The Best Actor in the Vase of Meiyu

Chapter 1099 Dark Lurking

Chapter 1099 Dark Lurking
"Luca, it wasn't an accident that you left the company and went to Los Angeles, right?"

Anson's words came calmly, but his unhurried tone revealed an elusive certainty and speculation.

With a sudden jerk, he grabbed Lucas' heart.

In that short moment, a myriad of thoughts raced through his mind, but Lucas remained calm and looked at Anson calmly, "Where did you get this guess from?"

Everything, keep it as normal as possible.

Anson glanced sideways at Lucas and chuckled, "An intuition."

Lucas looked away and remained calm. "If this is family intuition, I think there is no problem. I am worried that this is the intuition of Hollywood stars who always think that the earth revolves around them, so maybe I need to worry."

Anson was not in a hurry and continued with a smile, "Maybe. I can't tell clearly, but I always feel that something is wrong."

"I know that you care about me, tolerate me, and always understand me. This is what a family should do, right? Then why do I always feel that something is wrong?"

"After this accident, you all became as sensitive as cats with their fur standing on end. Your parents rushed back, and you simply quit your job. Now you even moved directly to Los Angeles."

"Remember last time?"

"You were worried about me, so you all rushed to Los Angeles and persuaded me to move. You bought a property and renovated it. You were busy all over the place, but I, the client, was left with nothing to do."

Lucas still had no expression on his face, but he did not turn around to look at Anson's expression, for fear that his eyes or expression would reveal any clues, so he carefully concealed himself in the night.

Then Lucas said, "Who makes you our favorite troublemaker?"

"If anything happens to us, I believe you will come here as soon as possible."

Anson shrugged slightly, "Maybe."

"One night in the hospital, my parents thought I was asleep, and I heard their conversation."

"My mother said she couldn't bear to lose me again."

"So, have you ever lost me once?"

All along, Anson had vaguely sensed that something was wrong. The Wood family seemed to be a little... doting on him, even indulgent; but he never thought much about it. He took it for granted that this was what a family should be like.

However, something was always wrong.

Deep in his soul, Anson could feel a kind of pain and struggle. It was more than just sadness. It was a cold mixture of fear, anxiety and despair. It was deeply rooted in the deepest part of his memory and dragged him slowly downwards.

This makes no sense.

No matter the sadness, pain or gloom, there is no root cause for anything.

Anson didn't understand, if his predecessor had such a happy family, why did he always feel like he was on the verge of suffocation?

Anson has not forgotten how he came here:
Toilet. White powder.

Of course, there are other explanations for these things. After all, Hollywood is a carnival party. Maybe the predecessor was enjoying his own little party, but accidentally OD. Such things happen frequently.

But the details, one after another, reveal something unusual.

Even when he heard the conversation between the Woods in the hospital, he did not break his silence. On the one hand, he suspected that he was half asleep and half awake, and might not have understood it; on the other hand, he did not have definite evidence and facts to raise his doubts, and was worried about exposing his true identity.

However, Anson had no answer.

He thought that it might be because his soul and that of the original owner had not completely merged, so he lost some of his memories; but as time went by, those feelings became stronger and stronger, but there was always a gap that was not filled.

A sense of uneasiness and confusion are lurking like an invisible bomb.

until now.

Lucas resigned and prepared to leave for Los Angeles.

That intuition became stronger and stronger, so strong that it almost devoured my reason.

Anson felt that the Wood family was protective of him, even overly doting on him. No matter what happened, they would always react immediately.

Remember when Anson didn't answer the phone, Lucas even found Edgar and then Noah came in to accompany him all the time?

These little things may seem ordinary, but they quietly plant a seed.

Sprout.

Finally, Anson spoke up and faced the problem.

Words flowed quietly in the night.

Lucas didn't turn his head, but he could sense that Anson's eyes were fixed on him calmly and intently.

A little panicked.

Lucas swallowed and tried to stay calm. Even though his fingertips were beginning to sweat, he managed to control himself.

Then, turn your head.

Lucas met Anson's gaze, "I think you heard wrong."

The sights collided in the night.

Anson stared at Lucas quietly, and finally raised his chin slightly, "Yes, is that right? I must have heard it wrong. I was just worried that something like this would happen. It was all just my own fantasy, so I didn't ask my mother."

Lucas breathed a sigh of relief.

Anson continued, "Luca, did I ever tell you that I nearly died when I was auditioning for 'Friends'?"

"Suspected OD."

In an instant, Lucas's breathing was cut off. He tried to say something but found that he couldn't make a sound at all. His heart exploded in his chest.

Do not!
Lucas clenched his hands into fists, all the muscles in his body were tensed to the extreme, and all his rationality and restraint disappeared without a trace in this instant.

Anson remained calm, holding his cocktail and quietly looking at the starry sky.

“Should I blame myself?”

"I don't know what's going on, or what's lurking in the darkness, but it feels like something is staring at me. I'm not sure if it will attack, or if it's just my imagination."

"I tried to shake it off, I tried to run away, I tried to go down the rabbit hole and hope that the world would quiet down and I could completely ignore the uneasiness."

"But……"

To be honest, Anson didn't know how to express it.

Then Anson fell silent.

This is the first time, the first time since traveling through time.

Anson had thought that since he couldn't remember, since the Wood family didn't mention it, and since those memories didn't seem to play any role, then he would continue to act crazy and stupid.

This is to protect your own vest and avoid exposing yourself; it is also to protect your mental health. There is no need to uncover some scars.

Some secrets should remain secret forever. The truth does no one any good.

So, Anson kept his mouth shut.

However, things are not that simple.

As they get along, they become closer and more familiar with each other. Unknowingly, they have already broken the boundary of strangers and become an inseparable part of each other's lives; while the anxiety and sadness, fear and pain hidden deep in their souls have been stirring.

Perhaps, escape is not the solution after all.

Perhaps, one day they will need to face the facts, not only him, but also Lucas and the others, otherwise the wound will never heal.

Thus, Anson broke the silence, and at the same time broke the last barrier between them.
