Soul Ferry: My master is Uncle Jiu

Chapter 384 An Yan said that there are monsters outside the circle

Chapter 384 An Yan said that there are monsters outside the circle

into the night.

A bonfire was lit in the wilderness, echoing the starry sky.

In front of a mound of earth, Tang Sanzang, who had finished reciting a round of scriptures, stopped.

The memorial service has not ended yet, this is just halftime.

Beside the campfire, An Yan was meditating. Sun Wukong was bored and was stirring up the fire. When he saw that his master had finally stopped, Sun Wukong asked happily, "Master, are you done?"

"The ritual of salvation should not be taken lightly. I am only here to eat something and replenish my energy." Tang Sanzang sat down and said, "Give me some dry food and water."

These dry rations were prepared by Liu Bochin. After eating them, they would soon have to go back to eating wild fruits and vegetables.

An Yan, who was meditating, opened his eyes and looked at Tang Sanzang, who was busy and thirsty, and said, "Sanzang, they are all evildoers. You have done your best by reciting two rounds. Why do you have to work so hard?"

Anyway, if it were him, he would have gone to great lengths to help him transcend because he was afraid that he would become a fierce ghost.

Now, if anyone dares to come back to find him, he must let him know how many eyes the Horse King has.

Tang Sanzang shook his head and said, "Please seek peace of mind."

"Master, you'll get used to it." Sun Wukong handed over dry food and a water bag.

"Wukong, this isn't like eating, how can you just get used to it?" Tang Sanzang said with amusement.

"Now that you have entered my monastery, you must follow the Buddhist rules and regulations and never kill animals at will as you did before."

Sun Wukong agreed quickly, "I know, I know, I will obey you."

An Yan laughed secretly when he saw this. This was just like what he had promised before that he would study hard.

After agreeing, Sun Wukong became a little unsteady at the thought of sitting like this all night, as if he had fleas on his body.

He rolled his eyes and said to Tang Sanzang, "Master, if you have nothing to do tonight, can you let me go back to Huaguo Mountain to see my monkeys and grandchildren?"

"I, Old Sun, haven't been home for five hundred years."

An Yan's eyes lit up when he heard that. To be honest, he had never been to the Flower-Fruit Mountain. Although it was no longer as beautiful as it used to be, since he was already there, it would be a shame not to check in.

He immediately said, "Wukong, how about I go with you?"

"Ang'er, you want to go too? That's a good thing!" Sun Wukong said happily. He loved making friends the most, otherwise he wouldn't have had so many sworn brothers back then.

"When we get to Huaguo Mountain, I will definitely invite you to taste our peaches."

Hearing that Sun Wukong had not returned home for 500 years, Tang Sanzang's heart softened. But when he heard that An Yan was also leaving, he looked at the wilderness outside the campfire and said helplessly: "You all left, and I am the only one left. How can I take care of the horses and luggage?"

With his level, if he encounters a wild beast, I'm afraid he won't have enough points.

Although An Yan taught him the secret of cultivation, in the past two days he was either helping Wukong sew clothes or getting robbed, so he had no time to practice.

"Master, this is easy. Just look at me." Sun Wukong reached into his ears, took out his golden cudgel, and then drew a big circle on the ground, trapping Tang Sanzang inside.

Once the circle was formed, a golden light flashed.

Tang Sanzang asked puzzledly: "What is this?"

Sun Wukong explained: "Master, this is the circle I drew. As long as you don't get out of this circle, those demons, ghosts, wolves, tigers and leopards can't get in and hurt you."

Looking at this ordinary circle, Tang Sanzang was slightly surprised. He didn't expect that this circle was so effective.

With this circle of assurance, he was not so scared anymore.

An Yan, who was standing next to him, saw the golden circle and thought of Tang Sanzang's good character, which was the same as Dong Qing's. He felt that he needed to give a reminder.

"Sanzang, no matter who calls you outside, don't go out, especially if you hear someone calling you for help."

"Why?" Tang Sanzang was stunned.

