Chapter 608: Third Grade, Dementors

This holiday is a very unforgettable time for many people.

Hermione truly experienced what efficient learning meant. The Ravenclaw crown made her already intelligent learning ability soar several levels. Although she was still a little behind Zhou Ming and Cynthia, judging by the standards of people in this world, Hermione was already a genius among geniuses based on her performance in this holiday alone.

Dumbledore got the Resurrection Stone, but Zhou Ming was too lazy to ask how he would use it. He still trusted old Dumbledore. After all, in the original book, Teacher Dumbledore knew clearly that the Resurrection Stone was actually useless, and he himself was not obsessed with it.

Ron and his family went to Egypt for a great trip. Although they spent a lot of money, and even spent almost all of their winnings, for their family, being able to go out and have fun was already a very happy thing, not to mention that he could get a new wand after school started.

Zhou Ming and Cynthia didn't feel anything special, mainly because they didn't have much expectations for this kind of vacation itself. They just studied step by step and got in touch with the core of this world little by little.

Harry didn't have a very happy holiday, mainly because of his aunt and clothes.

Harry's aunt Petunia and uncle Vernon were not actually very nice to him in daily life.

Of course, this is not good, it depends on how you look at it.

If you look at it from Harry's perspective, it is indeed not very good. Before entering Hogwarts, he lived in the cupboard under the stairs for many years. The environment was small and cramped, and he had to do all kinds of housework at home every day. His cousin Dudley's life was completely opposite to his. His aunt and uncle doted on Dudley beyond limits. In comparison, Harry's treatment was almost at the same level as that of a house-elf.

But from another perspective, this couple really has nothing to say about Harry.

Harry himself didn't know this, because his mother Lily used her own life and blood to cast an extremely ancient protection spell before her death. This spell protected Harry from being killed by Voldemort, and also protected him from being harmed by Voldemort as he grew up.

But there is a prerequisite, that is, he must live with his blood relatives, otherwise the second half of the protection will be difficult to take effect.

Petunia is not a pure Muggle who knows nothing. In fact, she is fully aware of the existence of the magical world and wizards. After all, when Lily was able to become a witch, Petunia was envious and jealous for a long time. She even wrote several letters to Dumbledore expressing her desire to enroll. Unfortunately, she did not have the talent to become a wizard, so she did not receive the admission letter from Hogwarts in the end.

Because she knew about the wizarding world, Petunia knew very well how Lily died. She also knew that if she took in Harry, the risk of being targeted by Voldemort would greatly increase.

At that time, not only she would be in danger, but her husband and son would also be in danger.

Vernon obviously knew this too.

But the couple took Harry in and provided him with adequate protection.

So from this perspective, their kindness to Harry was so great that Harry would have to pay it back in his lifetime. Unfortunately, Harry himself didn't know about this, and Petunia and Vernon never told him. Anyway, every time he had a holiday, he would go back to that house in a daze and live with the people he had delayed.

As the holiday approached, Harry, as expected, had another conflict with his family. In a fit of anger, he packed his bags and ran away from home, planning to take a bus to the Leaky Cauldron and spend the last part of his holiday there.

While waiting for the bus, he saw a strange big black dog. The dog was so big that it looked much bigger than the ordinary wild dogs on the street.

In the middle of the night, it suddenly emerged from the bushes across the street, staring at Harry with its green eyes as if it wanted to eat him.

Harry shrank his neck in fear, and subconsciously planned to take out his wand to avoid the big black dog, but in fact the bus came. Harry got on the bus without saying a word, and then he felt relieved.

Needless to say, he went to the Leaky Cauldron, stayed there for two days, and had a battle of wits with his textbooks. Finally, on the first day of school, he met Hermione and Ron on the train.

Harry was shocked when they met.

"Hermione, why are you…"

Harry stared at Hermione in confusion. He couldn't tell any changes in Hermione at first glance, but he felt that Hermione had become more beautiful than before.

Ron stared at Hermione without even moving his eyes.

If it were any other little girl, she would have been extremely shy, but when it was Hermione's turn, she raised her head instead, like a proud little swan.

"What's wrong with me? Nothing's wrong with me?"

"I feel like you've become different from before..."

"This is normal, we are still so young and we are growing up every day."

"That's different. Your changes are different from others..."

"Really? Maybe, but I don't feel anything."

Hermione would never say that she had her hair done specially, nor would she say that she had her teeth fixed specially. As for why it was like this, all I can say is that those who understand will understand, and those who don’t understand won’t understand even if I tell them.

The train started moving and everyone sat in the carriage and started chatting.

There was a fourth person in Harry's compartment, a middle-aged man. Harry didn't know him, but when he saw that he was sleeping, he subconsciously lowered his voice.

What they were discussing was related to the latest news in the newspaper, which was about Sirius's escape from prison.

"I heard that he was a good friend of your parents. It was said that it was because of him that your parents were killed. He also deliberately blew up a street and killed many Muggles in pursuit of his good friend. He was then caught by the Aurors and imprisoned in Azkaban. I never thought that he would not die after all these years and even escaped from prison."

Hermione lives up to her title of Miss Know-It-All. She always knows a lot of news that others don't know before others do.

As for how she got the news now, she can only ask Mr. Zhou.

But this matter has nothing to do with Harry. It was through Hermione's words that he learned that Sirius was one of the culprits who killed his parents.

"Harry, you said he suddenly ran out of Azkaban, could it be that he came specifically to find you?"

Ron said a little worriedly.

In fact, if you put yourself in his shoes, if it was him, loyal to the Dark Lord, and then he learned that the kid the Dark Lord had always wanted to kill was alive and well and still studying at Hogwarts, he would also find ways to find Harry and then kill him to show his loyalty to the Dark Lord.

