Chapter 5
Kunlun February 83
There are thirteen futons placed in the middle of the meeting hall of the abbot's courtyard, with a monk sitting on each of the thirteen futons.
The monk in the middle is wearing a red cassock, with a loose-bone crane posture, white eyebrows drooped, and kind eyes half-closed. He is none other than Abbot Juesheng of Shaolin Temple.
There were six monks in yellow cassocks sitting on each side in front of him.On the left, in order, are Jueyun, the first of Wenshu Monastery, Jueguan, the first of Guanyin Monastery, Jueming, the abbot of Zhengjian Hall, Jue Guang, the abbot of Zhengding Hall, Jueru, the abbot of Zhengyu Hall, and Juewen, the abbot of Zhengyi Hall.
The one on the right hand side is No. 1. He is tall, with a straight chest and a straight back. His face is sharp and angular, and his eyes are sharp and majestic, like a sharp sword parked between his eyebrows. Even if there is no threat, it is enough to make people restless and alert. The slightest offense will result in a bloody blow.He is the No. 1 lay monk today and the first Juekong of Samantabhadra Monastery.
The second person from the right has a round face, a broad body, a fat body, a shiny face, and is also the oldest. He is the first Zide of Ksitigarbha Monastery and one of the few remaining Zide monks in Shaolin Temple today. The next three are Juejian, the abbot of Zhengyetang, Jueji, the abbot of Zhengmingtang, and Jueci, the abbot of Zhengjintang. The last one, who is about forty years old, is the youngest among them all. He is the abbot of Zhengsitang and is the only senior monk here.
The 13 people in the meeting hall were silent for a while, each thinking their own thoughts. After a long time, Abbot Juesheng said, "What do you think?"
"I think it is absolutely forbidden for lay monks to change their names." When Juekong spoke, his back was still straight, his hands touching his knees, and his posture was dignified. If you only look at it from the outside, he seems to be more majestic than the leader of a sect.
He continued: "This is discrimination."
"Master Juekong's words are serious." The speaker was Juekuan, the leader of Guanyin Academy.Guanyin Temple is responsible for the internal and external government affairs of the Shaolin Temple, and is divided into the Zhengyu Hall inside the temple and the Zhengyu Hall outside the temple.Among the eight halls in the four courtyards, Jue Guan can be said to hate lay monks the most, and he often makes things difficult for lay monks in various ways. His methods are cunning and ruthless, and his attacks are often bloody, but the victims are helpless against him.The lay monks hated and feared him, so they nicknamed him "Woli Dao".This time, the four-house discussion was jointly initiated by Jue Guan and Jue Ru, the abbot of Zhengyu Hall, aiming to ask lay monks to change their names.
The "Woli Dao" continued: "The official and secular names are for the convenience of management. The Shaolin Temple was originally a place of pure cultivation, but over the years the affairs have been complicated and disturbed the practice. It all depends on the help of the lay monks, and the lay monks cannot do much. Wipe it out. Then it is said that Samantabhadra Temple is well-organized up and down, and it all depends on the hard work of Jue Kongshou."
Juekong said calmly: "Just save these empty words, Jue Guan first seat."
Jue Guan said: "Three months ago, Liao Zhen went to the Zhejiang Public Office, stayed overnight in a prostitute, and lost all his money. He was caught by the beggar gang, and someone was sent to take him home to withdraw money. Two months ago, Ben just came in There was a fight in Shaanxi, and the Huashan sect cut off his nose and sent him back. In both cases, Puxian Yuan gave a lenient sentence. After all, they were lay monks. Ben Gang was young and energetic, and he showed off his bravery. They are really lustful and love gambling. This is not a big deal. They contribute their efforts to the temple and have no intention of Buddha, so why should they impose harsh requirements? Violators will be punished according to the rules. However, outside the temple, some people will ask, are you a real monk? Monk, are you a lay monk?"
"If you don't abide by the rules, you are more than just a lay monk." Juekong said, "He has not returned to his original intention, and some people ask him if he is a layman?"
Jue Guan said: "The pure rules are observed by the righteous monks, and the precepts are also observed by the righteous monks. As long as the lay monks do not break the rules, who cares about the lay monks during the morning and evening sutra lessons? Except for Shaolin, which Zhengxin temple has a righteous monk?" Points? On the contrary, there are many Shaolin monks who do not abide by the rules."
Juekong said: "The quarrel in the temple arises from the distinction between the secular and the orthodox. The leader of Jueguan does not think about how to resolve it. Instead, he wants to distinguish the differences in names. Wouldn't it make the conflict more intense?"
Jue Guan said: "Twenty years ago, old beggar Peng retired from the sword. I went to Jiangxi to congratulate him and talk about old times with him. What do you think he said?" He looked at Juekong and said, "He said that these days, we will see you at Qunfang Tower. I don’t know if I’m here to see a prostitute or to beg for alms. Shaolin Temple is one of the nine great families in the world, and they are no more than disciples in front of the Buddha. In the past ten years, there have been ten monks and nine common people who have violated the rules in the temple. Shaolin Temple is an important place for Buddhism, how can we let it go? Is this disciple insulting the Three Treasures?"
Juekong said: "There are so many monks in the world, how do you know they all come from Shaolin?" Even though "Woli Dao" sneered at him, the leader of the lay monks still looked dignified and his tone was steady and steady, "Hengshan, Tangmen , are there no other monk sects under the jurisdiction of the Nine Families?"
"The monks in other places are much more dignified than I am in Shaolin." Jue Guan said, "It's not complicated for me to raise this case. As long as the lay monks and their disciples put the word 'Sui' in front of the Buddhist title, it means that they follow the lay monks." For example, the abbot of the Right Mind Hall of our monastery originally had the Dharma name Awakening, and changed it to follow Awakening. After that, the lay monks and disciples did not follow the order of "Liao, Ben, Yuan, Ke, Wu" and changed their name to "Feeling, Thought, Practical Consciousness". "One thought is like a dream" and the eight characters are arranged in order. When outsiders hear it, they will naturally know that they are lay monks and will not pursue the rules."
"Why did a lay monk change his name?" The speaker was a middle-aged monk with broad shoulders and a fat body. Although he was shorter than Juekong, he was still tall. You could see the strong muscles under the monk's clothes. In contrast, although his small head is upright, it still looks funny placed on this body.He is Jueji, the abbot of Zhengmingtang, and one of the lay monks. He is Juekong's capable right-hand man and has a brave personality.Because of this personality and his small head that does not match his strong body, he got the nickname "Golden-haired Lion".
"After 50 years of mixed secular life, there is no problem in sharing the ranking of seniority. Guanyinyuan has to ask all the monks to change their names with an order? It is a bit overbearing." "Jin Mao Shi" Jue Ji's voice was loud, and there was even more dissatisfaction in his words. meaning.
