Back to 80: My literary life.

Chapter 519: The Age of Awakening

Chapter 519: The Age of Awakening

A day later, Fang Minghua and his two companions ended their trip to Han Lake and boarded the train back to Xijing.

Overall, the 10-day trip was quite pleasant. I saw the beautiful scenery of Han Lake and the cultural relics. But drinking and dancing every day was a bit unbearable.

When he got home, his wife Song Tangtang came back in the evening. The couple snuggled on the sofa, and Fang Minghua told her about his trip to Han Lake.

Song Tangtang didn't say anything about her husband drinking and dancing. This is how it is in society nowadays, and Fang Minghua's behavior is relatively good.

He just touched the girl's little hand and hugged her slender waist, and did nothing else. Besides, Song Tangtang knew that Fang Minghua's dancing posture was very standard.

I wasn't too surprised when I heard him talk about "Cultural Essays".

My husband's talent in the field of literature is unquestionable. He has dabbled in novels, poetry, and literary theory, especially novels.

He can write avant-garde works that make people confused, such as "The Sun Also Rises", "Picnic at the Roadside", and "Little Dongmei's Travels in the Classic of Mountains and Seas", and he can also write popular martial arts novels like "The Swordsman in the Snow".

Of course, he is also good at writing romance novels. Song Tangtang even suspected that he could write erotic novels. The stories this guy told her during their sex life made her blush. How did he know so many embarrassing things?

Of course, this is only for her to hear, and cannot be told to other women.

"Okay, I have to get down to my business." Fang Minghua stood up and walked towards the study.

"What are you doing? Are you going to write that cultural essay of yours?" Song Tangtang asked subconsciously.

“Practice calligraphy!”

Who made me promise Xu Yue to write the cover for his magazine? What if I don't practice well and get laughed at by Jia Pingwa and the others?
Of course, he wants to start writing the cultural essay as soon as possible.

In addition to the cultural history of the Tianhan area, Fang Minghua also plans to write about what he saw and heard along the way to Baiyin, Gansu Province, forming a series.

Of course, writing this kind of humanities history requires relatively detailed historical data, otherwise it would be a joke. Before leaving Tianhan, Fang Minghua asked Wang Peng to get the county chronicles of various counties in the Tianhan area, as well as archaeological data of famous historical sites such as the Baohe Ancient Plank Road and Wumen Weir. He also had to go to Xida to check relevant information.

The predecessor of Northwest University was the National Northwest United University. During the Anti-Japanese War, some teachers and students of Northwest United University moved to the Tianhan area and established the Northwest United University College of Engineering, College of Law and Business, College of Agriculture, etc., which were distributed in various counties in Tianhan.

While studying, teachers and students conducted archaeological research on the cultural relics and historical sites in the Tianhan area, forming a wealth of historical materials, which are all treasured in the Xida Library, and are exactly what Fang Minghua needs.

This afternoon, Fang Minghua drove to the Xida Library, parked his car on the street opposite the Xida gate, and walked into the campus by himself.

Every time Fang Minghua came to Xida, he basically drove, but the car never went inside the campus and was always parked outside the campus.

In this era, university campuses are still a pure land, so there is no need to drive in to show off.

The weather is nice today, with a gentle breeze and sunny days. Fang Minghua walks on the campus and meets students who greet him from time to time.

"Teacher Fang."

"Professor Fang"

Fang Minghua responded with a smile.

Fang Minghua is now a visiting professor at Xi'an University. He lectures to both undergraduate and graduate students. Many students come to his lectures because of his reputation, and many of them know him.

Fortunately, now that we have entered the 1990s, the literary fever has begun to cool down. Unlike the early 1980s, when those literary enthusiasts would either bring their own poems and novels to ask writers for advice or discuss literature without thinking about anything else.

Fang Minghua turned a corner and saw an old man in front of him: Liu Jianjun, vice president of Xi'an University and former head of the Chinese Department.

