The surrounding environment appears a bit messy, with faintly visible elements such as destroyed iron fences, fallen tombstones, and destroyed carriages blocking the road.
The hunter's left hand had obviously been transformed into a puppet prosthesis, but it seemed to have been severely damaged at this time. The solid wooden skin on it was cracked, the steel skeleton was broken, and the entire prosthesis was bent at an unnatural angle, revealing the clockwork and gears inside.
And the moment Zhuge Jun pressed the button to start the game, the hunter's right hand moved slightly, touched the weapon at hand, and then subconsciously grasped the hilt.
Soon, the hunter seemed to regain consciousness. He briefly examined his current condition and looked at his severely damaged puppet prosthesis again and again.
After barely standing up with the support of the sword, the hunter touched the gas lamp in front of him and meditated for a while, or prayed. Then, the gas lamp magically lit up, although the hunter did not turn on any special switch during the whole process.
Afterwards, the hunter sat down next to the gas lamp again, took out the tools from the small bag at his side, and began to make simple repairs to the puppet's prosthetic limbs.
He skillfully used an object similar to a screwdriver to poke a special mechanism inside the puppet's prosthetic limb. With a "pop" sound, a certain internal structure of the puppet's prosthetic limb popped open.
The hunter took out a beautifully shaped but obviously damaged important part, and took out a new part from his bag and installed it. Then, he simply tinkered with it and barely corrected some slightly deformed parts so that they could be barely put back into the prosthesis.
Finally, the hunter took out a special red and blue interwoven crystal and inserted it into a specific position of the prosthesis.
A magical scene happened. With a slight sizzling sound, the beautifully shaped core components that were inserted seemed to start moving. The parts that had been twisted and deformed and barely stuffed back were also reshaped under the influence of an unknown force and gradually became appropriate.
Finally, the hunter presses the broken wooden skin on and applies a special gel, or repair agent, to it.
After all the repairs were completed, the hunter tried to move the fingers of his left prosthetic arm to confirm that it was as flexible as before.

Although there are many steps in this process, it actually does not take very long.
It is worth mentioning that during some of the key actions, corresponding button prompts appear in the game, guiding players to complete these actions in the form of QTE.
For example, to light a gas lamp, use the B key on the controller as the interaction key, to repair a prosthetic limb, use the down key of the cross key, and to inject yourself with crystals to restore blood, use the Y key.
After the hunter stands up, the game enters the regular game process from real-time calculation. At this time, Zhuge Jun can control the character to do anything.
The game also further introduces conventional button tutorials, such as moving with the left joystick, changing the perspective with the right joystick, attacking with the X key, stepping and rolling with the A key and pressing and holding to run, pressing the heavy attack (right shoulder button RB) while running to jump and chop, etc.
As an old player, the first thing Zhuge Jun has to do is to confirm and adjust the key positions.
After all, every player has his or her own more familiar key positions. If you are not used to the key positions when playing action games, it would be like being forced to eat noodles with a spoon, which is indescribable discomfort.
Take the common light and heavy attack key settings for example. Currently, there are two completely different button designs in mainstream game designs on the market. One is to use XY as the light and heavy attack buttons, while the other is to use the right shoulder button RB and the right trigger button RT as the light and heavy attack buttons.
These two designs have their own advantages and disadvantages. Using XY as light and heavy attack buttons can free up the RB and RT keys for special function buttons, and form a combination key to be compatible with more content; while using the RB and RT keys as light and heavy attacks is used in situations where the game combat system is not so complicated, and players can more easily use attacks while running.
The default operation mode of "Blood of Lies" is a bit strange. It uses the X key as the light attack key, but uses RB as the heavy attack key, and the Y key becomes the key for using props.
As for the RT button, it is the transformation slash that appeared in the promotional video.
At first, Zhuge Jun was quite confused by this key design, but he soon realized the reason:
There is no specific "jump" button in the game, but the character can still jump. The specific implementation method is that when the character uses a heavy attack while running, the heavy attack module will become a jump slash, and this jump slash can replace the jump function because it does allow the player to jump up and forward a considerable distance.
Considering that the running button in the game is to long press the A key, the A+RB key combination is of course more user-friendly than the A+Y key combination.
Zhuge Jun tried other operations and quickly matched these buttons with the functions in the game one by one.