The one who always keeps smiling is Jueru, the abbot of Zhengyu Hall.He is in charge of all the rules and regulations in the temple. He is always smiling and everyone in the temple calls him "Smiling Amitabha".He always treats others with humility and is good at dancing. He often corrects his subordinates with a smile when they make mistakes, but does not speak harshly easily.
Just listen to this "Xiaokou Amitabha" Jueru said: "It doesn't matter if you want to change the name of the righteous monk, just put the word 'Shi' in front of the dharma name of the righteous monk. As for the dharma name, it is only for distinction. The monks are both disciples of the temple, and there will be no difference in their treatment and status from now on."
"There is no difference, but there is a difference." The speaker was the abbot of the Mindfulness Hall of Guanyin Yuan. He is the most devoted to Buddhism among the lay monks.Just listen to him say: "Even if you just embroider an extra red thread on the monk's robe, it is separation. Isn't the separation of mind an obstacle to practice?" Unlike the tit-for-tat confrontation between the two leaders, and also different from the aggressiveness of Jue Guan, he said this in a very calm tone. , even a bit worried.
When he was young, he sincerely worshiped the Buddha, but unexpectedly he made a mistake and became a disciple of a lay monk. From then on, he was classified into the sect of lay monks. Most people are in this embarrassing situation, most likely to be in a dilemma, but he has a gentle personality, works hard without complaining, is cautious and careful, and has talents. He can observe people's words and analyze current affairs. The abbot of Zhichengtang is responsible for the government affairs between Shaolin Temple and the nine major families.
Both Zhengyu Tang and Zhengyu Tang are under the jurisdiction of Guanyin Temple, and it is well known that Awakening and Awakening have always been at odds with each other.
Suddenly, a slight snoring sounded, which was very distinct in the hall.Juesheng looked at Zide, the head of Ksitigarbha courtyard.Zide was obese, weighing more than two hundred pounds.Jizoyuan is responsible for all kinds of living expenses, purchasing and construction, and budgetary expenses, which is equivalent to the accounting, finance, and general affairs of other families. It took Zide 40 years of hard work and careful calculation to save a lot of money in the temple, and then he earned a place in the Ksitigarbha Temple. It was not until he was more than sixty years old that he became the head of Ksitigarbha Yuan. This was due to Juekong's recommendation.
Before he became a monk, he was the richest man in Henan. It is said that he had five concubines and had many children. The newest one was married a few years ago. Everyone knew this.If we say that it is the best representative of the extent to which lay monks can be secular, Zide can be said to be an example. If it is worse than him, it will be on the verge of violating the precepts.
Everyone frowned when they saw Zide sleeping.Sitting directly opposite, Chief Juekuan suddenly shouted loudly: "Uncle Zide, run away quickly, Chief Juekong is here!"
Zide suddenly woke up, jumped up, and shouted: "Where? Where is the first seat of Juekong?"
"I'm here!" Juekong said coldly.Only then did Zide realize that he was being teased by Jue Guan, and he sat down with a chubby old face.Although he had been watching for a long time, he was not majestic and did not dare to rebuke him. He was angry at this "sword in the nest" when he heard Abbot Juesheng ask: "What do you think about the change of names of lay monks?"
Zide didn't understand the situation and said hurriedly: "Senior Nephew Juekong is right. Junior Nephew Juekong is right. I see the same thing as him."
Juejian asked: "Does Uncle Zide know whether Chief Juekong is in favor or against?"
Zide was stunned and said hurriedly: "I know, I know."
He said he knew, but from the look on his face, he might have fallen asleep not long after the meeting started.
Jue Ci, the abbot of Zhengjin Hall affiliated to Ksitigarbha Yuan, nicknamed "Iron Rooster", hurriedly covered for Zide: "Uncle Zide and I both think it is inappropriate to change the name."
So far, the five lay monks, Juekong, the leader of the lay monks, Jue Ji, the "Golden-haired Lion", Zi De, who has numerous children and grandchildren, Suo Wen, who sincerely worships the Buddha, and Jue Ci, the "Iron Rooster", have all expressed their denial.Among the seven monks, except for Jue Guan, the head of Guanyin Temple, and his right-hand assistant "Xiaokou Amitabha" Jue Ru, no one spoke.
Abbot Juesheng turned around and asked, "What do you think, Chief Jueyun?"
Jueyun is the head of Wenshu Monastery, and his status is second only to the abbot, so the abbot asked him first.Shaolin Temple is founded on Buddhism, and most of the people in the territory believe in Buddhism. Wenshu Monastery is responsible for collecting classics, teaching martial arts and Buddhism, and arranging various important rituals within the jurisdiction of Shaolin Temple. All monks entering the temple are orthodox monks, and those who have studied martial arts and Buddhism will be given priority. .Although Jueyun was not good at secular affairs, he practiced Buddhism intensively. Although his attitude towards lay monks was not as radical and disgusting as Juekuan's, he also felt that the monks did not worship the Three Jewels, which was weird.
He only heard the cloud say: "There is a difference between the orthodox and the secular. I believe that the rules of practitioners do not need to be applied to lay monks. Everyone has their own method and practices."
Juekong said coldly: "In this case, just let all the lay monks return to the secular world. The lay disciples can still contribute to Shaolin."
Jue Guang, the abbot of Zhengding Hall affiliated to Wenshu Monastery, said: "What should lay disciples do if they become monks?"
Juekong said: "Why don't we ask, monks and monks, why do we distinguish between orthodox and secular? Cultivation is meant to follow one's heart, nature and circumstances, but it seems that only orthodox monks can practice."
Abbot Jueguang was nicknamed "Tongue-pulling Bodhisattva". Although he was a practitioner, his words were the most sarcastic. He immediately said: "If you wholeheartedly devote yourself to the Buddha, Shaolin Temple will naturally accept many people who are destined to do it. But how many lay monks are there for the Buddha?" Come on, Juekong, the leader, don’t you feel confident?”
Juekong said: "Then why not expel the lay monks altogether? The Shaosong controversy is not far away, and Abbot Jueguang will make the same mistake again?"
The problem of orthodox monks and lay monks arises from the rules of Shaolin Temple. After the Kunlun Conference, the Shaolin Temple rested and recovered. As the scale expanded, the affairs in the temple became increasingly complicated.According to the temple regulations, only monks can enter the temple. However, since the monks have become monks and devote themselves to the Buddha, they have less energy and ability to fight in the world and take care of the people. At that time, there were many conflicts among various sects under Shaolin, and it was difficult for Shaolin to stop it. There were also endless disputes with Huashan on the border about the ownership of the "lone cemetery". However, Shaolin, as the number one sect, actually tolerated Huashan many times, until at least Song Zhi fight.
