Chapter 416: The Roots of the World, the Fountain of Desire

Chapter 416: The Roots of the World, the Fountain of Desire

At the same time, at the far end of the Nine Realms, in Jotunheim, the country of giants, another drama comparable to the destruction of Midgard is about to be staged.

Passing through the endless frost-covered snowfields, the kingdom of giants stands in this extremely harsh world, flashing a magnificent and primitive atmosphere.

This is one of the most important origins of the World Tree, and it is also the residence of all frost giants and mountain giants. The power of nature is displayed particularly wildly here. Only in such a place can such a primitive and great life form as giants be born.

Of course, similar to all other realms, there are also countless realm cracks here at this moment, randomly opening entrances to the void of the universe.

A golden light expanded from one of the cracks in the boundary, and then a dazzling light opened up, bringing with it the power of the divine realm.

Odin, the Supreme Lord, King of the Dead, God of Runes, Father of Gods, and King of Gods from the Divine Realm, came from Valhalla on endless golden light and stepped into this land that is the mortal enemy of the Divine Realm.

Behind Him, a golden glow like the sun formed invisible wings, as if some kind of super-conceptual floating spacecraft was carrying His army. On the wings stood one of His knights, the Evil Spirit Bat, holding chains and leading two prisoners with him.

The old chosen champion, Tain, and the god of trickery, Loki.

After obtaining the Infinity Gauntlet, "Odin" - or Sam, has rushed to the Land of Giants without stopping, ready to start the next step of His plan.

"Let's go, Gaul might be waiting for me." Sam smiled softly.

As the supreme authority rose in His hands, huge wings woven from light began to glide above the boundless pristine snowfield, vibrating the auroras hundreds of kilometers away, and slowly drifted towards the unclear front.

The dark night pressed ahead, with endless wind and snow constantly covering the light emitted by the pair of wings. Although such a miracle was already very transcendent, the night of Jotunheim was still too dark, and even the power of the gods could only illuminate the faint road ahead.

This is a world where the interstellar sun does not pass through, and it is the primitive land where giants are born. The endless winter begins and ends here, and the wild power of nature is roaring all the time.

But such a seemingly harsh world is actually the cradle of countless primitive lives.

The blizzard covering the ground blew away, and beneath the wind and snow was a vibrant world. Tyin saw primitive beasts over a hundred meters in size galloping across the snowfield, hunting four-legged beasts smaller than themselves, or running birds that had just grown wings.

This is not the kind of weird evolution in the kingdom of elves that would make people feel physically uncomfortable, but the most primitive and simple vitality, four-legged beasts shaped like saber-toothed tigers, slender-legged wolves that can hunt in groups, and running birds that are just learning to fly.

It's like a geological era when life exploded.

As the giant wings of light glided, they soon left the snowfield and slid into the depths of the snowstorm.

Incomparably huge buildings and traces of roads measured in kilometers began to appear on the ground, indicating that they were approaching the civilization of the Land of Giants.

The sound of war drums could be heard faintly in the distance. That was the battlefield between God's Realm and Jotunheim. The gods, who were still kept in the dark, were still fighting fiercely with the giants over there, but Sam had already gone deep into the other side and reached the end of a certain miracle.

A huge rift appeared below them, soaked in some indescribable golden liquid, extending all the way forward. This long river rift that looked like magma was obviously the source of life here. Tyin saw countless tiny lives born along this long river, and every drop of it was a high concentration of divine power that mortals could hardly imagine, surging with primitive pure power.

He commanded the giant wings of light to continue moving forward until they reached the end of the rift.

The root of the World Tree, the fountain of wisdom and knowledge, suddenly appeared before Him.

Across the rift, the source of the golden springs appeared before everyone's eyes as if clouds and mist had been cleared away. It was a miracle that could not be described in words. The golden springs, which were tens of thousands of meters wide, stood there like a crater, surging with a vast amount of divinity that even the gods could not imagine.

The civilization of the giants was built around the spring, as if they were using the earth as paper to draw neat and simple circles, squares and triangles. These roads and cities have existed for more than hundreds of thousands of years, and have accumulated ancient majesty over a long period of time, which makes people want to worship just by seeing them.

This was the first time that Tain - and even Loki - arrived at the end of the world. The world tree Yggdrasil encompassed all known realms, and three thick roots extended from the roots of this cosmic tree.

One of them is located in Asgard, the supreme realm of God, and is guarded by the three goddesses of Norn who weave fate. It is where the fountain of fate, the Spring of Urd, is located, and it is also the largest holy place in the realm of God.

The second is located in Jotunheim, the country of giants, guarded by the world of giants. It is the fountain of wisdom and knowledge and the source of all mysteries and magical secrets.

The third one is located in Niflheim, the country of fog, and is deeply rooted in Hvergelmir, the original spring of the world. The black dragon Nidhogg is entrenched here, gnawing at the roots of the world tree day and night. When one day it is able to bite off the roots, Ragnarok will come.

And what is now presented before Sam is the fountain of wisdom for which the original god-king Odin sacrificed himself, hanging upside down for nine days and nine nights in exchange for his right eye.

Even today, the eye of the God King Odin is still immersed in the bottom of the fountain of wisdom, constantly stirring up endless divine storms.

This is the only eternal and unchanging law of nature in this world: equal exchange.

Even if you are the supreme king of gods, when you come to this world spring which is equivalent to a wishing machine, you still have to pay the same price to get what you want.

In these nine realms, there are almost no lives that can set foot in front of these world fountains. They are the roots of the world tree Yggdrasil. Almost everything can be modified and influenced from here. Therefore, these miracles that are equivalent to infinite wish machines will never appear in front of others easily, let alone get their approval and make a great wish that will affect the universe.

But now, since Sam has covered everything that Odin once possessed, he is naturally engraved with the mark of the Fountain of Wisdom and can once again step into this almost omnipotent fountain.

In front of this miracle that was enough to make all the gods tremble, the giant wings of light finally slowly stopped.

At this moment, a huge snowstorm rolled up from the ancient city on the ground, spreading towards them with an extremely cold storm, and a huge figure was swimming in the snowstorm.

"Sam, you're finally here..."
