Chapter 375 No chat box?
Chapter 375 No chat box?
"Okay, let me meet this Elliot and see who she is!"
Everyone returned to their seats and downloaded the desktop program.
Although some people were attracted by the Eleos figurine at first sight and bought it immediately, most people chose to wait and see. After all, the price of this thing is still relatively high, and there are not many rich people who are willing to make impulse purchases, not to mention that there are so many stocks in the store.
Hou Ji returned to his seat and quickly installed Elios's desktop companion program.
Of course, all the equipment in the Against Heaven Game Experience Store is updated and maintained uniformly. After the system is updated, the Arios Desktop Companion program will be automatically installed, and players no longer need to install it manually.
Soon, the download and installation were completed.
What surprised Hou Ji was that this desktop companion program was over 800M in size, which was even comparable to some medium-sized games.
However, after the installation was complete, Hou Ji felt that the 800M was worth it because the accuracy of the resources was indeed high!
After installation on the computer, the entire computer desktop will become a specific background.
This looks like a relatively plain study room or reception room, with not much furnishings in the room itself.
In the very center of the picture is a reception-like place with a long reception desk and a work computer.
In the four corners of the picture, there are different areas of different sizes, some larger than others and some smaller than others.
In the upper left corner is an outdoor scene, where you can see the beach, lounge chairs, a corner of the beach volleyball court, coconut trees, and blue sky and white clouds.
In the upper right corner is a simple rest area with a massage chair, sofa, coffee table, etc.
The lower left and lower right corners appear to be closer to the camera and occupy a larger area, probably because of perspective.
There is a large screen in the lower left corner, which plays some random content. In addition, there is a large yoga mat and some simple fitness equipment.
The elements in the lower right corner are the most complex, with a desk and various books. On the desk is a laptop, which looks smaller than the one at the front desk, but more literary.
Although the perspective of the scene itself is fixed and cannot be dragged, the layout still gives players an immersive feeling.
At first, Hou Ji was a little confused. Why do we need to create so many messy elements in one scene?
Although it looks more realistic and more like a real scene, it will also make the player's desktop look a bit messy.
What's more, whether it is a desktop pet or a desktop elf, most of them will only have very limited interactive options. Even if a complex scene is created, players will most likely not be able to use it.
But Hou Ji soon realized that the design of Desktop Elf obviously had some unique planning in it!
First, players can choose to block any of these five areas. After blocking, it will become a gradient solid color background.
If players feel it is too cluttered, they can just keep part of the area, block all the others, and place the desktop icons there.
Judging from the current layout, the upper left corner and the upper right corner are obviously more suitable for blocking and placing icons.
The only character in this scene, Eleos, will move randomly among several scenes. Sometimes she will go to the front desk to handle affairs, sometimes she will go to the beach in the upper left corner to sunbathe or play, and sometimes she will go to the lower left corner to practice yoga.
Every time the scene changes, she leaves the screen, changes her clothes, and then goes to the corresponding scene.
The scene where she appears most time is in the lower right corner, followed by the lower left corner.
Obviously, if the player only wants "pure mode" and wants to make his computer desktop as simple as possible, then just keep the desk in the lower right corner. When Eleos is reading at the desk in the lower right corner, her AI will be fully activated and will talk to the player.
When Ellios speaks, there are two forms of speech: voice and text. Players can freely choose to turn off the voice or text, or reduce the frequency of Ellios's conversation, or even ask her to shut up completely and not say anything.
These functions were not very complicated, and Hou Ji understood them after a simple exploration.
"It feels quite interesting. Should I try it?"
Hou Ji put on his headphones, simply adjusted the settings, and got ready.
At the beginning, Elios was reading a book at the table, looking peaceful, natural and beautiful.
Soon, Hou Ji encountered the first problem: "But... there is no chat input box here!"
Originally, Hou Ji thought that this desktop elf was probably like a smart speaker or various AIs on the Internet, and could communicate freely.
This is actually not difficult to do, after all, fake-AI has ready-made templates and can already communicate by typing. Not to mention now, this function has already been completed in the "Forsaken City of Gods" developed by Against the Heavens.
But the problem is that there is no input box on the desktop sprite, which means that players cannot actively chat with Elliot.
You can type in a text document or in a browser, but these will not trigger feedback from Eleos.
She was still reading there quietly. At this moment, Hou Ji and she were like two passers-by in the study room. Although they seemed very close in distance, they were still doing their own things.
Hou Ji was a little disappointed: "Strange, why is this function going backwards? The original function of fake-AI has also been castrated, right?
“I thought that Against Heaven would be able to train a very powerful AI this time.
"Manager, will you add a chat box in the future?"
Hou Ji looked at Gu Fan for help, but Gu Fan smiled and shook his head: "Desktop elf? No."
Hou Ji didn't expect Gu Fan to give the answer so straightforwardly. He couldn't help but feel a little disappointed.
Zhuge Jun said: "The store manager only said that there will be no chat box in the desktop sprite, but he didn't say that there will be no chat box in the game. I think this design makes sense. After all, the desktop sprite should not be too dominant. Maybe there were some special considerations at the beginning of the design."
Hou Ji reluctantly accepted this explanation. He tried tapping Elios a few times, but there was no response.
It was as if the two of them were separated by a thick soundproof glass; no matter how they knocked or shouted, they could not attract each other's attention.
"So how do you trigger it?"
Hou Ji was confused. He tried several methods, but none of them worked.
"Just click on any game on the desktop." Zhuge Jun seemed to have discovered the clue first and gave a hint.
Hou Ji clicked on the game icon on the desktop doubtfully, and sure enough, Elliot temporarily put down the book in her hand and looked towards the screen.
"Huh? Are you also a player of the Against Heaven game?"