Songshan was originally a major sect. After decades of solid foundation, its power was no longer under Huashan, one of the nine major sects. Naturally, it was unwilling to surrender to Shaolin. At first, the renaming of Songshan to the Songyang sect was just a trigger, but later it became a dispute between Shaosong and Shaosong.
Unexpectedly, a dispute between Shaosong and Shaosong almost pushed Shaolin into a desperate situation. The monk's unscrupulous and humble character made the war often dangerous.Until Songshan soldiers surrounded Shaolin Temple, this thousand-year-old temple was almost destroyed in this battle.
At this critical moment, it was five lay disciples headed by Zhang Qiuchi who rescued Shaolin. However, due to the rule that "non-monks are not allowed to enter the church", these five lay disciples had no choice but to be ordained and enter the church.Zhang Qiuchi, nicknamed "Tie Pen Painting Tide", is a man of both civil and military skills. He planned and planned for Shaolin. Shaolin had a deeper foundation than Songshan, and it didn't take long for him to turn the tide of the war.The Songshan Ju Sect moved to Shandong and never talked about changing its name, and its relationship with Shaolin became increasingly subtle.
These five monks were the beginning of lay monks.Since then, Shaolin's requirements for monks are no longer based on religious beliefs, but based on practical needs. These are lay monks.Zide was good at business and became the head of Ksitigarbha Academy; Jue Wen was good at communication and could distinguish the situation in the martial arts world, and was good at dancing, so he was in charge of the Right Mind Hall.
Since the lay monks came to deal with secular affairs, they were not necessarily loyal to their beliefs. At first, they strictly abided by the precepts. After 50 years of reforms, the difference between the secular and the secular gradually emerged.Nowadays, the disciples accepted by the upright monks are the upright monks, and the disciples accepted by the lay monks are the lay monks.
The fundamental reason why Juekong's proposal to allow lay monks to return to secular life was ultimately unfeasible was still due to the rule that "non-monks are not allowed to enter the church."To climb up in the Shaolin Temple, not to mention the height of the first of the four courtyards and the abbot of the eight halls, even ordinary monks must be ordained. So, even if all lay monks are allowed to return to secular life, do they still need to be ordained in order to enter the church? How can you do business if you don’t attend the church? If lay disciples are allowed to take charge of the four courtyards and eight halls, then the huge Shaolin Temple will fall entirely on lay disciples. Can it still be called a "temple"?
This kind of dispute between morality and secularity was originally an undercurrent, but due to the disappearance of Ling Xin, it officially surfaced.
Among the seven righteous monks at present, the venerable Jueyun leader and the "tongue-pulling Bodhisattva" Jueguang seem to agree with the name change of the lay monks. The only ones who have not yet expressed their opinions are Jueming of Zhengjian Hall and Juejian of Zhengye Hall. Confirmed with Zhengsitang.
Abbot Juesheng looked at Jueming, who said, "Let me hear what senior brother thinks."
Jueming is nicknamed "No Leaf Touched". Even if he has an idea, he has to check the wind direction first. He was the first to ask about Juejian. Everyone knew about the conflict between Juejian and Juekong. Although the two men were in superior and subordinate positions, they had many disputes. The more distant one was the case of missing heart, and the more recent one was The death of Fu Yingcong and the madness of this month.
I could only hear him pondering for a long time, and then said slowly: "The poor monk thought that changing the name of a lay monk still requires deep thought."
When he said this, everyone was surprised. The master of Zhengye Hall is in charge of punishment. Nine of the ten monks who violate the precepts are lay monks. If there is anyone in the eight halls of the four courtyards who hates lay monks the most except Jue Guan, it is Jue Guan who is in charge of the precepts. Who would have thought that he would be the one in charge of the precepts at this moment? Are you siding with the lay monks?
In fact, I feel hesitant in my heart because of practical considerations.Compared with the three monks of Wenshu Monastery who are indifferent to the world, he is a more pragmatic monk.At this time, the proposal to change the name of the lay monks actually added fuel to the fire between the orthodox and the secular.
Juejian continued: "Everyone is a disciple of Shaolin, and they are dedicated to contributing to Shaolin. If they are given different names, the lay monks will think that their status is lower. This is not conducive to eliminating the dispute between the orthodox and the secular."
"Woli Dao" Jue Guan said: "If there is no distinction, the lay monks should observe the precepts just like the orthodox monks. They are monks in the temple, but they are secular outside the temple. They are neither fish nor fowl!"
When he said this, he looked towards Zide. The leader just nodded, but he dozed off again.
The "untouched leaf" Jueming also said: "We are both disciples of the Buddha, how can we distinguish between the orthodox and the secular? Since practice is to follow the circumstances and rejoice, and lay monks are lay people and monks, what's the problem? Eliminating the differences is the most important thing. As for the A name is nothing more than a name, so why bother to delve into it?" He saw that the righteous monk was the first to oppose despite all the opinions, and he had no worries at the moment. He opposed the name change, not because of pragmatism, but because he truly believed that changing the name of lay monks violated the Buddhist principle of equality.
Jue Guan still refused to give up and continued: "You should be happy with the situation. Most of them are cultivation methods. The Sangha is one of the three treasures. The Sangha treasure needs to abide by the precepts and practice truthfully. How can it be allowed to be mixed and insulted?"
Juekong said coldly: "Did Juekuan's words mean that lay monks have defiled the Shaolin Temple?"
Jue Guan said: "If you practice sincerely, you will not be included in this list. Then again, the name is an empty sign, so why should the practitioner care about the name of the Dharma?"
Juekong said: "You say you don't need to pay attention to the name of the Dharma, but you also propose that lay monks change their names. Don't you feel that the statement of Master Juekuan is contradictory?"
Jue Guan said: "The name change is to distinguish the righteous monks and lay monks from the outside. Cultivation is to follow one's own path and does not violate it. Could it be that without the Dharma title, lay monks will not be able to practice?"
The two were tit-for-tat. Seeing that the topic was becoming tense, Abbot Juesheng said: "This matter is very important. I hope you will think about it carefully. In one month, it will be the Buddha's birthday, and the chores will be complicated. There will be many believers coming to Shaolin Temple by then. Everyone." Careful effort is required.”
Everyone clasped their hands and said, "I respectfully respect the abbot's decree."
Abbot Juesheng was about to stand up when he saw the last person who had received the certificate. Then he remembered that he had not spoken and asked, "What do you think, the abbot who has received the certificate?"
Not long after he became the abbot of Zhengsi Hall, he was the lowest generation and the most junior among the people.Ksitigarbha is the last of the four courtyards, and Zhengsitang is the last of the eight. He has to be submissive to the other first abbots, so the temple gave him a new nickname of "Steamed Bun" and laughed at him for letting others tease him.The four houses of discussion even forgot to let him speak.
