its essence.

Therefore, in the next moment, the battleship's scientific officer immediately made a judgment, and then adjusted the detector parameters, the receiver, and the display device parameters, allowing the instruments to view this space instead of humans.

Of course, it does not block the colorful light perceived by the human eye, but divides it into bands like other bands of light and displays them on different holographic screens.

As a result, humans have obtained countless projection screen images based on light wave bands.

There are spectral display images of ultraviolet bands, spectral display images of visible light bands, and spectral display images of infrared bands, and the light wave bands of each zone are also subdivided.

In this way, humans have obtained a large number of images divided by wavelengths.

These images are not divided arbitrarily by humans, but are subdivided according to the wave bands of light propagating in space. This is because humans have just discovered that the light emitted by the light source in this small universe has been subdivided, just like humans use a prism to divide visible white light into seven colors of light.

However, the division here is more detailed. The light that was originally unwilling to see was separated by some kind of prism and turned into monochromatic light that crisscrosses the sky.

Humans create images based on these lights.

After completing the spectral mapping, the scientific officer again instructed the staff to image these single spectra, that is, to integrate them all together.

And it is imaged according to full-band light imaging. However, there is also a problem with this kind of imaging, that is, humans cannot see the whole picture at all, even if it is placed in front of humans, because humans can only see "visible light". And even if they can see it, the human brain cannot process information from light imaging outside of visible light.

If the brain is forced to process information outside of visible light, it may randomly feedback information because it has never been exposed to it, causing a metaphysical sense of confusion in the main consciousness and possibly causing errors in the nervous system.

Therefore, if we follow the normal processing method, we should let human creations, that is, instruments and equipment, analyze themselves, and then use some kind of information representation method to display other information outside of visible light, such as using numbers or letters instead.

For example, if we use ABCD instead, what is finally displayed on the holographic screen is a world composed of letters. Humans can indirectly see the original appearance of the world based on their imagination.

This is a limitation of human beings and cannot be solved for the time being, unless some deep genetic modification method is used to transform the human eye into a full-band photoreceptor. Of course, we cannot only modify the eye as the information receiving organ, but also the brain as the information processing organ. Otherwise, there will definitely be problems.

Obviously, although human genetic technology is advanced, it is not advanced enough to transform the brain, a great organ that has existed for billions of years with patches.

What is certain is that if humans can truly transform themselves into a life form that can receive and analyze full-band optical information, it will definitely be a groundbreaking technology. At that time, humans will no longer be humans in the normal sense, but a completely new species.

However, such a transformation is not necessarily a manifestation of higher and stronger evolution, because the imagination of an intelligent race comes from their cognition of the world, and their cognition of the world comes from the information about the world that they intuitively perceive.

For humans, it is mainly visible light.

Perhaps such a transformation would allow humans to become a race with higher talents, but perhaps they would also lose certain racial talents. This involves the essential question of wisdom, a question that humans cannot answer today. So not to mention that there is no such technology, even if there is, humans would not dare to rashly transform themselves.

There have been some signs of the specialized transformation of cat eyes, and currently scientists in human biology are studying this topic. If it is proven that it will have an impact on human talents, then the specialized transformation of information receptor organs will be banned in the future.

Those who have undergone specialized genetic modification will also be modified back, because this is a modification at the genetic level and will be inherited.

It will probably take some time to study and confirm this matter. Currently, we have only stopped the specialization transformation of new information sensing organs. There is no conclusion yet on those who have already undergone the transformation, but judging by the progress of the research, it will be soon.

The reason is that the emergence of gene lock technology, which is also a genetic technology, has accelerated this process. Gene lock technology fills many gaps in human genetic technology and also improves the entire genetic technology tree.

As for other modifications that do not involve information reception organs, they are still as open as before, such as some special parts of the body, there are no restrictions.

Having said that, humans have a different way of observation than the conventional one, which is to use the warship's consciousness link device to feel the changes in the outside world from a third-person perspective.

This kind of observation method was already known to humans after they received the consciousness link device from the awakener, and they had also tried the different feelings brought by that perspective. As for the different feelings brought by this perspective, humans had already adapted to it during the dream event, and it would not bring confusion to humans.
