Chapter 505 Companion
Zhao Wangshu stayed at home to take care of her pregnancy and didn't know much about the rumors outside, but Yun Hao's busyness made her realize that something big was happening.

That night, Zhao Wangshu slept alone in bed. In her dream, she saw a group of people fighting. Amidst the flashing swords and shadows, she saw Yun Hao in military uniform.

An arrow shot from nowhere flew straight towards Yun Hao's chest.

"Yun Hao." Zhao Wangshu sat up suddenly, waking up from his sleep.

But the scene in the dream was too real, making her heart beat like a drum and beads of sweat oozing from her forehead. For a moment, she couldn't tell whether it was a dream or reality.

"Wangshu." The curtain was lifted and Yun Hao appeared in front of her. "What's wrong?"

"Yun, Yunhao." Zhao Wangshu stretched out his hand.

Yun Hao held her hand and sat down beside the bed. "Don't be afraid, I'm here."

Zhao Wangshu looked at him steadily without saying anything.

He gently wiped the sweat off her forehead with a handkerchief, his eyes full of pity, "It's my fault. I've been busy lately and haven't been able to be with you. I'm sorry for making you worry."

"Yun Hao, I'm so nervous. I always feel like something happened. Please don't hide it from me and make me think too much. Please tell me the truth, okay?" Zhao Wangshu begged.

"Okay, I'll tell you." Yun Hao held her in his arms, "Your Majesty's health is not good. I'm afraid he won't survive this winter."

Zhao Wangshu was shocked. "Why is it so sudden?"

A few months ago, the emperor was still favoring Concubine Li, but a few months later she was sick and almost dying?

"Prince Zuo tampered with the medicine that Your Majesty took." Yun Hao said in a low voice.

Zhao Wangshu was even more shocked, "He is killing his father!"

"Prince Zuo has coveted the throne for a long time, but His Majesty has not only never thought of appointing him as the crown prince, but has also repeatedly suppressed him. Prince Zuo has no choice but to take the risk." Yun Hao said calmly.

"Then aren't you in danger?" Zhao Wangshu knew that Yun Hao had never accepted Zuo Jun's solicitation.

Yun Hao gently stroked Zhao Wangshu's back. "Wangshu, you don't need to worry too much. Although I have not been in cahoots with Prince Zuo, I am not defenseless. Even in the face of the biggest storm, I will do my best to protect you and our home."

"But since he has dared to attack Your Majesty, how could he let you go?" Zhao Wangshu's eyes were full of anxiety.

"Wangshu, no matter what happens, I will protect you and our child. You just need to take care of the baby and leave everything else to me." Yun Hao said firmly.

Zhao Wangshu snuggled up to Yun Hao's chest, listening to his steady and strong heartbeat, and his heart gradually calmed down.

Yun Hao coaxed her to sleep before taking a bath and changing clothes.

The next morning, when Zhao Wangshu got up, he rang the bell to call someone in to serve him, but unexpectedly, Yun Hao and Lan Fen came in together.

"Are you going to the yamen today?" Zhao Wangshu asked.

"I'll take a day off and stay at home with you." Yun Hao helped her up.

"I'm fine, you go and get busy." Zhao Wangshu didn't want to delay him from doing his work at this critical moment.

"There's nothing to do. I want to stay at home with you today." Yun Hao looked at her bulging belly with a hint of worry in his eyes.

Zhao Wangshu was pregnant with twins. He consulted the court doctor and learned that this was much more dangerous than having only one baby. He didn't want her to worry too much about him.

"Madam, please let me have half a day of leisure, okay?" Yun Hao said pitifully.

Zhao Wangshu chuckled, "Okay, let's spend this leisurely time together today. However, you have to promise me that if there is an emergency, you will go and do it, and you must not miss the important matter because of me." Yun Hao heard this and raised a doting smile at the corner of his mouth, "Yes, ma'am."