The cross key can be regarded as a quick switching key, where the up key switches "rituals", which are spells in many games; the left key switches puppet prostheses; the right key switches weapons; and the down key switches available items.
If you press the cross key, it will cycle according to the contents of the equipment.
Long pressing does not return to the original props, but a quick menu pops up. Move the right joystick to quickly select the props you want, and release it to automatically equip or use it. As for the left shoulder button LB and the left trigger button LT, their only remaining functions are naturally clear at a glance, which are "Defense" and "Doll Prosthetics".
The RT button, which stands for "Puppet Prosthesis", also has a story. If you press it short, you will directly use the current puppet prosthesis ability, but if you press it long, three different usages will pop up. It can form three different combination keys with "Light Attack X", "Heavy Attack RB" and "Transformation Slash RT".
The current character only has one puppet prosthetic limb, and its abilities are fire-related, just like in the demo video.
Short press the LT key to enchant the weapon with fire.
LT+Light Attack X is a series of continuous fire attacks, with the flame prosthetic movements interspersed in the player's light attack combo.
LT+Heavy Attack Y will bury a fire trap on the ground, which is a special function.
LT+Transformation Slash RT need to be pressed and held at the same time. At this time, the character will use the ability of the puppet prosthesis to the fullest to spray fire in the fan-shaped area in front.
In other words, short presses and three key combinations can be regarded as four different ways of using the prosthesis, namely "enchantment", "extra weapon combo derivation", "special functions", and "extreme output methods with larger flaws".
Of course, Zhuge Jun feels that he will definitely get more different prosthetic limbs in the future. It is not ruled out that some of them are purely functional prosthetic limbs. Perhaps these four key positions may also correspond to some new functions.
After getting familiar with the operation, Zhuge Jun wanted to try changing the key positions, such as swapping the RB for heavy attack and the Y key for using items, or changing RB to light attack, RT to heavy attack, and the X key to transformation slash.
But after trying it, I felt that the original key position seemed to be more convenient, so I finally gave up the change.
Suddenly, Zhuge Jun seemed to think of something.
"Yeah, I don't even know what the back button on my controller is used for!"
He quickly pulled the trigger button on the right, and saw the character in the game use a clean and neat transformation slash.

"Forget it, what am I expecting..."
Zhuge Jun couldn't help but feel a little discouraged, because it was obvious that the two left and right trigger back buttons were only mapped to the left and right trigger buttons, that is, the LT and RT buttons.
This feels like a redundant act, like taking off pants to fart.
But on second thought, this is normal. After all, the game "Blood of Lies" has to take into account the feelings of ordinary players, and players who have not bought the linked controller can also enjoy the complete game content.
Peripherals can slightly improve the gaming experience of players who spend money on the game, but they cannot affect the experience of ordinary players.
Therefore, it is unlikely that these two trigger back buttons will bring about any disruptive changes to the gameplay.
But if it really just maps the left and right trigger buttons, it seems that it can't even achieve the basic goal of "improving the experience of krypton gold players". This doesn't seem like something the smart Mr. Gu would do.
Therefore, Zhuge Jun believes that these two back keys should still have some special uses. If such special uses can be developed, then the LT and RT keys can be freed up and the key positions can be further adjusted.
As for whether these two back buttons have any special uses, we can only experience it carefully during the subsequent gaming process.
Zhuge Jun controlled the character forward. He encountered some small monsters along the way and killed them all easily.
These monsters are basically humanoid zombies. They have low attack power, logical movements, and low health.
Even every time Zhuge Jun killed a monster, when the monster's blood sprayed onto his body, it had a certain healing effect, in other words, it could suck blood.
This further reduced the difficulty of the battle, and even gave Zhuge Jun the illusion that he was playing a lawn mowing game.
He can fight however he wants.
Use light attacks, each hit can cause a small stiffness, just mindlessly combo.
Use heavy attacks. As long as you keep the distance right, you can put the opponent in a state where they can be executed with one strike. Then follow up with a light attack to trigger the execution action and you can finish them off quickly.
Using transformation slash or jump slash can also beat the monsters without any chance of fighting back.
The only thing that Zhuge Jun found slightly humorous was the "defense" operation. This design could even be described as "unbelievable."
