Chapter 676 Conflict
In the early morning, the sun rose as usual, but for the people of this land, everything that had happened in the past few days was like a nightmare.

"Stop the car for routine inspection!"

As soon as they got off the highway, Dean and Sam were stopped by a group of soldiers armed with real guns. This was the fourth time they had been intercepted along the way. From the initial nervousness, the brothers gradually got used to this kind of operation.

The leading soldier took out a metal detector. He first looked at Dean and Sam, and then pointed the detector at the two people in front of him.

Dean and Sam knew that the thing in the soldier's hand was most likely the mutant detector mentioned on TV, which was specifically used to detect mutant genes. Anyone who was a mutant or carried mutant genes in their body, even if they were negative, would be detected by this thing.

Ever since the battle between the Wild Sentinels and the unknown mutants in Manhattan, the military has begun to investigate the identities of these mutants on a large scale. To this end, they directly controlled all major traffic arteries, and everyone was on their screening list.

Dean and Sam finally understood why Zhang Ye specifically wanted to find two ordinary people like them to come to this universe. This was not only to avoid the eyes of the dark observer, but also to avoid being targeted by the humans in this universe.

At first, Dean and Sam were still a little panicked. After all, they were ordinary people, but they had also used extraordinary abilities before.

Not to mention that Sam had drunk the blood of the devil since he was a child, Dean also picked up the Blade of the Original Soul himself and inherited the Blade of Cain for a period of time.

But the good news is that this detector can only detect mutant genes, so it does not have much reaction to the demon and angel energies in the brothers' bodies.

Beep! Beep——

The indicator light flashed twice and then turned green, followed by a soft metallic sound.

Seeing this, the soldier's expression improved a little, and he took two steps forward and held out his hand. "Identity information."

"Here." Sam took out two documents, which they specially made to look real. "We are just from the insurance company. We have a duty, you know."

"It's not up to you to decide. Just shut up and stay put."

The soldier glared at Sam coldly, then took the ID and began to check it.

These documents were very complete, as if they were specially prepared for inspection. The soldier didn't see any problems from the photos and information records. He raised his eyes slightly and looked back and forth between Sam and Dean.

After a while, the soldier nodded slightly and returned the certificate to Sam.

"Okay, go ahead."

"Thank you." Although the other party's attitude was very bad, Sam still smiled and said thank you.

After getting in the car, Dean couldn't help but roll his eyes. "What a scumbag! The city is almost out of control, and these guys are still investigating mutants here."

"This is just their duty. Don't look at what's happening here from our perspective. Those mutants from other worlds are not all good people. Didn't you hear what Zhang Ye said before? Most of those mutants are out-of-control lunatics." Sam said slowly.

"An out-of-control lunatic?"

When Dean heard this, he curled his lips.

"You're kidding, I didn't see it."

boom!
Before Dean could finish his words, a car not far away exploded instantly. The huge impact force directly overturned several surrounding cars. Several people who were nearby were torn away like garbage bags and their lives were taken away instantly.

Dean and Sam also subconsciously lowered their bodies, their expressions changing.

When the explosion stopped, Dean finally reacted. He turned around suddenly and looked towards the explosion site from the car, only to see several figures running in the thick flames.

"What the hell?" Dean squinted his eyes, trying to see more clearly.

Soon, the surrounding soldiers noticed the situation here. They rushed towards that direction with guns in hand, continuously firing bullets at the figures inside.

But the weapons of these soldiers had no effect at all. A fire dragon suddenly rose into the sky and pounced towards the soldiers with a roar.

Some soldiers who didn't have time to dodge were directly swallowed by the fire dragon. Amidst the shrill screams and wails, the bodies of those soldiers gradually turned into charcoal, and even the guns in their hands were burned a little red.

"Mutants! Those mutants!!"

With a scream, the whole scene suddenly became chaotic.

Everywhere you look, you see people screaming and running away. Some people want to drive away, but since this is the security check area, there are countless cars lined up here, and they are blocked from front and back and can't drive out at all.

Cars collided with each other one after another, and the flames that shot up into the sky spread out little by little. Some vehicles that were closely packed together even exploded, which was extremely tragic.