He was about to speak when Jue Guan, the "Woli Dao", said coldly: "There are seven objections here. Does it matter what he says?"
"Steamed Bun" had no choice but to swallow his saliva, clasped his hands together, and said respectfully: "I have no idea at the moment."
※ ※ ※
The eighth day of April is the birthday of Sakyamuni, also known as the "Buddha Festival". It is the biggest festival of the year in Shaolin Temple. This is also one of the few days when Shaolin Temple is open to the general public.Even though it is open to the public, it only extends to the chiway at the entrance, allowing people to worship at a distance from the temple gate.
On the occasion of the Buddha's birthday, the most lively place is the Buddha Capital.
Starting from the third day of April, for seven consecutive days, the Buddhist capital will set up a Dharma ground to receive the golden Buddha, Buddha bones, colorful relics, etc. collected and enshrined by the Shaolin Temple for people to pay homage. It will also accept believers to bathe the Buddha, present flowers, fruits, and offerings to monks, as well as pilgrims from all directions. There was an endless stream. At the same time, seven Dharma meetings were held, and monks from Wenshu Monastery were invited to give lectures. Among the audience were also dignitaries from various martial arts sects.
During this period, Wenshu Monastery is responsible for giving lectures and interacting with believers, Samantabhadra Monastery maintains law and order and guards temple treasures, Guanyin Monastery receives domestic and foreign dignitaries, and Ksitigarbha Monastery builds various Dharma gatherings and distributes expenses. The whole month of March can be said to be a wonderful time. It is the busiest and most difficult month for everyone in Shaolin Temple.
There is only one person who is most at ease - Monk Luojing, the annotator of the Tibetan Scripture Pavilion.
The job of the annotator monk is to register the monks who have borrowed books from the Sutra Pavilion. If they encounter those who do not return them, they will report them for payment. Therefore, Liaojing’s job is just to make notes in the Sutra Pavilion, which is boring. , this may be one of the most boring jobs in Shaolin Temple.
On Buddha's birthday, the monks inside and outside the temple are very busy. Usually no one comes to borrow books, so they are more leisurely than usual. He is already a monk, so he doesn't need to clean. He just reads after breakfast every day, and then practices martial arts, and there is nothing else.
But this year, Liao Jing was not at ease. He had something on his mind.
A matter of unknown concern.
Liao Jing noticed that Ming Wu Shi was borrowing books at an astonishing speed. The Sutra Pavilion stipulates that each person can only borrow two classics at a time.Ming and Unknown always borrowed and returned them as quickly as possible. Liao Jing didn't know whether he had really finished reading them or just browsed them casually. In short, Ming and Unknown would come to borrow books every two or three days, and the types they borrowed varied, mostly Buddhist scriptures and various miscellaneous books.Liao Jing jokingly asked whether Ming was not sure, but Ming just said: "I've finished reading. If you don't understand, you'll understand if you read more." Liao Jing didn't take it seriously after many times.
I noticed that Ming was unknown again, starting from when Di Gui borrowed the first scripture from him.Liao Jing was surprised, so he greeted Di Gui and said to him, "If you have any questions about the scriptures, please come and ask me."
He knew that Bu Gui was illiterate. From that time on, he began to pay attention to Bu Gui. From the interactions between Bu Gui and Ming Wuxiang, he could see that it was Ming Wuxi who taught Bu Gui how to read.
Then he saw the changes in the disciples of Zhengjian Hall.He lamented that the fortune-telling turtle had taken the wrong path, thinking it was an unfortunate tragedy.
What caught his attention was a small incident last year. A Zhengye monk borrowed a copy of "Nianhua Fingering Method".This is Shangtang martial arts, which comes from the allusion of Buddha holding a flower and smiling. What is important is that once the finger force is released, it will leave no trace. Sometimes when hitting the opponent, the opponent will not even realize that he is injured. It is the 27th gate. One of the martial arts that can only be practiced with the approval of the Eighth Hall abbot or above. He saw the handwriting of Abbot Jueji, took out the secret book from the Shen Tong Zang, and when he flipped through it for inspection, he found a page that was missing. That is pages No. 30 seven and 38. This page naturally falls between pages No. 30 six and page 39.
This was a natural thing, but it made Jing feel something was wrong.
Many of the books in the Sutra Pavilion are old and often have broken pages.Except for the two major sutras, "Yi Jin" and "Xi Marrow", Zhengjiantang usually sends people to rewrite the copies for storage. When even the copies are old, they will be transcribed separately.
This book "Nianhua Fingering Method" is a copy.
Liao Jing was originally a lazy person. When the scriptures were returned, he should check them for defects and contamination, but he always just asked a few casual questions and turned a few pages.Anyway, if there are any omissions, the next borrower will report them. Since it is just a copy, it doesn’t matter if it is damaged, but you don’t deserve to be scolded. If you really want to be scolded, the person who borrowed it before will also bear the brunt.
He remembered clearly that the last time the book was returned, the monk who borrowed it told him that a page had fallen off.He shook the book, and sure enough, a page fell down. He slipped it into the book, canceled the loan, and put it back in the magical possession.
But now, the page is stuck in the right place.
The net is sparse and lazy, but refined. His master once told him that if he was not lazy, he would definitely be a first-class person in the temple, but now, he is just a first-class lazy man.
He had no opinion on this.He became a monk because it was the simplest job he knew.He entered the church at the age of 25 and became a Buddhist monk. He only wanted to be a Buddhist monk for another 40 years.
Someone else had read this book, and Liao Jing thought to himself that the first thing he thought of was Divination Turtle.
But this book "Nian Hua Finger Technique" is from the martial arts school. It was placed on the top bookcase of the magical power store. The fortune teller had a hunched back and a short body, so he couldn't reach it with his hand.Of course, as long as he jumps up or moves a stool, he can get the book, but the question is, does the fortune teller have a reason to get the book?
With Bu Gui's knowledge of martial arts, he didn't even know which book was the most advanced martial arts book, so why should he insist on getting this book? The stolen "Dragon Claw Hand" was only on the second floor of the bookcase. He hadn't even fully practiced Dragon Claw Hand, so how could he practice finger-twisting without having to go to all the trouble to get it?
The second question is, even if he really took the book, how would he put it back?Jump up and stuff it back?He is illiterate, so how can he remember where to put it back?Looking at the densely packed books on the bookshelf, Liao Jing put aside this possibility.
So who read this book?Right under his nose... After handing the book to the monk who borrowed it, he began to think about this issue.
The next day, as usual, he came to the Sutra Collection Pavilion in advance and took his place, looking at Ming Wuxiang who walked into the Shen Tong Zang.
Just like when Divining Turtle was alive, the Shen Tong Zang was already the exclusive Sasao area for Ming and Unknown.
