Why did the post-war economic development of Eastern European countries lag far behind that of Western Europe? Compared with the "economic integration" in Western Europe, the Soviet Union's "economic integration" was not for development, but for control... After all, poor brothers are easier to control!

And what about the United States?

After Western European countries completed post-war reconstruction and their economies took off, what did the United States gain? A group of wealthy followers. Maybe those followers had some small thoughts, but they still stood on the side of the United States in the end.

Just like in the late Cold War, Reagan demanded to increase the embargo on the Soviet Union and even asked German society to stop cooperating with the Soviet Union. In the end, the Soviet Union, with a group of poor brothers, disappeared, while the United States, with a group of rich brothers, won the Cold War.

With the Soviet Union's high pressure, the Soviet Union's circle of friends collapsed.

In contrast, the Western circle of friends led by the United States is relatively more stable, despite internal competition and conflicts.

Because they are highly interdependent and integrated economically, and this dependence does not rely on administrative orders but on the operation of the economy itself.