Harry said nothing, but just looked sullen.

He also thought of this, otherwise it would make no sense why this person didn't escape from prison before but had to escape now.

He also had a general understanding of what Azkaban was. He knew that it was a prison in the wizarding world with extremely strict security. Once someone was locked up there, there was basically no chance of escape.

Except for a very small number of prisoners released by the Ministry of Magic, all other prisoners would eventually die in there, but Sirius escaped. If he wanted to kill himself, then his obsession was too terrifying.

"It doesn't matter even if he did it for Harry. Hogwarts is very safe and not everyone can break in. Don't forget, Professor Dumbledore and other professors are still in Hogwarts. If Sirius dares to come to Harry, he will be thrown back into Azkaban."

Hermione said relieved.

There was one more thing she hadn't said, which was that Zhou Ming was in Hogwarts. Zhou Ming's strength was apparently no less than that of the professor. This had become a consensus among almost all students in the school. In last year's duel class, Zhou Ming's performance had conquered everyone.

If Sirius dares to come, he should not consider whether he will be caught. He should worry about whether he will be killed directly by Zhou Ming's spell.

Thinking of this, Hermione's face suddenly turned a little red. She couldn't help but think of some little things that happened during the holiday. For a young girl who was just beginning to fall in love, it was really exciting.

Unfortunately, the light in the carriage was dim, and Harry and Ron did not notice Hermione's abnormality.

"By the way, don't you think that the lighting seems to be much worse than last year? Is it because the car is too old?" Ron asked puzzledly.

Before anyone could give their opinions, the train suddenly shook violently, and then the train slowly stopped.

"The car stopped?"

"what happens?"

"I don't know, how about going out and taking a look?"

The three of them looked at each other. The noise of other students could be heard outside the door. Hermione was very powerful and she stood up immediately and was about to push open the carriage door.

At this moment, Zhou Ming's figure suddenly appeared outside the door.

"Zhou Ming? Why are you here?"

Hermione was a little surprised. Shouldn't Zhou Ming be in the Ravenclaw carriage? Why was he here?
"Something happened on the train. I was worried about you, so I came to check on you."

He said, nodding towards Harry and Ron.

"What happened to the train? Why did it stop suddenly?"

Hermione trusted Zhou Ming immensely. Seeing him was like seeing her backbone, and she would ask him first if she had any questions.

"Something is on the bus. Don't come out. It's dangerous outside."

As Zhou Ming said this, he was about to close the car door.

"Wait, what about you?"

Hermione asked, blocking the door.

"Me? Don't you know my situation? Don't worry, I'm fine."

Zhou Ming smiled, took away Hermione's hand that was blocking the door, then closed the carriage door and walked towards the front of the train with his wand in hand.

Although he said so, Hermione was still worried, and immediately opened the carriage door and chased after him after he left.

Harry and Ron looked at each other and chose to follow.

Only the middle-aged man was left lying in the carriage, sighing helplessly.

"What restless little fellows."

He also stood up and walked out of the carriage with his wand in hand.

The group was divided into several groups and kept moving forward. Hermione walked the fastest and soon caught up with Zhou Ming. When she was about to call him to stop, a figure in a tattered black robe suddenly floated in from the train door in front.

Almost the moment this thing appeared, Hermione felt cold all over.

"Dementors?"

Hermione almost screamed. During the holidays, she read various extracurricular books with Zhou Ming. She learned about Dementors from those books.

Knowing that this is a magical creature with almost no weaknesses and that likes to suck the positive emotions of humans, once people get close to Dementors, they will feel depressed and frustrated.

She also knew that this thing was the guard of Azkaban, and most of the dead prisoners had their souls devoured by Dementors.

Although she was very confident in Zhou Ming's ability, Hermione still exclaimed instinctively.

"careful!"

Almost at the moment when she said this, a soft light lit up.

Zhou Mingping held up the wand and did not recite any spells, but a large amount of white light sprayed out from the tip of the wand like a waterfall. In the white light, a creature that Hermione had never seen before quickly took shape.

It flapped its wings and flew in front of the Dementor, stretched out its two big claws to grab the Dementor, opened its mouth and bit the Dementor's body.

At this moment, Hermione seemed to hear the Dementors' screams, but as we all know, Dementors cannot make any sound.

Then she saw the white creature grab the Dementor and push it all the way out of the carriage.

After we got outside the carriage, the light on the creature became even brighter, and the white light almost illuminated the entire sky, but the light was not dazzling. On the contrary, it was very soft, and it made people feel warm when it fell on the body. A sense of joy rose involuntarily in my heart, completely dispelling the previous depression.

"Patronus Charm?"

Hermione reacted quickly and subconsciously said the name of the spell.

"It's not an ordinary guardian angel, but a more advanced physical guardian angel."

Suddenly there was someone beside her.

Hermione turned around and saw that it was the man who had shared a car insurance with them.

"Em, you're……"

"Let me introduce myself. My name is Lupin, and I'm your future professor."

Lupine smiled gently.

"You just said the physical body..."

"The Flesh Patronus is a more advanced Patronus Charm. It has a stronger protective ability than the ordinary Patronus. It can also actively attack Dementors. I never thought that there would be such a powerful student in the school."

Lupin looked at Zhou Ming's back and exclaimed.

"It's just some tricks, really."

Zhou Ming turned around and smiled at Lupin. "These Dementors actually entered the carriage directly. This is not an ordinary thing. Professor Lupin, do you think we should notify Professor Dumbledore?"

"That's exactly what I was going to do."

Lupin nodded, "But before that, everyone, you should return to the carriage."

He looked at Zhou Ming and said.