Liao Jing looked at Ming's unknown figure. From outside the door, he could only see a small area where the magical power was hidden. The place where the "Nianhua Fingering Technique" was originally placed happened to be out of his sight.
He walked over and passed through the small iron gate.Unknown Ming was sweeping the floor. When he saw him, he just nodded as a salute and continued his work.
"The books here are not allowed to be read, you know, right?" Liao Jing asked.
Ming Wuji nodded and said: "The disciples below are not allowed to read the martial arts scriptures recorded in the Shen Tong Zang. I understand."
"You are young and ignorant, and you love reading. I am afraid that you will accidentally break the precepts," Liao Jing said.
"Thank you for your concern, uncle." Ming said vaguely.
After Liao Jing left, Ming Wuxi quickly looked around, and finally his eyes stopped at a place on the upper shelf of the bookshelf.
That was the place where "Nianhua Fingering Technique" was originally placed.
In the afternoon of that day, all the laboring monks had left, but Liao Jing still had doubts in his mind.He hoped that he was being careless, but he couldn't figure out how to return the missing page of "Nianhua Fingering". Could it be that he just inserted it casually and just happened to insert it in the right position?
When he raised his head, he saw that he was walking over.
"Are you going to borrow books again?" Liao Jing asked.
It was unclear but he was coy and hesitated to speak, which was very different from his usual calm demeanor.Liao Jing saw something strange about the unknown and asked, "What's wrong?"
Ming asked uncertainly: "What kind of punishment will you receive if you peek into the hidden scriptures of magical powers?"
Liao Jing said: "It depends on the situation. In severe cases, it can be driven out of the temple, or like a fortune-telling turtle... Well, you know. If you just browse without intention and don't see much, then you will be punished, beaten with a stick, or forced to do hard labor." wait."
"I secretly read the classics." Ming Wuxi admitted frankly, "It's "Nian Hua Finger Technique"."
Liao Jing was greatly surprised by Ming's unknown confession, so he said, "Do you know that this is a serious crime?"
"Uncle Master, please take me to Zhengye Hall to receive my punishment." Ming unknown lowered his head and said, as if he was repenting.
Liao Jing asked again: "You always obey the rules, how could you read this book?"
Ming unknownly said: "Three months ago, I borrowed the Sutra of Brahma King Asking the Buddha, which tells the story of the Buddha holding flowers and smiling. I thought about the meaning, but I still couldn't figure it out. When I was cleaning, I saw " "Nianhua Fingering Technique", I didn't think much, so I took the book down, and as soon as I opened it, I saw a page fell off, so I hurriedly put the missing page back into the book and quickly put it back."
Liao Jing asked: "You didn't read the content in the book?"
Ming unknown hesitated for a while and said, "Actually, I read a few pages."
Liao Jing said: "It is said that you have a photographic memory. Doesn't this mean you have learned it?"
Ming Ming shook his head and said: "Although I remember it, I don't understand it. If my uncle wants to know which pages it is, I will recite it to him."
Nian Hua pointed out that he was going to the martial arts school. Ling Jing couldn't help but feel curious. Just as he was about to say yes, his thoughts suddenly changed and he thought: "If I accidentally remember this excellent martial arts, I might not be aroused to be curious." , but I want to go see it." He said hurriedly, "No need." Then he asked, "Why did you come to me today to repent?"
Ming said vaguely: "My uncle asked me this morning, so I guess I can't hide it anymore. I've been feeling uneasy these days, so I confessed."
At this point, the issue of the missing pages is finally answered.Liao Jing said: "Forget it this time, I will keep an eye on you from now on and don't do it again."
Ming Wuxi saluted and said: "Ming Wuxiang will never do it again."
Liao Jing nodded and said, "It's okay, let's go."
What a coincidence? His suspicion just arose, and he came to accuse him without knowing it?Although Liao Jing felt doubtful, he thought that Ming Ming was only fourteen or fifteen years old, and without the guidance of a master, he would not be able to learn the fingering technique even if he saw it.
He sat there all afternoon, and when the Sutra Pavilion was closed and the guard monks came up, he did not go to have dinner, but went to the Foxiang Tower in the Buddhist capital to buy some rice dumplings and went to talk to his master about the past.
However, Liao Jing's teaching lineage was unusual. It was Jueru, the abbot of Zhengyu Hall who was in charge of all government affairs in the temple. He was one of the leading figures among the Zhengsang monks, nicknamed "Xiaokou Amitao".However, Guo Jing knew that his master was a man. If he didn't hide his sword in his smile, how could he join forces with the "Woli Dao" to perform a quick double-sword attack and cause such a disturbance as a lay monk changing his name?
"You are so kind to come to me to reminisce about old times? Are you trying to extort some martial arts skills?" Jueru said with a smile while eating vegetarian rice dumplings in the abbot's room of Zhengyu Hall.
"Master misunderstood me again. This is my filial piety." Liao Jing said, "Last month was your birthday."
"Oh, what happened last month? I would have forgotten it if you didn't tell me." Jueru teased. "You won't forget that since last month, there have been a mountain of gifts. There are many people who want to flatter you. I didn't join in the fun and waited for a month before coming."
"I think so. If I really want to teach you martial arts, you are too lazy to learn it." Jue Ru said, "I have already sent you to the Zhengjian Hall to be a monk. It is a leisurely job. Have you concentrated on reciting the Buddha's name and praying seriously? Practicing martial arts? Have you put your kung fu aside? Come and try a few moves with Master."
Liao Jing said: "Okay, master, save your strength, and apprentice, there will be less bruises."
Jueru said: "You are just lazy. If you were more serious, I would have more helpers."
Liao Jing said: "There are many senior brothers, and they can all help. Besides, only by having no desires and no demands can you understand your heart and see your nature."
"Do you know why I didn't accept any more disciples after you?" Jueru said, "I put all my hopes on you."
"Senior Brother Seventh said that you told him the same thing," Liao Jing said, "You also told Senior Brother that he was a man of talent and that it would be enough to accept him as a disciple."
Jueru laughed loudly and said, "You can't cultivate Buddhahood if you are too glib."
"If you can't cultivate, you will return to secular life." Liao Jing asked, "What interesting things have happened recently?"
"What else can happen? It's the lay monks who are causing trouble." Speaking of the lay monks, Jueru put down the rice dumplings he had just opened and said, "Those unclean things are brought in."
"What's wrong?" Li Jing took apart a plain rice dumpling and put it in his mouth. He felt it was a little dry. He poured tea and mixed it with his swallowing, but he was burned by the tea.
"Drink slowly, I'll burn you to death!" Jueru continued, "You know that guy who hanged himself in Zhengye Hall, right?"
Liao Jing said: "I heard, what happened?"
Jueru said: "What else can be done? Do you know what was written about the cause of his death? It is suspected that he committed suicide for love!"
