I also have a bank of heaven and earth, I will lend it to you, but after you drink Meng Po soup, you will forget this matter, so when you find that your fortune is not good, your career is difficult to succeed, and your health is not good, you are an official of the underworld. I'm asking for a debt from you.
Although this statement is orthodox in Taoism and can be found in many "Shu Sheng Jing", it is contrary to orthodox Taoist thought.
Buddhism is about cultivating the afterlife. If you accumulate virtue and do good deeds in this life and practice hard, you will find a good family in the next life. All your results are reflected in the elusive and untestable afterlife.
This is not the case with Taoism. Taoism advocates cultivating the present life. In the early days of Taoism, there was no talk about past lives and present lives. If you don’t even have an afterlife, then where did you get the past life?
You didn't have any in your previous life, so how can you owe any debt? So if you look at many "Sutras of Rebirth", they all matured after Buddhism was introduced to China, and they were basically from the Wei, Jin, Southern and Northern Dynasties to the Tang and Song Dynasties when Buddhism was at its peak.
Buddhism and Taoism have learned a lot from each other.
Among them, the complete system of the underworld is derived from Taoism and Buddhism.
So if you look at the Tao Te Ching, the supreme Taoist classic, there is not a single sentence in the entire text about what happened in the past life or what the future life will be like.
So why should we learn from Buddhism to create this set of things?
For example, there are two mobile phone stores. The quality of the mobile phones in both stores is very good, and the mobile phone screens are made of high-strength glass. Even if they were thrown to the ground from the fifth floor, there would not be even a scratch. However, one store provides film sticking services. The other one didn't.
You go to this store to buy a mobile phone and ask it to put a film on it for you. The store will say, "Our phones are of high quality and we don't need to put a film on them."
But customers don’t think so. They think your service is poor and run to the next store to buy.
The store owner took a look and realized that this was not possible.
Not only did the bald boss next door earn all this money, but customers also thought the quality was good.
So this store also started to provide film wrapping services. If the underworld really provides this kind of service that can guarantee wealth in this life, surely no one will not borrow money, right?
Then there should be no poor people in this world.
Let’s do some economic calculations again. Only a few people know the concept of yin debt. Those who know it will pay off yin debt. That’s very few. How many bad debts must there be in the world’s banks?
Another theory, which is common in folk schools, is that Yin debts are debts you owed in your previous life. They are not necessarily money, but more likely evil deeds. If you did not pay them off in your previous life, you need to pay them off in this life. If you do not change, the consequences will be similar to the first theory.
I also disagree with this statement.
When it comes to Yin debt, it is easy for everyone to think of another word: Yin virtue.
As for yin virtue, generally people think that doing good deeds is to accumulate yin virtue. Everyone knows this.
But why should we put the word "yin" before virtue, which doesn't sound so good?
I also think it has something to do with the dimension below, but that’s not what I mean.
Yin virtue refers to the secret and unknown virtue, and its counterpart is yang goodness. For example, if you save a child who fell into the water, you will leave neither name behind, but turn around and leave, hiding your merit and fame.
This is accumulating negative virtue, but if you post a video after saving someone and express your joy of doing good, this is doing positive good.
It should be noted that both are doing good deeds and will be rewarded. There is no distinction between the two.
It does not mean that you should be more noble if you do good deeds without leaving your name. Even if you talk about the good deeds you have done, it will play a very good role in promoting good and promoting social atmosphere.
The only difference between the two is that God rewards you in different ways. If you do good deeds, God will reward you with relatively predictable rewards, such as a good reputation and a banner awarded by the community for your courageous actions.
If you host a live broadcast, everyone will be willing to give you some small gifts.
And Yin De is equivalent to you getting a chance to open a blind box from God. There are definitely rewards, but what are they? have no idea.
When will it be given to you? do not know either.
To give another example, you were born as a tree, and this is your destiny.
One day a bald guy comes and wants to chop you off. This is luck.
Accumulating yin virtue means that you silently provide shelter from the sun and rain for the people in the village, and produce sweet fruits for others to enjoy.
The people in the village naturally have feelings for you, and they are usually willing to give you some water and fertilizer to make you grow better.
If you see someone reading a book, you will naturally run out to stop them, thereby avoiding the bad luck of being cut down.
This is why accumulating yin virtue can change destiny, and when it comes to accumulating yin virtue, we have to mention the saying "good people will be rewarded".
Although we all agree, there are always negative examples in reality, which make us lament the injustice of nature and why good people are not rewarded.
But in fact, everyone has misunderstood this sentence.
Good rewards are not the same as material rewards. Material rewards are just one kind of good rewards. More often, God will reward you in other ways, and you may not be able to perceive it.
Most of the suffering stories in reality are just because the material conditions are not good enough. You can't do a good deed and get a million yuan at the door the next day, and then God will tell you, this Is it the cash that God rewards you for doing good deeds?
If that were the case, the river would have been crowded with people waiting to save the child.
