Chapter 692 Seeds of Doubt
Edward stared at the Scorpion.

Why would the other party appear here? Why did the attacker have to run here?

"What's up?"

Scorpion came back to his senses from his thoughts and looked at Edward in confusion.

"It's okay." Edward shook his head and looked around. The view here was wide, but the fog just now covered too much.

It was impossible to tell where the other party ran into.

"So what happened to you guys?"

Scorpion asked directly.

"Someone attacked me." Edward said aloud.

Looking at the scorpion in front of him, he wanted to find something wrong with it.

But Scorpion's face was as cold as ice, and no expression could be seen at all.

He hates facial paralysis.

Edward complained inwardly.

He now plans to put this option as his second most hated option.

The first option must be that others say he is a dwarf!!

"So you suspect me?" Scorpion looked at Edward sideways.

The look in the other person's eyes already explained a lot.

Edward fell silent. His suspicion towards Scorpion had indeed increased a lot.

"I hope you can find the truth."

Scorpion shrugged. He didn't care about such things anyway.

Edward looked at the indifferent Scorpion and breathed a sigh of relief.

He actually didn't understand why he was so nervous, as if he was afraid that Scorpion was really the murderer.

He scratched his head.

The person in front of me should be an ordinary person, what is he worried about.

"You guys are going to the scene of the attack, so I'll go with you."

Scorpion spoke out.

Edward nodded.

What we need most now is to find some clues first.

Scorpion walked past the two people to the door and looked outside. The surroundings were open, so anyone hiding should be able to be discovered.

After all, it is the hut chosen by the hunter. It is a place specially chosen to prevent attacks by wild beasts.

The sight finally focused on the ground in the distance, where there was only a strange magic circle drawn in chalk.

It was completely different from what Edward and the others used.

Scorpion only took one look and remembered it completely.

"I think if you want to create mist over such a large area, you need a lot of water as material."

Edward stepped forward and said.

"Fog?" Scorpion looked at Edward puzzledly.

Edward nodded and said: "The other party's alchemy should be water mist transformation."

"Can't the water mist be transformed and created out of thin air?" Scorpion asked curiously.

Since it is an equal exchange, can't it be replaced with something else?

"Because it is incomprehensible." Edward told the truth. If it cannot be understood, it cannot be completely transformed.

Scorpion suddenly realized that he had put himself in the situation and that not everyone could understand the structure of these materials like himself.

His path is to constantly understand these substances and then reorganize them.

"Then where does the water come from?" Edward frowned deeply. He was not feeling confused, but rather there was a sense of resentment in his brows.

Scorpio was thoughtful.

It seems that there is a way to bypass the understanding part and directly turn it into the result of refining.

So what exactly made Edward feel so angry?

Scorpion looked at Edward thoughtfully.

The three of them came to the place where they were attacked.

The village chief was still waiting for the three people to arrive in a state of shock.

"Village chief, are you okay?" Edward walked forward and asked with concern.

I was so anxious to chase the murderer that I forgot about the village chief with dark circles under his eyes.

"It's okay, I just saw a fog, and then I don't know where you went." The village chief patted his chest, still in shock, and glanced at Scorpion who was distracted.

"Did you catch the person?" the village chief asked Edward.

Edward shook his head. This man was too cunning, but at least he had confirmed that he was in this village.

There was a hint of disappointment on the village chief's face.

The distracted Scorpion glanced at the village chief and ignored him.

The most important thing now is to decompose alchemy. He can feel that alchemy will be of great benefit to his path to the root.

It can also make up for one's own shortcomings.

As for other things, they have nothing to do with him for the time being.

"I want to know where the alchemist's laboratory you used to be in was." Edward asked.

"There is nothing there anymore." The village chief said hesitantly.

"I'm just taking a look." Edward said directly.

Even if we dispose of everything, there should still be some clues left.

"Okay." The village chief nodded: "But it has to be tomorrow. The laboratory is a bit far from here, and I need to take care of the village affairs first."

Edward nodded. It was only one day, so there was no problem.

Scorpion looked at Edward speechlessly. Was he too naive? The shooting was already a big problem.

And he also said that tomorrow, one night would be enough to clean up everything.

But there was no point in Scorpio giving a warning.

The three were then sent back by the village chief.

Scorpion merely glanced at them.