Liao Jing said: "In the temple? Hmm... It's a bit strange. But, hey, this kind of thing is not unheard of."
Jueru said: "How can an autopsy reveal suicide for love?"
Liao Jing said: "Did you write a suicide note, or did you just watch him socialize?"
Jue Ru said: "There is no suicide note, there is no communication, the word 'love' is in his soul door."
Po Men refers to the butthole. As soon as he said this, Liao Jing immediately understood. However, there were no female relatives in the temple, and the habit of cutting off sleeves was not unusual. He asked again: "Do you know who the other party is?"
Jueru said: "Eight or nine are inseparable from ten, which is this month."
Liao Jing said: "Spotted dog?" He thought for a while, "What an appetite."
Jue Ru said: "Juejian lost his temper over this matter and said that it was a good thing that he sent Ming Wuxi away to avoid being contaminated by all this filth."
As soon as he heard that Ming was unknown, Liao Jing immediately pricked up his ears and asked, "Why is this matter related to Ming's unknown again?"
Jue Ru said: "Unknown, this person was originally working in Zhengye Hall, together with Fu Yingcong, who died this month. Jue saw him as a treasure, and praised him to the point where we were tired of hearing it. He also I mentioned that I had given Mingwu a pair of shoes before, but Mingwu gave them to the fortune teller instead. It’s a pity that the fortune teller didn’t learn well. For this reason, Juejian went out of his way to enlighten him.”
"Did he give the Divination Gui's shoes?" Liao Jing asked. He was a note monk, and he had always been familiar with the disciples in the Zhengjian Hall. After the Divination Gui incident, he asked other disciples what happened. We also have a rough idea of the causes and consequences. It was the pair of shoes that the fortune teller never said where they came from, which made the sweeper disciples suspect him of stealing money.
Divination turtle first, then Fu Yingcong, what a coincidence.Liao Jing asked: "It doesn't seem like Spotted Dog has a habit of cutting off his sleeves. I guess Fu Yingcong was deceived by him and then hanged himself in anger."
Jueru said: "It would be good if this was the case. If this month is tough, this matter will not be simple. In the end, it stopped at committing suicide for love. In the final analysis, I was afraid that the investigation would be unfavorable, so I wanted to cover up my ugly face."
Liao Jing ate another vegetarian rice dumpling and said, "If this is really the case, I will not stop until I see the abbot."
Jueru scolded: "One after another, are you buying food for Master or for yourself?"
Liao Jing said: "Oh, I was so absorbed in listening that I couldn't stop talking."
Jueru got up and went to the counter to get some melon and fruit cakes, put them on the table and said, "You eat them slowly. If you can't finish them, pack them back."
Liao Jing said: "Why is this so embarrassing? Ah, what is this? It smells so good?" He picked up a piece of cake and asked.
Jue Ru said: "Osmanthus and chestnut cake, it was delivered last month."
Liao Jing knew that it was a gift he had received, and it was of top quality. It was indeed soft and sweet in the mouth. He praised it a few times and asked, "What happened next?"
"This month's master Liao Wu has begged Abbot Juejian for mercy, hoping that the matter will be settled as soon as possible. He will move outside the temple this month and wait for a trial next year."
Liao Jing thought for a moment and said, "That's it." He picked up another snack.
Jueru complained: "We are of the same generation, and we have become the abbot of Zhengsitang, so you only care about eating."
The master and the apprentice chatted for a few more times until they felt sleepy and finished before returning to the room.
That was last June.
Nothing else happened for the next few months. There was a snowstorm after winter, and Ming had been missing for an unknown number of days. He was so anxious that he sent out all the disciples from Zhengye Hall to look for him.Later, I heard that he had solved the old grudge between Yao Yunda, the owner of the iron shop at the foot of the mountain, and his enemies. Abbot Jueming greatly appreciated him and introduced him as a layman. He became a layman before he was sixteen. Jueming personally sent someone to teach him martial arts. I heard that he was making rapid progress.
A teenage boy seduced two adults and turned their hostility into friendship?Liao Jing thought to himself: "This master's nephew is really smart."
But he felt a little uneasy in his heart, and the fallen page from "Nianhua Fingering" was always lingering in his heart.
No matter from all aspects, he is impeccable, smart, diligent, kind and humble. But starting from the beginning, Bu Gui, Lu Changfeng, disciples of Zhengjian Hall, Fu Yingcong... people who have a relationship with him always have accidents one after another.
After the New Year, Liao Jing heard another news.
This month I went crazy in Buddha City and gouged out my own eyes.
"Is it this month's turn this time?" Liao Jing thought to himself. When he talked about this matter with his master Jueru, everyone said that this month he couldn't bear the condemnation of conscience, so he went crazy. However, Liao Jing said: "If a spotted dog has a conscience, it will not be a spotted dog."
In March, the snow melted slightly, so I put on my outer robe and went to the Buddhist capital.
He arrived at his residence in the Buddhist capital this month, which was a small house with two monks guarding the outside.Liao Jing greeted the monk and said he wanted to meet this month.
"You want to see Spotted Dog?" asked a monk, "What to do?"
Liao Jing said: "I have met him a few times, so I care about him."
Liao Jing was only 27 years old, but he was a monk of Liao generation. There are many disciples in Shaolin Temple, and they are arranged according to their seniority. There is a huge gap between them. It is very common for the disciples to be older and younger.Monk Gu Shou was just a senior, so he didn't do much to stop him. He only said: "Be careful if he gets angry and hurts others."
Liao Jing nodded, opened the door, and immediately heard Yue Yue's panic roar, sounding like a wild beast.
Yue Yue's eyes were sunken, and they were said to have been gouged out by himself. When he heard the door open, he yelled: "Don't come over! Don't come over!"
Liao Jing frowned and stepped forward.
Hearing footsteps this month, without even saying a word, he came over with a strike from the Thousand-Handed Guanyin Palm.At this time, he fell into madness and became extremely powerful. This palm strike made the wind howl.Liao Jing dodged sideways, stretched out his leg and tripped him down. Bao Yue immediately jumped up, not caring about his left and right, and slashed wildly.
Liao Jing thought that if he were to fight like this, his muscles and bones would be injured, so he raised both hands and used his left and right piercing hands.
This left and right flower piercing technique pays attention to using the emptiness to remove the reality, and mainly focuses on the four-character key points of "dividing, turning, removing, and striking". "Split" refers to splitting the force. The opponent comes with a punch, hits the midstream, and hits the elbow and arm to disperse the force. "Turn" means turning the arm to change the direction of the opponent's attack as if drawing a circle. After these two levels, the power of the opponent's attack has been greatly reduced. After that, it is "unloading", using the body and arms to remove the opponent's power, and finally counterattack. Its martial arts principles are similar to Wudang Yun Shou, both of which use circle drawing to neutralize the opponent's power.
