Daughter of aristocratic family

Chapter 45 Heart Sutra

Chapter 45 Heart Sutra
Old Mrs. Zhao suddenly asked everyone to copy the Heart Sutra. It goes without saying who had the idea. Everyone looked at Zhao Shuqing with reproachful eyes, really looking for trouble.

After Mrs. Zhao and Mrs. Zhao walked away, Zhao Shuqing defended herself: "I didn't tell the old lady to let everyone copy the Heart Sutra together."

"If you hadn't been so busy copying the Heart Sutra to the old lady, how could the old lady have thought of letting us copy the Heart Sutra?" Zhao Yuxiu said bluntly.

"I, I didn't expect this." Zhao Shuqing bit her lip, her eyes were red, looking like she had been wronged.

"Don't act like we're bullying you, it's obviously you who has caused us trouble." Zhao Yuxiu said angrily.

"Forget it, Sister Xiu." Zhao Shuhui advised.

"The Heart Sutra only has 260 words. If you copy it a hundred times, it will only be 26,000 words. The old lady did not set a time limit for copying it out. Just copy it slowly." Zhao Wangshu said softly.

"I'm afraid that some people will try to please others and finish the copying in one night, which will make us look lazy." Zhao Shuangzhi said in a sinister tone.

Zhao Shuqing now likes Mrs. Zhao even more, and Zhao Shuangzhi doesn't like her anymore.

"I won't do that." Zhao Shuqing looked at Zhao Wangshu, "Sister Shu."

Zhao Wangshu ignored her. He couldn't eat or sleep well when he came to worship Buddha in the temple. She even found something for everyone to do and didn't slap her in the face, which was a sign of mercy.

"Lvzhi, you go to the little master in the temple and ask for a few copies of the Heart Sutra and pen, ink, paper and inkstones." Zhao Wangshu said.

"Yes, girl." Luzhi responded.

Zhao Jiahua also ordered: "Feng Ling, you come with me."

"Luzhi, remember to give the little master incense money." Zhao Wangshu added.

"Got it, girl."

The girls of the Zhao family spent the afternoon copying the Heart Sutra, and had no way of knowing that Xie Xin had come and left again.

During evening classes, the old ladies from other houses knew about this, so the girls in their houses were not allowed to hang out, and they were all copying the Heart Sutra in the meditation room.

Everyone came to the temple to worship the Buddha, but only the girls from the Zhao family copied it. They didn't copy it, and it spread to the ears of the Queen Mother that they were not pious, and their purpose of coming to worship the Buddha was not achieved.

Although he copied it slowly, if he didn't hand in a copy tomorrow, he might not be able to pass the old lady's test. After the evening class, he returned to the meditation room, burned incense with his hands clean, and continued to copy the Heart Sutra.

Copying the Heart Sutra is very labor-intensive. You must not copy a single word wrong, and you cannot correct any mistakes you make. The entire sheet must be copied again.

By the time Zhao Wangshu conscientiously finished copying the Heart Sutra, it was already midnight. He put down his pen, stood up, stretched, and opened the window. The moonlight poured into the house like water, and the temple was immersed in tranquility.

"Yeah." Was that a human figure that just flew by?
  Is it Yun Hao?
  Or someone else?
What secrets does this temple hold?
No matter what the secret is, it is not something that a weak woman like her can explore.

"Hong Chang, go get some water. I'm going to wash up and go to bed." Zhao Wangshu called.

Hong Chang, who was sitting there and picking her fingers out of boredom, immediately stood up and said, "I'm going to fetch some water."

After the master and servant washed themselves, they fell asleep peacefully and remained silent all night.

The next day, although Zhao Wangshu said he would not investigate, he still couldn't help but observe the monks in the temple, trying to get some clues.

It's just that she is not Sun Wukong, she doesn't have piercing eyes, and she doesn't know what is going on, so naturally she can't see anything. Fortunately, she is not someone who likes to get into trouble. After one day, she put this matter aside.