The power level is too low, there is no threat at all. At night at the village chief's house.

"What the hell are you doing?!" the village chief was yelling at a young man with gray hair.

"Do you know that if I hadn't been here, you would have been completely exposed!"

Edela was the name of the young man, and he looked very skinny.

"Almost, almost." The young man had a crazy look on his face: "As long as I have that thing, I will definitely become a national alchemist!"

He looked at the old man and said, "As long as I become a national alchemist, I can apply to the state to give the village compensation, which will allow the entire village to revive."

The old man gritted his teeth and looked at the man in front of him.

This person is the alchemist supported by the entire village.

The sacrifices they made to push this man to the position of National Alchemy were simply too great.

The whole village is now in trouble, and basically everyone in the village is in debt.

If they really cut off contact with the people in front of them, what could they use to repay those debts?

But they never expected that this young man would fail in the end.

This made all their efforts go down the drain.

How could they be willing?

When the man in front of them appeared in front of them again, he said that he had mastered a method that would allow him to enter the ranks of national alchemists.

This once again aroused their inner hope.

But they didn't expect that what happened next would become a nightmare for them.

The village chief had never expected that the so-called promotion of the other party might require a pile of names.

Like gamblers, they once again put their chips down on the table and are completely unable to leave.

"Just put the blame on that person." The madness on the white-haired man's face slowly subsided, and he said calmly.

"Then how can we make those two national alchemists believe it?" The village chief was also worried.

Originally, what the man did today should be enough for the two men to suspect the Scorpion Head.

But the final result disappointed him, the two did not show any reaction at all.

"Those are the two kids." The man sneered.

"Just be prepared to put the blame on that man for everything and kill him in the end, so that the two children will think they committed suicide out of fear of punishment."

A State Alchemist who is so naive is so easy to deceive.

The village chief's face flickered, and finally he sighed heavily.

They no longer have any choice.

"Then do you have information to kill that person? That person might also be an alchemist."

The man snorted coldly: "That person is just an ordinary person. Not to mention an ordinary person, even a national alchemist may not be my opponent."

He put his hand on his waist, where a cloth bag had a crack, and a hint of red could be vaguely seen inside.

"He was just a passerby who was dragged in."

As long as he could put the blame on them, he could take the alchemist test again with the things he had prepared.

That woman said that if you use this thing, you can easily become an alchemist.

His eyes were bloodshot and a look of madness appeared on his face again.

As long as he becomes an alchemist, those who laugh at him will have a miserable death.

He has gone mad.

But the village chief didn't see the truth and just sighed.

The next morning.

"Knock, knock, knock!" The loud knocking on the door woke Edward up.

He instantly jumped up from the bed and looked around in horror.

"Wake up." Scorpion said coldly: "Your trouble is coming."

Edward looked towards the door.

"What happened!?" He looked at his younger brother Alphonse in confusion.

Alphonse shook his head. He had no idea what was going on.

The two men stepped forward and opened the door.

There was a huge crowd of people outside, and the sounds of angry roars were intertwined.

"Hand over the murderer!"

"Hand over the murderer!"

"Murderer."

All the villagers blocked the door with weapons.

"Wait a minute." Edward quickly reached out to stop these people from continuing to roar.

But his attempts to stop it were of no avail.

"Cough cough." After a slight cough, all the villagers stopped talking and looked at the village chief who walked out of the crowd.

"Village Chief, what happened?"

Edward looked at the village chief with a puzzled expression, wondering why he felt like something had happened overnight.

"Someone died in our village last night." The village chief said in a deep voice.

Edward's pupils shrank: "How did he die? Have you found the murderer?"

But this was completely different from the alchemist they were chasing, who always kidnapped people and then disappeared.

How could he possibly kill someone?

"Someone cut his neck with a knife." The village chief said in a deep voice.

"Although we didn't see the murderer, we found this piece of clothing." The village chief said as he took out a red windbreaker.

When Edward saw the windbreaker, his pupils shrank. He had seen that windbreaker before, just in the past few days.

"It's Scorpion's clothes!" Alphonse said directly.

They saw Scorpion wearing this dress these two days.

The two looked behind them. Scorpion was still thinking about something and was completely out of focus.

Maybe he noticed the sight.

Scorpion turned around and looked at him in confusion.
