The Best Actor in the Vase of Meiyu

Chapter 1085 Interception Script

Chapter 1085 Interception Script
Taking a deep breath, Kitcher showed his calm side and said, "Then we won't bother you for now."

Looking at Mangold, who was reluctant to stand up and seemed ready to persuade Anson, Kitcher signaled with his eyes to Edgar, who was watching him eagerly.

Although Edgar kept smiling and showed no sign of abnormality, Mangold still understood what was happening. He pulled out the chair helplessly and stood up dejectedly. His whole body did not try to hide his unwillingness and grievance. He did not need to say a word because his body language expressed it clearly.

Kitcher seemed a little helpless, but didn't know how to defend Mangold. He could only smile at Edgar and carefully hide his embarrassment.

Unexpectedly, Anson said, "Wait."

All eyes were focused on it.

"If you don't mind, could you please send me the script? I'd love to read it."

A pause.

At this moment, you can clearly feel that the air suddenly becomes quiet, because the trivial sounds of other customers in the cafe and the sounds of the coffee machine are venting and surging continuously, as if someone manually adjusted the white noise button to the maximum, and all the sounds are extremely clear and surging on the eardrums.

Both Kitcher and Edgar were ready to speak to break the silence, but neither was as quick as Mangold.

"it is good."

Mangold said.

His eyes were bright and eager to try, and his feet seemed to be stepping on springs, and his body was jumping lightly and uncontrollably.

"Sure. No problem."

Although he was a beat late and missed the opportunity, Edgar still spoke, keeping calm, "Send it directly to William Morris. I will pass it on to Anson."

Mangold hesitated a little, glanced at Edgar warily, and finally looked at Anson, as if he was worried that Edgar would intercept the script.

Edgar looked helpless.

Anson looked at Edgar with a gloating smile in his eyes, then looked at Mangold again and nodded slightly.

"No problem. William Morris will do. I'll get it."

Mangold then relaxed and said, "I look forward to your feedback."

After exchanging a few more pleasantries, Mangold and Kitcher said goodbye. This time they did not stay, but left the cafe cleanly and took a deep breath of the outside air.

Involuntarily, Kitcher stopped and looked towards the direction of the cafe again, staring at Anson's back.

Now, calming down and regaining his rationality, the passion in his blood gradually cooled down. He thought he would hesitate again and question his previous judgment.

As Anson himself said, is Anson's acting worthy of trust?
Up to now, the most shining and important label on Anson is still a vase.

Even though "Elephant" won the Palme d'Or in Cannes, Anson still hasn't proven himself as an actor. Maybe he has box office appeal, but can this handsome guy act?
Leonardo Dicaprio is like that.

"Titanic" is a distant memory from six years ago, but when "Gangs of New York" was released, the doubts and criticisms surrounding Leonardo still firmly dominated the mainstream, full of prejudice and provocation.

Not to mention Levi.

A "cat and mouse game" is far from enough to remove the label of vase.

So, can Anson really shoulder the weight of a role, and really dig into the heart of a character in a biographical film?
These doubts always exist, and there is no difference between Kitcher and the general public.

Kicher thought that he would worry, hesitate and regret, but after his passion cooled down and reason returned to his brain, those shortcomings would reappear.

However, it did not.

It's just an intuition, but this intuition becomes clearer and firmer as time goes by, and my mind has truly settled down.

"James?"

Hearing Mangold's call in his ears, Kitcher retracted his gaze and followed the footsteps, taking two steps forward. In the end, he couldn't help but broke the silence.

"Maybe, he is a treasure, what do you think?"

"Aye, sir," Mangold said in a deliberately playful tone.

Then, Kitcher smiled, very brightly. Meanwhile, in the cafe.

Anson looked up at Edgar, but was in no hurry to leave.

Edgar could clearly see the smile in Anson's eyes. He showed a serious expression and asked, "Are they worried that I won't pass the script to you?"

Anson shrugged slightly. "If you are not satisfied with the script, will you intercept it?"

Edgar bathed in Anson's bright gaze, and finally said frankly, "I can't deny it."

Anson smiled.

Edgar spread his hands. "Hey, that's my job. What else is an agent supposed to do? I'm not a babysitter. They shouldn't bypass the agent and go straight to you."

Anson's eyes were full of smiles. "Do you feel that your position as an agent is threatened?"

Edgar coughed twice to clear his throat and changed the subject abruptly, "Interview, it's true. Three interview teams are waiting in your trailer."

Anson, "I don't doubt it. But I believe there's no such rush."

Edgar opened his mouth, trying to argue, but swallowed it in the end, "How did you know that? Is my acting so bad that they can see it too?"

Anson shrugged lightly, "If you plan to become a full-time actor, you may need to hone your skills. Otherwise, you will just be a vase like me."

Edgar knew it was a joke as soon as he heard it. He laughed dryly and sat down opposite Anson helplessly.

Anson then explained, "If you were really in a hurry, you would ask Noah to come over, and you would stay and deal with those reporters to avoid making them angry."

But apparently, Edgar showed up himself.

So, things might be different.

Edgar suddenly realized something and shook his head slightly, "Does your mind always work so fast?"

Anson, "So you shouldn't worry about me being abducted by them."

Edgar was stunned and laughed, "Yes, I should be worried that they will be fooled by you."

Anson, "You say it's bullshit, I say it's personality charm, we should seek common ground while reserving differences."

Edgar just laughed out loud.

Anson looked back out the window. He could no longer see the two Jameses. He then turned back to look at Edgar. "What's going on? You look extremely nervous. Did you sprint all the way here?"

Edgar sat down opposite Anson. "Did you guys agree on anything?"

Anson, "You've seen the ending, I'm going to read the script, that's all."

Edgar looked a little embarrassed, "Anson, I'm afraid this is not a good project."

Unexpected, but reasonable.

Considering the two James's action of bypassing the agent and finding Anson directly, Anson had already been mentally prepared. Edgar would not like it; or, the two James were worried that the agent might become an obstacle, so they chose to do it secretly.

Now, Edgar's reaction also proves this.

But why?

Anson looked at Edgar, "Is the script that bad?"

Edgar sighed. "To be precise, I don't know. I haven't read the script. But, that was James Mangold and James Keach. They are preparing a Johnny Cash biopic, right?"

Anson nodded in the affirmative.

Edgar, "That's right. As soon as I heard the director mention Johnny Cash, I knew it might be this project, so I rushed over immediately."

"Things are wrong."