"Look at this place in the middle of nowhere, and it's the middle of the night. Where could this living person come from? Most likely he is a monster in disguise." An Yan pointed out.

Tang Sanzang looked at the wilderness outside the circle, and a picture suddenly appeared in his mind. He was startled and nodded quickly to promise: "Until you come back, I will not go out no matter who calls me."

"Just in case, you can take my whisk for self-defense." An Yan pointed at the whisk and handed it to Tang Sanzang.

He was not a child, and although he felt that An Yan was making a big deal out of nothing, Tang Sanzang still took it.

An Yan is right, just in case.

"Master, then you can recite the sutra slowly. I, Old Sun, and An Ge'er will go."

Seeing that everything was arranged, Sun Wukong and An Yan rode away on a cloud.

Looking at the two people coming and going freely, Tang Sanzang showed a hint of envy in his eyes. Thinking of the cultivation techniques in his hands, his heart flashed with heat.

After eating some dry food and drinking some water, Tang Sanzang continued his ritual to pray for the salvation of souls.

This world is not like the Earth, which is round and flat as described in myths and legends.

Even though An Yan and Sun Wukong traveled across continents and arrived at the Dongsheng Continent, the earth was still dark and the stars were low.

On the way, Sun Wukong boasted to An Yan, "Brother An, my Flower-Fruit Mountain is a great place. It is the ancestor of the Ten Continents and the source of the Three Islands. It is full of wonders and beauty."

An Yan didn't bother to show off, and said with a smile, "Then I'll have to appreciate it."

"necessary!"

Soon, the two passed through Aolai Kingdom and a vast ocean appeared, which was the East China Sea.

Looking at the familiar waves, which had not changed in five hundred years, Sun Wukong was filled with emotion, "Five hundred years have passed, and I am finally back."

Even Sun Wukong could not help but become anxious. Without caring about An Yan, he leaped over the East China Sea and landed on the Flower-Fruit Mountain.

An Yan followed closely, but found that Sun Wukong was standing in a daze in mid-air, staring blankly at the Flower-Fruit Mountain below. He followed his gaze.

I saw that the mountain was desolate, with no flowers or grass, broken peaks, and withered trees. It looked particularly desolate under the moonlight.

Sun Wukong landed on the mountain with tears in his eyes. He said to Anyan who landed beside him: "It's all my fault. If I hadn't caused trouble for the heavenly officials, this mountain wouldn't be in its current state." "It's fate and time. Don't blame yourself, Wukong." An Yan sighed.

The rise and fall of Huaguo Mountain was due to Wukong. Since ancient times, there has been no better example of success or failure.

"It's all in the past. There's no point in being sentimental. Just see if any of your monkeys or grandchildren are still alive."

"That's right! My monkey grandchildren!"

Sun Wukong was anxious when he heard this, and shouted at the top of his lungs: "My fellow lads! Your Great Sage is back!"

Not long after An Yan and Sun Wukong left, Tang Sanzang, who was chanting sutras to pray for the souls of the dead, heard a voice calling out, "Where are you from, elder? Why are you chanting sutras alone to pray for the souls of the dead?"

Tang Sanzang, who was reciting sutras, heard the question and subconsciously opened his eyes. He saw an old woman with a basket standing right outside the circle.

Tang Sanzang was shocked and quickly clasped his hands together, closed his eyes, and began to recite scriptures with a trembling voice. He secretly groaned in his heart, how could he encounter a monster?

Fortunately, there is Wukong's golden ring, so the monster seems unable to get in.

Guanyin, who had transformed into an old woman, saw Tang Sanzang's dead look, her face twitched and she scolded him, "What an impolite monk! Do you think I'm a monster?"

Tang Sanzang paused in his chanting and said nervously, "An Yan said that there are monsters outside the circle."

"Monster! Don't try to deceive me!"

Guanyin then realized that she was standing right outside the circle. She could no longer pretend and revealed her true form. Rays of light and auspicious aura illuminated the darkness.