At this time, Ling Jing had no intention of hurting anyone. He just spread his hands and moved them back and forth. The shadows of Yue Yue's palms were all gone without a trace. After a while, he collapsed on the ground from exhaustion.
"I haven't done anything for so long, but my martial arts has actually improved." Liao Jing thought to himself, "Master always scolds me for not practicing, but I can still do it." Then I thought again, Master would probably say to himself: "It's not enough to defeat a monk of my generation." I'm so embarrassed to tell you!" I thought the same thing, this month is just a laboring disciple, so defeating him is no big deal, but not only did I win easily, but I also exhausted him to the point of exhaustion, which was not that easy. Then I thought: "Speaking of which, Master will probably say that I am proud. Alas, Master will never be satisfied no matter what I do."
He thought for a while, then looked at this month, lowered his head and asked, "What did you see?"
Yue Yue was panting and heard the sound of Jing approaching. He was so frightened that he shrank to the corner of the room and sobbed: "I didn't see it...I didn't even see it. Don't come over..."
Thinking about the evil appearance of Spotted Dog in the past, it has become like this now. Should it be said that there is a hint of happiness in the unbearability, or a hint of unbearability in the happiness?Liao Jing lowered his head and said, "I'm not going to harm you, I'm just asking you, what did you see?"
No matter how Liao Jing asked, this month he just talked nonsense, panicked, hugged his head and cried.Liao Jing couldn't figure out why, and he was troubled for a while. He thought it would be better to try and test it by fighting poison with poison.
"I am Ming Wuxi. Spotted dog, if you dare to bully me, I'm here to take revenge!" Liao Jing changed his voice and deliberately mentioned Ming Wuxi's name.
Yue Yue just twitched and shouted: "You bitch, one day I will kill you, kill you! Come here, I will kill you!"
He was full of hatred for Ming Wuxi, that was for sure, but he didn't panic when he heard Ming Wuxi's name. Could it be that he was really being careless?
Liao Jing lowered his voice again and said in a ghostly manner: "I am Fu Yingcong, please give me my life!"
Hearing Fu Yingcong's name, Yue Yue jumped up in fright and shouted: "Fu Yingcong, don't come close! If you die, you will die! Don't! Don't! Don't touch me!" He shrank to the corner and put his hands around his shoulders. , hugging her so hard that her fingertips were almost pinched into her flesh.
Just listen to him crying: "I listened to you, I dug out my eyes to compensate you, what else do you want, what else do you want?"
Liao Jing couldn't bear it and thought to himself: "It seems that Fu Yingcong was indeed forced to die this month. He had a disturbed conscience and had nightmares day and night, which is why he went crazy. This man has done many evil things and deserves to die."
He stood up and was about to leave when he suddenly saw Yue Yue huddled in the corner with his hands on his shoulders. At first glance, I thought he was panicking, so he hugged his shoulders and hid in the corner, but when he looked closely, it was different. When ordinary people hug in fear, their hands should be placed slightly below the shoulders. That is the most normal position for hugging. However, this month, the hands are pressed on the upper sides of the shoulders, the knees are bent, and the upper body is leaned back, as if trying to stretch the upper body. Lean into the corner instead of curling up into a ball.
With a thought in his mind, he stepped forward, pulled away Yue Yue's hands, and tore off his clothes.I saw five bruises on this month's shoulder. This was caused by him pressing his shoulder with excessive force, which resulted in bruises.Looking at the other shoulder, there are the same fingerprints in the same position. As soon as his hand touched the bruise, Yue Yue immediately jumped up and shouted: "Don't scratch my shoulder, don't scratch my shoulder!"
If he only looked at this position, Liao Jing thought to himself: "It's more like the person below is grabbing the shoulders of the person above during sex." He suddenly understood, and said with a ghostly look: "I am Fu Yingcong, and I'm here to catch you. Shoulder!"
Yue Yue knelt down and begged for mercy. He held his shoulders and kept kowtowing until he bled. He wailed: "Don't arrest me! Don't arrest me! You go and seek revenge from Ming Wuxiang! I want to kill him, not you. Who knows you?" Will it appear there? Who knows!"
Hearing Ming's unknown name again, Liao Jing hurriedly asked, but this month was confusing and incoherent, and everything he said was related to Fu Yingcong.
Liao Jing left the hut and asked the two monks at the door what they were going to do this month.
The monk replied: "His family has been notified. If he does not come to collect it, he will be imprisoned in the Shaolin Temple."
Liao Jing nodded and left this month's residence.
This month I set a trap, intending to bully Ming Wuxiang, but somehow, Fu Yingcong ended up being the scapegoat.Unable to bear the bullying, Fu Yingcong hanged himself, realizing that the abbot was right.Liao Wuwei protected his apprentice and asked Chief Juekong to come forward and save the apprentice.
This matter can only be determined by asking. However, Wu is a lay monk and a subordinate of "Jinmao Shi" Jue Ji. The relationship between Jin Mao Shi and Master Jue Ru has never been good, and Master recently teamed up with the "Woli Dao" to get involved with a lay monk Yi A famous proposal, this question, are you afraid that you will be suspected of re-examining an old case? You have to ask more yourself.
He went to a nearby store to inquire, and asked in a drug store that he had gone there to buy ointment to treat bruises a few days before he went crazy this month.
"I asked him where he was injured, but he didn't tell me. He just wanted to buy the best one," said the pharmacy owner.
"How did he look then?" Liao Jing asked.
"He's a little distracted." The drug store owner said, "I've never seen him like this before."
"Before?" Liao Jing asked, "Does the boss recognize this month?"
"Before he went mad, he beat someone up at the Zen Feng Tea House. The other person said he wanted to report him to the Wuming Temple, so he had to pay the money and bring the person to my place to get medicine. At that time, he was still muttering that he would get a chivalrous certificate and go to Jiangxi to taste the real thing. He smells like a woman, and I knew he was a lay monk at the first glance. Thanks to his appearance and his evil appearance, otherwise, I would have so many guests here, how could I remember him?"
"How long ago?" Liao Jing asked, doubtful in his heart.
"About three months ago."
At that time, Yue Yue hadn't gone crazy yet, and Fu Yingcong was already dead, but he didn't show any sign of guilt. How could his inner demons suddenly disturb him?The more you think about it, the more afraid you become? He himself didn't believe how much conscience he had this month, until he saw him and went crazy, thinking that he was suspicious of someone else. But now that the drug store owner said it, it didn't look like this.
The bruise on this month's shoulder was indeed pressed by him, but he didn't want a ghost to grab his shoulder. That was when Fu Yingcong was being violated. Fu Yingcong grabbed his shoulders and tried to push him away.