"Principal Liu" Fang Minghua greeted him proactively.

"Minghua, are you here to look up information?" Liu Jianjun said.

"Yes, I want to write some travel essays."

Liu Jianjun was surprised when he heard this.

"Prose? Minghua, I've seen you write novels, poems, and literary theory, but I've never seen you write prose."

"I went to Tianhan not long ago and visited some historical and cultural sites, so I wanted to write about this." Fang Minghua answered truthfully.

"That's great. Let me read it after you finish writing it."

"I dare not. I will ask you to give me instructions when the time comes."

The two exchanged a few words and then left. Before leaving, Liu Jianjun did not forget to say a few words.

"Minghua, you have to come to school to give lectures soon."

I.
Fang Minghua is a visiting professor at Xi'an University. There is no specific arrangement for his lecture schedule, but he is guaranteed to give a certain number of classes in a semester. He went to Tianhan for a visit some time ago and has not been to Xi'an University recently.

After a week of preparation, Fang Minghua finally started writing.

The first thing I saw in the museum was "Gunxue" written by Cao Cao, and then talked about the "Three Caos" and the "Seven Sages of the Jian'an Period", stating the historically famous "Jian'an Style" and calling it the "awakening age" of Chinese literature, because from this time on people began to realize that literature has its own value and independent status.

The title is "Awakening Age"

"In the national historical and cultural city, Han Lake, known as the "throat of Qinba and the hometown of plank roads", has experienced numerous historical relics since the Western Han Dynasty. The most famous one is the "treasure of the town" of HZ City Museum - the thirteen cliff stone carvings, namely the "Shimen Han and Wei Thirteen Pieces", which come from Baohe River.

"Xu Shen of the Eastern Han Dynasty wrote in "Shuowen Jiezi": "Han means Yang, and the east is Canglang River." The Han River was originally named Yangshui. Because the Han tribe of Emperor Yao's eldest son Jianming (whose name was Han) was relocated here, "Yang" was changed to "Han".

"The pre-Qin work "Classic of Mountains and Seas: Classic of Western Mountains" says: "The Han River originates from the Panzhong Mountain and flows southeastward to the Mian River." In the Baohe River Valley where the Mian River merges with the Han River, the cliff carvings reveal this long-forgotten history, as if everything in the past has been revealed."

"History, anchored by the water, is like a rickety little boat; the pain, however, has long been deserted, leaving only suspicious mosses covering the sharp edges left by knives and axes and the two big characters "Gunxue"

Another article, "The Columbus of the East", describes Zhang Qian, the pioneer of the Silk Road, who was sent to the Western Regions during the Western Han Dynasty, and discusses ancient China's opening up to the outside world, "the world is one, and all nations are in harmony"...

There is also a piece called "Night Rain in Bashan", which was written when I passed by the foot of Bashan Mountain and recalled Li Shangyin's famous seven-character quatrain "Night Rain Sent to the North" "You ask me when I will return, but I have no idea. The night rain in Bashan Mountain swells the autumn pond. When will we cut the candle in the west window together and talk about the night rain in Bashan Mountain?" It discusses "homesickness" as an eternal theme of Chinese literati...
Of course, there is also a trip to Wumenyan to fulfill the words of that old man named Yang.

Yu Qiuyu has an essay called "Dujiangyan" that you can refer to. The title of the essay is "From Dujiangyan to Wumenyan".

"People like Li Bing and Tang Lefang should be commemorated in a quiet place. Building a Erwang Temple or Tang Gong Temple would also be in line with the people's wishes.

"When people who truly benefit the people are promoted to gods, the world of gods will become reasonable, peaceful and approachable. Chinese religions have a lot of secular flavor, so secular human feelings will also be stained with religious spots. As a result, Dujiangyan and Wumenyan have become bridge piers connecting the two worlds."

Fang Minghua wrote four articles in one breath.
