Chapter 132 Double Betrayal

Chapter 132 Double Betrayal ([-])

The brute strength his Mjolnir armor gives him is enough to turn a Warthog troop carrier upside down.

In the distance, a powerful elite warrior was about to throw a plasma grenade in his hand. The master chief and the paratroopers opened fire on it repeatedly, and the elite soldier had to eat most of the bullets in several magazines of the assault rifle before finally falling onto the deck, whimpering. The plasma grenade that fell aside exploded with a "boom", and its body was lost in the blue fireworks.

Just when he thought the battle had ended hastily and walked towards the other side of the bridge, a Grunt suddenly opened fire on him from behind.A deafening explosion rang out in the Master Chief's ears, and his armor immediately began to recharge. The Grunts seized the opportunity and hurriedly fired a shot, hoping to kill the human.

When the Master Chief turned back, time seemed to slow down and the air suddenly froze.

The Grunt lurking in the equipment closet was stunned. He thought that the shot just now was fatal, but unexpectedly, not only did this armored alien not die, he actually turned around and fought it face to face.

They were only an arm's length apart from each other, which meant that the Master Chief could reach out.So the Master Chief pulled the respirator off the little beast's face and slammed the closet door shut.

There was a frantic banging on the cabinet door, and the Master Chief didn't even look at it. He walked all the way to where Captain Keyes was commanding Ruoding.Cortana appeared on the control panel in front of him, and everything around her appeared in front of the artificial intelligence: charred instruments and equipment, the blood-spattered deck, and shattered monitors.

She shook her head sadly. "I've only been away from home for a few days and look what happened."

John carefully checked the surrounding environment again, and then allowed the hell paratroopers to escort Case into the bridge after confirming that it was safe.

"Captain," Cortana looked at Case with a smile, the Pillar of Autumn's reactor overload program flashing in and out in her hand, "How does it feel to be home?"

"It's not bad." Keyes used his captain authority to start the countdown to the self-destruction program while scanning the destroyed bridge. "It seems that the Covenant people have done a good job in cleaning the bridge for us."

The countdown to the overload of the battleship's reactor popped up next to Cortana, but it stopped just a few seconds after it left.

"What's going on, Cortana?" Case patted the neural interface on the back of his head and looked at the countdown in confusion.

The next sentence they heard in the communication channel came from "Guilty Spark", "I think self-destruction is impossible~"

Cortana sighed, raising a hand to press her translucent forehead, "Damn it."

The Master Chief raised his weapon, but there was no sign of Guilty Spark or his men, the Sentinels. However, this did not affect the robot's chirping words that filled his ears. The artificial intelligence had been connected to their communication system.

"How funny! You want to protect the battleship artificial intelligence with your pitiful knowledge. Aren't you worried about her being captured? Or destroyed?"

Cortana frowned as Guilty Spark entered her database through local access.

"There's nothing to worry about," the Master Chief said firmly, "There's no way this will happen before I die."

Cortana's frown suddenly relaxed. She glanced at John in surprise, and the corners of her eyebrows were slightly curved because of the uncontrollable smile.

Although not near the bridge, Guilty Spark was definitely on board, and he was darting from one control panel to the next, sucking information from sub-processors that Cortana couldn't sense, like a human being. It's so easy to open the curtains.

"You can't imagine how exciting this is! Oh how I enjoy every second of analyzing the data. The thought of you actually destroying this big device and its data... I'm so shocked. Almost. Shocked beyond words." "It deleted the self-destruct program." Cortana warned, her tone softening.

"Why are you still fighting against us, Returner?" "Guilty Spark" asked, "You have no chance of winning! Give us the artificial intelligence, and I will do my best to make your death less painful, and ——”

The annoying sound of "Guilty Spark" suddenly stopped, as if someone suddenly pressed a switch.

Cortana was slowly retracting her raised hand, "At least I can control the communication channel."

Several paratroopers on the side laughed unconsciously.

"Where is he?" asked the Master Chief.

"I'm detecting all the data portals on the ship," Cortana replied. "The Guilty Spark, it's in the engine room. It must be trying to shut down the core of the fusion reactor. Even if I restart the countdown... I don't know What to do."

The Master Chief looked at Cortana's holographic image in surprise. This was the first time she had shown such despair... which actually made her seem more human. "How much firepower do you need to destroy one of the engines?"

"It won't take much," Cortana replied. "Maybe a well-placed grenade will be enough. What?"

He took out a grenade, threw it into the air, and then caught it firmly.

Cortana crossed her arms and smiled meaningfully, "I like this idea, let's go." She looked at Case, "Captain, the Master Chief and I can handle the next operation."

Keith knew that staying here would be a burden, so he nodded, "Understood, teach that weird robot a lesson for me."

After receiving the evacuation signal, the Pelican troop carrier of "Enemy Nemesis" quickly returned to the bridge. Two paratroopers escorted Case to board the ship first. However, just as others were about to follow, a paratrooper was caught by the sudden blazing heat. The light hit him so hard that he fell to the ground without even having time to scream, and he fell motionless.

"Master Chief!" Cortana yelled, "Sentinel!"

A group of sentry robots buzzed in a row and launched an attack. The blazing light, which could melt A-grade titanium alloy like burning through tissue paper, suddenly ravaged the bridge.Despite the Chief's efforts to eliminate the sentries as quickly as possible, two other paratroopers were killed in the sudden attack.

"Damn, what the hell is this?!" "Enemy Buster" exclaimed in the communication channel.

The sentries fired at the front of the Pelican, but a quick swing of the carrier caused the beam to miss the bottom of the ship.

"Master Chief, there are too many of them!" Laurel shouted in the communication channel. "I must take the captain to leave this airspace temporarily. When the situation improves, you have to find an external interface to let me pick you up."

Cortana's reply was lost in the sound of gunfire and the explosion of sentries.
