After experiencing so much, Wen Ran also realized that many things cannot be explained by science.

For example, the drugs that leaked out of Zhang Lan and Qin Yongjun's hands. Some things cannot withstand investigation. After investigation, it will be discovered how unreasonable they are.

Although legends are just legends, people will understand after a certain point that no matter whether the matter is true or false, there must be a reason why it can be passed down.

Sometimes, Wen Ran didn’t know what he was waiting for. Maybe it was the answer that others gave him when he first discovered the abnormality and went to consult them.

Or when, after verification, she found that Zhang Lan might be a true practitioner, but she couldn't get Zhang Lan to save her, Wen Ran at that time deeply understood what a master said to her: It is easy to identify a true practitioner, but also difficult to identify.

There is a story in "Zhuangzi: The Great Master": There was a great man named Meng Suncai, who pretended to cry at his mother's funeral, and did not feel sad. But it was also this man who became famous in Lu because of his funeral.

Yan Hui felt that his reputation did not live up to his character, so he asked Confucius for advice.

Confucius said: Mengsunshi has transcended life and death. He does not feel that there is anything to cry about when someone dies, but he will cry when others cry. This is to be one with the world, and this is why great spiritual practice is difficult to discern.

But as long as he is a human being, he has his own unrighteousness, and his back will be seen. In the story, Yan Hui saw through Meng Suncai's fake crying.

Those who are truly practicing may be walking on the same street as us, taking the same subway, eating skewers at the barbecue table next to us, teaching at the podium, working the night shift at the hospital, making fried rice at the night market, studying at school, organizing documents at the law firm, and working as bricks at the grassroots level.

But if you observe carefully, you will find that they all get what they want. Wherever they are in various industries, they can control the things in that position and control the situation, thus gaining the happy life they want.

A great person must be able to handle the affairs of his position with ease, otherwise he would not choose to be in this position. Therefore, a great person must be able to adapt to his position extremely well.

Therefore, Mengsun in the story was a famous mourner in Lu State. He was able to adapt to his position. Of course, if one has practiced to a certain level, he can easily see the Yingwei Qi of the other person. The weak one is naturally not a high-level one.

Most people think of spiritual practice as: abandoning work, abandoning family, running to some remote mountainous area to become a monk or live in seclusion, then reading scriptures, meditating, practicing qigong every day...

After several years, he became enlightened and gained supernatural powers. After several more years, he ascended to heaven and entered Nirvana.

Actual practice: learning difficult and complex knowledge day after day, doing ordinary and boring work day after day, until there are no more distractions, the mind is as calm as water, and you enjoy it, thoroughly understand the underlying logical principles of study and work, and then no matter how difficult the knowledge is, you can learn it without a teacher and internalize it in your heart.

No matter how insignificant the work may seem, you can do it to the utmost and be irreplaceable. In the process of learning and working, you can break through your original limits, glimpse the truth of the world that ordinary people cannot see, and gain new discoveries that no one has ever made before.

After several years, he wrote books to teach and impart his experience and know-how to the world, promoting social progress.

There are real practitioners, but there are more fake practitioners in the world.

These people are not practicing, but practicing, doing superficial work all year round.

Just like fake literary youths, they don’t love reading and art from the bottom of their hearts, but like to create a “literary atmosphere” for others to see, so as to achieve inner satisfaction. The same is true for fake practitioners. They like to behave and dress mysteriously, and they like to make themselves look unfathomable.

Something that can be explained in a simple and easy-to-understand way has to be explained in an obscure and difficult way, leaving the person seeking the answer confused.

If someone asks them a few questions, they will immediately become very secretive, not telling others the whole story, and only telling half the story. But most of the time, because they themselves only have a limited understanding, they can only express what they have seen by imitating others.

There are also some practitioners who often talk about how many ancient books they have read, reciting them verbatim, and never express what they have learned from the ancient books. They can only float on the surface and follow the formalities, but not learn the charm of the ancient books.

What is a true practitioner like?

What practitioners cultivate is always the soul, the mind, and the consciousness, not the superficial externalities or "eight-legged essays."

They do not have high pursuit of material desires, but pay more attention to spiritual things.

If you meet some practitioners who say they are willing to teach you and accept you as their disciple, and then offer you an absurdly high tuition fee, please stay away from them and say goodbye.

They are basically scammers. This is not spiritual practice, it is money-making.

No practitioner would take in a disciple for the purpose of making money. A true practitioner would take in a disciple based on the other person's spirituality, the purpose of the practitioner, whether the disciple is pious, whether the disciple is reverent, whether the disciple can persevere... They would consider the disciple's inner heart and keep the fee within a reasonable range.

People who practice cultivation cultivate freedom, not constraints.

For example, if you feel restrained in various ways during your practice, then you are on the wrong track and should stop immediately. Practice is about opening your heart, not closing it, and it is about making you suddenly enlightened.

As a practitioner, what you cultivate is thought, not words. It is not important how many books you have read, both ancient and modern, both Chinese and foreign. What is important is what thoughts you have absorbed from those books? Have you realized new truths? Have you solved any problems? Have you been enlightened from them?

Practitioners cultivate inner wealth, not material wealth. If one practices for the purpose of making money, under the guise of "cultivating", but is actually "cultivating the body", one may really be able to make a lot of money, but it is ultimately a scam.

In the end, there must be something evil going on, and there won't be a good ending.

Most practitioners are low-key and not ostentatious. They don't want to be known by too many people, and don't want to be chased by believers like a star. This is not good for their practice at all, it just disturbs their practice.

There are many practitioners in our daily lives. They have multiple identities and are hidden among us. As long as they don’t preach to you or reveal their hearts to you, you may not be able to tell them apart. You may just think they are ordinary colleagues, ordinary friends, ordinary relatives, and so on.

A practitioner with multiple identities, he may be a cheerful boss in the business world, he may be a college student on campus, he may be a small vendor on the street, he may be a busy doctor in the hospital, he may be a free traveler...

They also listen to pop songs, watch movies, read entertainment gossip, eat McDonald's, KFC, and spicy hot pot... (End of this chapter)