He then asked nearby residents if any strange people passed by when he went crazy this month, and the residents said no.Only one person said that one day he saw a figure flashing past outside this month's house, like a ghost.
What if someone pretends to be a ghost to scare this month and drive him crazy? This month is a brave person, but pretending to be a ghost can't scare him. How did the other party do it?Before he went crazy this month, he bought medicine to treat bruises. If he didn't press the bruises on his shoulders, who pressed them?
That position is close to the front, and if you try to press it, you will definitely be discovered. No matter how fast the body technique is, the room is small and there is no room for him to dodge and maneuver unless he points out from a distance. But what kind of martial arts can cause bruises without the injured person noticing?
Nianhua fingering! Can hit the opponent with invisible energy and make the injured unaware!
Liao Jing's heart suddenly suddenly turned around and she walked towards the Shaolin Temple.
Someone used their fingers to press bruises on his shoulders while he was not paying attention this month. This month when I was grooming myself, I saw the scars on my body and thought it was Fu Yingcong's ghost coming to take revenge. I was restless day and night. The man pretended to be a ghost to scare him and forced him to dig out his eyes.
So after going crazy, Yue month pressed his shoulders tightly, and the bruises he caused covered up the injuries caused by pinching his fingers.
While the details are unclear, this is the most likely scenario.
If this person really existed, would it be unknown?
Can a teenage boy master the art of holding flowers in martial arts to such an extent that he can even use it to play with this month?
What's even more terrifying is this scheming...
If so... if so...
Liao Jing was suspicious, but there was no evidence.

Abbot Juekuan came to Wenshu Monastery, and this Woli knife came to visit Abbot Jueming. At the same time, he invited Abbot Juejian of Zhengye Hall.
During the discussion among the four houses, only the two righteous monks objected to the name change of the lay monks. He wanted to persuade them, but he was not sure.Jue Ming is familiar with the classics and believes that the lay monks changed their names because of their discriminatory mentality. However, if he could convince Jue Ming, he would definitely change his mind according to his "not touching a leaf" character. It's just that Jue Jian has always been pragmatic and believes that it is not appropriate to add fuel to the dispute between orthodoxy and secularity at this time. It is not easy to convince him.
While Jue Guan was thinking about how to persuade Jue Ming, a young man bumped into him recklessly.Jueguan was the leader of the Fourth Academy, and he knew martial arts well. He took a step back, gave the young man a hand, and said, "Be careful."
The young man almost bumped into someone, but he steadied himself and hurriedly saluted and said: "Disciple, I am unknown, but I have seen the leader of Juekuan. Please forgive me."
Jue Guan often heard and heard that Jue Ming mentioned this disciple and knew that he was a newly promoted layman who was helping Jue Ming handle official documents and files. He had never noticed it, but when he saw it today, he turned out to be a handsome young man, so he asked, "Are you aware of the unknown? Have you met the abbot?"
Ming unknownly said, "Abbot Jue Jian has just arrived." After saying that, he yawned loudly and realized that he was being disrespectful. He quickly lowered his head and said, "Disciple is being disrespectful."
Jue Guan smiled and said, "Didn't you get enough sleep last night?"
Ming Wuxi smiled slightly and said: "Yesterday when I was reading the scriptures, there was a story that was so terrifying that it scared the disciples tossing and turning all night, feeling deeply uneasy, and that's why they crashed into the first one."
Jueguan's curiosity was aroused and he asked: "What kind of story is so scary?"
Ming unknownly said: "I was reading the Mahaparinirvana Sutra yesterday, and when I saw the seventh volume, I was frightened."
This sentence is like an enlightenment, a moment of enlightenment.
The Mahaparinirvana Sutra records the teachings taught by the Buddha before his death. The content of Chapter 7 is as follows:
"The Buddha told Kassapa: Seven hundred years after my parinirvana, the demons will gradually disrupt my righteous Dharma, just like a hunter wearing dharma robes; the demon king Boshun will also do the same, making a bhikkhu like a bhikkhu like an Upasaka. Like the image of Upasika, it also transforms into a Sotapanna body, and even into an Arahant body and a Buddha body. The devil uses the leaky form to create a non-discharge body, destroying my righteous Dharma."
Meaning, the Buddha said that 700 years after his death, the devil will transform into a monk and use wrong Dharma to destroy the correct Dharma.
Someone turned this sentence into a short eight words: "In the age of the end of Dharma, use Buddha to destroy Buddha."
"I often hear the two abbots praise you, and it turns out they are right." Jueguan patted Ming Shishi on the shoulder and said with a smile, "Good boy!"
Ming unknown asked: "Do you need a disciple to lead the way?"
Jue Guan smiled and said, "No need, I know the way."
Jueguan quickly stepped into the hall. He already knew how to convince Juejian and Jueming.
These lay monks, just like the disciples of the devil recorded in the scriptures, wear the robes of the monk treasure and do things to destroy the Buddha's teachings.Shaolin Temple is an important place and a benchmark for Buddhism. If one day even the position of abbot is occupied by lay monks, it will not only destroy the Shaolin Temple, but also a catastrophe for Buddhism. You can ignore the distinction between orthodox and secular, and you can ignore the rise and fall of Shaolin Temple, but you cannot ignore Buddhism. Allowing these people to occupy Shaolin Temple is equivalent to occupying the right to speak of Buddhism.
It must be distinguished. Lay monks must not use the same name as orthodox monks. From this statement, he believes that he will be able to persuade enlightenment and enlightenment.
"Thanks to this child." Jueguan thought to himself.

Liao Jing raised his head and saw Ming Wuxiang, who was about to return the two scriptures he borrowed a few days ago.
They are the Mahaparinirvana Sutra and the Surangama Sutra.
In the past, Lao Jing rarely talked to Ming Shixi, but today he said: "These two sutras are interesting, aren't they?" He picked up the "Mahaparinirvana Sutra" and said, "There is a story in this book. After the Buddha passed away, the demons disguised themselves as disciples of the Buddha, infiltrated the Buddhist sect, and destroyed the true Dharma."
Ming said vaguely: "It is recorded in the seventh volume, I remember it."
Liao Jing picked up the "Surangama Sutra" again and said: "As for this "Surangama Sutra", since its birth, many people have said that it is an apocryphal book, just because the text in the book is so magical that it is unbelievable. Young eminent monks and lay people have argued over this book many times."
Liao Jing looked at the unknown and asked, "Do you think the Shurangama Sutra is true or false?"
Ming said without details: "My ancestors debated it many times, but they could never produce evidence that this book is fake."
Liao Jing said: "I think it's false, but I haven't found any evidence yet." He looked at Ming Wuxiang steadily and asked, "What do you think?"
Ming did not answer, but smiled at Jing, as bright as a flower blooming in early spring.
(End of this chapter)