"Damn! The car door is blocked and can't be opened!" Dean tried to open the car door, but found that the car next to him was too close, and he couldn't push the door open enough for an adult to pass through.

"This way." Sam pushed open the passenger door and jumped out of the car with a pistol.

With the vehicle as cover, Sam quickly approached the center of the chaos. Dean opened the compartment in the trunk and followed closely with a shotgun.

"I have to be honest. Although we have dealt with various dark creatures, angels and demons before, this is the first time we are facing mutants." Dean leaned against the car and looked up at the flames.

In the thick flames, a man with golden hair was constantly creating bigger heat waves, making it impossible for the soldiers to get close.

"If I'm not mistaken, this guy should be the Fire Man." Sam quickly recognized the other party's identity.

"Pyro, X-Men?" Dean frowned.

"Strictly speaking, no, he should be on Magneto's side." Sam shook his head. "But Zhang Ye said that these mutants cannot be judged by common sense. Judging from his killing spree, he is probably not a good person."

Just as Sam and Dean were talking, a humanoid creature covered in flames suddenly fell from the air, drew an arc, and landed heavily on the hood of the car in front of Dean.

Although the body had been burned beyond recognition, judging from his face, he was most likely the soldier who had checked his and Sam's identities before.

Frightened by this thing, Dean turned around and shook his head helplessly at Sam. The meaning revealed in his eyes was very clear. No matter whether this fire man was good or bad, if they continued to let him continue to destroy things, they would be in danger.

Sam nodded in response, then gestured, turned and rushed out in the other direction.

"Come on, don't you want to die?!"

In the center of the battlefield, flames surrounded the Fire Man Saint John. The high temperature around him even caused the space to distort. The soldiers could hardly get close to him, so they could only set up fire points from a distance, trying to kill this violent mutant here.

But these humans obviously underestimated the ability of the Fire Man. At this time, St. John had already developed his mutant ability to the limit. With just a snap of his fingers, the soldiers who tried to fire all had their hands blown off due to the explosion of the barrel.

Seeing this scene, Sam slammed on the brakes and raised his hands to indicate to the other party that he had no intention of hurting the other party at all.

"Hey, man, calm down, okay?"

Seeing the tall man in a suit and leather shoes rushing in front of him, the fire man's eyes showed a hint of meaning. "You are different from those guys. I can feel that there is something else in you."

"Really?" Sam was stunned. Logically, the demon bloodline in him should have disappeared. How could it still exist? And how could this mutant sense the energy in him?

Just as Sam was confused, Fireman continued to speak.

"You are not from this world either. I can feel the thermal ion reaction in everyone. You are completely different from these people, but you are just an ordinary person. Interesting."

After hearing Fireman's explanation, Sam immediately realized that the other party had misunderstood, but he reacted quickly and took the initiative to speak. "I am the same as you. I am also a mutant, but the mutant gene in my body has been erased. Do you understand?"

"The mutant genes have been erased?" The fire man frowned, as if he remembered something bad from the past, and his expression looked a little bad.

Seeing that the other party was able to communicate, Sam quickly and secretly waved at Dean, signaling him not to act rashly, while he continued to ask.

"My fellow countrymen, I don't know how I got here. What is going on? Why are we here?"

"You don't know?" The fire man's eyes fixed. "Didn't the man tell you?"

"That man?" Sam's face looked a little dazed. He suddenly realized that he was very close to the truth. The fire man in front of him actually saw the mastermind behind all this.

However, just as Sam was about to ask something else.

The fire man's body was instantly torn apart by a huge force, and the whole person flew backwards and fell heavily on the burning ruins of the car behind him.

Blue electric snakes swept across his body. The fire man's body twitched involuntarily a few times, and then he fell to the ground weakly and lost consciousness.

This sudden scene made Sam freeze in place. He looked at the scene blankly, paused for a moment, and then slowly turned his head.

"Good job, big guy."

Looking back, he saw a man with a mechanical hand carrying an electric gun and walking slowly towards him. He pushed his sunglasses and greeted Sam.

"Next, the Plunderer Mercenaries will take over here."