When Zhao Wangshu finished washing up, Xiao Yunyu came and greeted his parents, "Mom, I have to go to the front yard to go to school. I will be back in the evening to have dinner with you."

"Okay, Yuer, you must study hard." Zhao Wangshu said with a smile.

"My son will study hard. When he has learned it, he will teach his younger brother." Xiao Yunyu said seriously.

"Yuer is such a good brother. Mother would like to thank Yuer on behalf of her." Zhao Wangshu said with a smile.

"You're welcome." Xiao Yunyu bowed respectfully to his parents, then followed the maid out, taking his two servants with him, to the small study room in front.

After the couple had breakfast, Yun Hao helped Zhao Wangshu take a walk in the back garden. When they reached the pond, Zhao Wangshu pointed at the seven-colored koi in the pond and said, "The Princess of Yixing sent this to me."

Yun Hao smiled, "These two seven-colored koi were specially requested by the Princess of Yixing from Your Majesty."

"Oh, thank you for her trouble." Zhao Wangshu said with a smile.

The sun shines on the sparkling pond, and seven-colored koi swim leisurely in it, adding a touch of vivid color to this quiet morning.

Yun Hao gently put his arm around Zhao Wangshu's shoulders, and they stood side by side, watching the fish swimming freely in the water.

After admiring the fish for a while, Yun Hao helped Zhao Wangshu back to the yard.

Zhao Wangshu sat on the big kang by the window in the east room. He took out a book from the drawer of the kang table and handed it to Yun Hao. "Master Yun, don't be partial. If you read poems to your eldest son, you should also read them to the two younger ones."

A hint of guilt flashed in Yun Hao's eyes. When Zhao Wangshu was pregnant with little Yunyu, he spent more time at home. Now that Zhao Wangshu was pregnant with twins, he was so busy that he didn't even read a poem to her.

He flipped through the pages and came across Su Dongpo's "Yu Qian Monk Green Bamboo Pavilion", which reads, "I would rather eat without meat than live without bamboo. No meat makes one thin, no bamboo makes one vulgar. A thin person can be fattened, but vulgarity cannot be cured."

After reading this poem, he turned the page and found Yang Wanli's "Twelve Interpretations of Things in Early Summer", "There are dense red flowers with long green thorns, which seem to accompany the fragrance of pomegranates. The golden cherry has a rose face, and the sweet fruit fragrance of the glutinous rice branches is even more fragrant."

Yun Hao looked up at Zhao Wangshu and said, "Could this collection of poems be sent by the Princess of Yixing County?"

Zhao Wangshu's eyes flashed with cunning light, and he smiled and said, "Lord Yun, you see through me like seeing fire."

"Thank you for the compliment, ma'am." Yun Hao continued to recite the poem.

Each poem was about food. Zhao Wangshu didn't know if Yun Hao was craving for food, but she was. "Lan Fen, bring me a plate of pastries. I'm hungry."

Before Lan Fen's pastries were delivered, Zhong Sheng arrived. He came in, bowed to the two of them, greeted them, walked up to Yun Hao, and whispered something in his ear.

After hearing this, Yun Hao remained calm and said, "Go and ask them to prepare the horses."

Zhong Sheng stepped out, and Zhao Wangshu looked at him, "Something happened?"

"Your Majesty has ordered a Taoist priest to come into the palace to exorcise the evil spirit for him." Yun Hao raised the corners of his lips slightly, revealing a sarcastic sneer.

"Since the imperial physician can't cure the disease, he starts looking for some illusory comfort?" Zhao Wangshu's tone was full of sarcasm.

Yun Hao walked forward, hugged her, and kissed her on the forehead. "Don't let your imagination run wild. Wait for me to come back."

Zhao Wangshu nodded obediently. Although she had many doubts and anxieties in her heart, she chose to believe Yun Hao and watched him leave the yard.

Between watching the diving and typing, I still chose to type, woo woo.
