Firstly, processes below 7 nanometers require EUV lithography machines.
Even with multiple exposure technology, DUV lithography machines can be used to mass-produce 7-nanometer chips or even 5-nanometer chips, but high-end DUV lithography machines are still needed!
For example, 1970i, 1980Di, 2000i, and higher-end models.
Among them, 1970i is the bottom line.
However, most of the lithography machines purchased by Xingyi Semiconductor before were 1950i.
Because Wang Yi bought a lot, each order was for dozens of units, which were large orders worth tens of billions of dollars, and because of Mr. Hu's face, ASML only recently started delivering the 1960i.
And next year, deliveries of the 1970i will begin!
EUV lithography machines use a lot of M technology.
ASML will block it.
However, the M technology used in DUV lithography machines is not much, nor is it the most advanced, and there is no blockade at present.
Even after many years, only EUV lithography machines and DUV lithography machines above 2000i are blocked.
Until 2024, M was desperate and even banned 1970i and 1980di.

With the 1970i DUV lithography machine, through multiple exposure technology, we can achieve 7nm or even 5nm process and mass produce 7nm or even 5nm chips!
Then there will be no worries at all.
As for the background program locking the lithography machine.
That would be equivalent to a complete break with the Xia Kingdom.
ASMI doesn't have the courage to do so, and they can't afford the consequences.
In fact, ASML never wants to impose a blockade unless the United States forces it into a corner.
Xiaguo has the largest market. Once it is locked, ASML’s revenue will be cut in half. Who can resist money?
More importantly, the system can be cracked.
If ASML can block it, Wang Yi can also crack it and flash the device.
Not to mention the lithography machine, even the F16 can be flashed.

TSMC spent hundreds of billions to buy the 1950i and 1960i. Will they all be eliminated in a few years?
Replace all with 2000i and EUV lithography machines?
This is unrealistic!
All of them were purchased with real money, an investment of hundreds of billions. Even TSMC, a big company like Taiwan, cannot afford it.
I can't bear to eliminate it at all.
But the process precision is indeed not enough, what should we do?
Upgrade the lithography machine!
You should know that ASML's DUV lithography machine, from the previous 1900 to the current 1950i, 960i, 1970i, and then to the future 2000i, was not developed from scratch.
But it is constantly upgraded and transformed!
Until the EUV lithography machine, it was developed from scratch, with a brand new system and brand new technology.
Therefore, TSMC, Intel, and Samsung's 1950i and 1960i will all have some components upgraded by ASML after many years, thus becoming '1980Di'!
Similarly, Xingyi Semiconductor's 1950i and 1960i can also be upgraded to 1980Di.
As for the solution, one is to ask ASML for help.
Before Emperor M goes to extremes, this is possible, just pay the money.
But after the cornered situation, the possibility of this is very small.
There is only one solution: be self-reliant.
Form a technical team. Even if we cannot develop a lithography machine, we must be able to upgrade it.
Not much more is needed. Upgrading the 1950i to the level of the 1970i and upgrading the 1960i to the level of the 1980di is enough.
But the difficulty level is still very high, and it would be difficult to rely solely on Xingyi Technology.
But with the addition of Modou Microelectronics, that won’t be a big problem.
Modou Microelectronics is capable of independently developing DUV lithography machines, so it is not difficult to simply upgrade the ASML lithography machines.
Wang Yi has a plan, so this matter needs to be prepared in advance.
After this period is over, I will invest in Modou Microelectronics!
Whether it is to realize the localization of DUV lithography machines or to upgrade 1950i/1960i in a few years, you have to invest in Modou Microelectronics.
There are also high-quality companies such as Changchun Institute of Optoelectronics and Zhongwei Semiconductor, which are all worth investing in.
By then, Modou Microelectronics will realize the localization of DUV lithography machines.
SMIC and North Huachuang have achieved localization of etching machines.

By then, the domestic semiconductor field will rise comprehensively, completely break the blockade, and stand up completely!

The gap is not too big and the opponent is not invincible.
There is hope for the future.