After lunch, Mrs. Zhao asked how many copies of the Heart Sutra the girls had copied.

"I've made a copy." Zhao Wangshu took the paper from Lu Zhi and handed it to Magpie, who then showed it to Mrs. Zhao. Mrs. Zhao looked through it and said, "The writing is good, but it's been a day, why did I just copy it?"

"I'm afraid of copying mistakes, so I copy slowly." Zhao Wangshu found the reason casually.

Mrs. Zhao frowned and asked the others, "How many copies have you copied?"

"Old lady, I copied five copies." This was Zhao Shuqing with dark circles under her eyes. She was the only one who copied the most copies, while everyone else only copied one copy.

"Why can Shuqing make five copies, but you can only make one copy?" Old Mrs. Zhao asked.

"Sister Qing's grandmother believed in Buddhism. I guess Sister Qing is used to copying." Zhao Wangshu said calmly.

"The Buddha's birthday will be in a few days. You should quickly copy out a hundred copies of the Heart Sutra so that they can be enshrined in front of the Buddha that day." Mrs. Zhao said.

Yesterday she said that she didn't have a time limit and could copy it slowly. Today she has a time limit and it's still so short. Today is already the third day of April, and the eighth day of April is the Buddha's birthday.

It is still possible to copy a hundred copies, but it will be very hard.

Old Mrs. Zhao couldn't tolerate their refusal, "Okay, everyone goes back to their rooms, and hurry up and copy it."

Coming out of the room, Zhao Yuxiu and Zhao Shuangzhi asked Zhao Shuqing in unison, "Are you talking to the old lady?"

"I didn't." Zhao Shuqing immediately denied it.

"If I knew it was your greedy words that caused us to stay up late to read the Heart Sutra, I wouldn't let you go." Zhao Shuangzhi said the harsh words and walked away.

Zhao Shuqing said nervously: "It's really not me, it's really not me." Then he looked at Zhao Wangshu and said, "Sister Shu, believe me."

"I can't believe it." Zhao Wangshu turned and left.

"I really made a mistake. I thought you were a good person, but I didn't expect it." Zhao Jiahua snorted coldly, "Cousin, let's go."

Zhao Shuhui and Zhao Yuying pulled Zhao Yuxiu away, leaving Zhao Shuqing standing there with an aggrieved face and tears in his eyes.

On the eighth day of April, Buddha's birthday is also called the Buddha Bathing Festival. According to Buddhist legend, on the day when Sakyamuni was born, nine dragons spit perfume from their mouths and bathed the Buddha's body.

On every Buddha's birthday, Buddhists hold a Buddha bathing activity.

After morning classes, the monks put the prepared fragrant flowers and spices into the water, and then poured some special mysterious herbs into a container carved into a dragon shape to simulate the scene of nine dragons spitting perfume from their mouths.

Flower petals are sprinkled in every corner of the temple, and the fragrance of flowers is everywhere.

For Buddhists, bathing the Buddha is not only a ritual, but also an expression of faith.

They believe that by bathing the Buddha, they can wash away their inner troubles and dirt and achieve spiritual purification and improvement.

Zhao Wangshu did not believe in Buddhism, but in the temple, she could only pretend to be a Buddhist, put on Haiqing, stood behind Mrs. Zhao, bowed her head, clasped her hands, and waited for the ceremony to begin.

The host wore brand-new dharma robes and stood on the high platform with a serious face. "Elders from all mountains, eminent monks, and believers, today is the birthday of the Buddha. Let us bathe in the Buddha together. May the Buddha bless us with peace, health, and happiness." ."

Melodious bells and chanting sounded, and then the monks slowly entered, holding fragrant flowers, sitting cross-legged on futons and leading believers to chant sutras and pray together to express their respect and gratitude to the Buddha.

While chanting sutras, believers bathed the Buddha statues with flower petals and nectar to express their love and respect for the Buddha.