"Xuanzang, open your eyes and take a good look at who I am."

Unexpectedly, Tang Sanzang closed his eyes even tighter, and his voice became more trembling: "Your voice has changed, and you still say you are not a monster?"

What normal person has one voice at a time?

"Bastard!"

"You don't even recognize my voice?"

The Bodhisattva Guanyin, who was sitting on the lotus seat, was very angry, but she didn't expect that she would make things worse.

Hearing this angry voice, Tang Sanzang was stunned. After being reminded like this, it really seemed a little familiar. He opened his eyes a little and saw Guanyin Bodhisattva with a sullen look on her face.

Tang Sanzang then opened his eyes and hurriedly bowed on the spot, saying, "Xuanzang is paying homage to Avalokitesvara Bodhisattva, not knowing that it is the Bodhisattva himself who is here. What a sin, what a sin."

Seeing that Tang Sanzang had no intention of moving, Guanyin Bodhisattva took a deep breath, otherwise she was afraid she would not be able to help but hit him.

This An Yan is absolutely a monster and the nemesis of Buddhism. How could he turn the simple Xuanzang into this in just a few days?

However, business was more important now. It was rare that An Yan and Sun Wukong were not here. She asked, "Xuanzang, didn't I arrange a disciple to escort you to the West to obtain the scriptures? Why are you alone?"

Hearing this, Tang Sanzang finally confirmed that the person in front of him was indeed Guanyin Bodhisattva, and hurriedly said: "Wukong has gone home to visit his relatives and will be back tomorrow."

"This monkey, I asked him to protect you in your quest for the scriptures, but he dared to abandon you without permission?"

Before Guanyin could finish, Tang Sanzang corrected her, "Bodhisattva, you are wrong. It was me who allowed Wukong to go back."

"It's too pitiful that you haven't been home for five hundred years."

Guanyin ignored him and continued, "This monkey has a bad temper."

"Bodhisattva, you are wrong again. Wukong works hard and respects me as his master."

"."

Guanyin Bodhisattva looked at Tang Sanzang, with veins bulging slightly on his forehead.

Tang Sanzang tilted his head, "Buddha, why do you seem angry? Who has offended you?"

He is a Buddhist!
He is a Buddhist!
calm down!

calm down!

Guanyin Bodhisattva consoled herself, barely suppressed the urge to hit him, and said with a forced smile, "Really? Then I will give you these two hats inlaid with gold flowers. When Wukong comes back, you can give them to him as a reward."

Tang Sanzang stepped forward to take them. Looking at the two flower hats in his hands, he looked at Guanyin Bodhisattva again, "Bodhisattva, is the other one given to me?"

"No, that is for your second disciple." Guanyin, who was afraid that Tang Sanzang would put it on himself, said.

"Oh!"

Tang Sanzang did not make a fuss, but asked in confusion: "I have a second disciple?"

Guanyin Bodhisattva nodded and said, "It's 18000 miles from here to the Great Leiyin Temple. Wukong alone can't protect you."

"It's okay. I still have An Yan to keep me company."

“There is a difference between Buddhism and Taoism.”

“But what I saw and heard along the way didn’t make any difference,” Tang Sanzang asked doubtfully.

Guanyin was speechless and said, "You must know that there is a difference between Buddhism and Taoism. Don't associate with that Taoist."

"I will teach you another spell, called the Tightening Spell. If your disciple disobeys you one day, you will recite this spell."

Seeing that Tang Sanzang was about to speak again, Guanyin touched his forehead without saying anything, and a flash of inspiration fell into Tang Sanzang's mind.

Tang Sanzang smiled bitterly. Although he felt that he didn't need it, facing the kindness of Guanyin Bodhisattva, he had to thank her.

Seeing Tang Sanzang thanking her, Guanyin's expression relaxed, "Remember what I said."

"Xuan Zang dare not forget what the Bodhisattva said."

Tang Sanzang assured.

Guanyin nodded and turned into golden light and left.
