The Best Actor in the Vase of Meiyu

Chapter 949 Schedule Conflict

Chapter 949 Schedule Conflict
“…Roar, roar, roar! Palme d’Or, Palme d’Or! We are now out of our reach! Roar, roar, roar!”

Laughing, screaming, booing, and making a lot of noise.

Even without seeing the screen, Anson could still depict the party atmosphere from the voices of Jake Gyllenhaal and Kirsten Dunst through the receiver. Los Angeles on the other side of the Atlantic Ocean seemed to be more eager to celebrate than the parties involved, with champagne and music playing.

So, who won the Palme d'Or?

Anson laughed in silence, but he didn't mind. He smiled and said, "That's good to know. I'm taking time out of my busy schedule to answer the phone. Do you know how busy I am? You'd better kneel down to answer the phone."

"Yes, yes, I am very humbled." Jack, the funny guy, also cooperated with the performance. "How is my kneeling posture? Is it standard?"

Anson pouted, "Can't see it, Christen?"

Christen shouted into the phone, "Report, very standard, really very standard. This is just a drill. Next time, let Jack repeat it in person. It'd be better if you can get him to take it seriously and do the same to me."

"what……"

Before she could finish her words, Christen exclaimed and it seemed that she was fighting with Jack.

Anson was on the other end of the line. "Hey, you two, is it necessary to call me to show your affection? I had a very full breakfast today."

"Haha, hahaha."

Kristen smiled brightly.

"Jack, Jack! If you don't want to talk to Anson on the phone, get out of here. Go, go, go."

"Anson, congratulations! Congratulations, this is really great."

“So, how did you gain in Cannes this time?”

The phone was unknowingly transferred to Christen's hands, and Jack didn't know where he went.

Anson, "Now I finally understand the French attitude towards movies, real enthusiasm, you should come to Cannes to see it, you will like it."

"Oh, I also met a lot of directors, Ozon, Lars von Trier, Ceylan, you wouldn't believe that there are so many directors outside of Hollywood."

In the years at the turn of the millennium, the concept of the global village has just become popular, and cross-border tourism has entered a period of rapid development. For people, this is the beginning of broadening their horizons and truly appreciating the grandeur of the world.

Actors who have been staying in Hollywood for a long time often fail to broaden their horizons and easily fall into the illusion that there are only Hollywood movies in the world; however, this is not the case.

Cannes is such an important window.

Kristen has always been eager to broaden her horizons and work with more directors, regardless of style or genre, just to explore her own boundaries as an actor.

Compared to "The Elephant" winning the Palme d'Or, what really made Kristen cheer and scream was that Anson was able to meet these top directors.

"You saw it? You really saw it?" Christen seemed extremely excited.

Anson, "Of course. There are not only post-screenings and masterclasses, but you can also meet directors in Cannes. I saw Ceylon rushing around that day."

"He trotted along the Seaside Promenade to see a performance of 'Five in the Afternoon'. I have never seen Ceylon so energetic."

Hahaha.

Kristen laughed so hard that she fell over, even though it wasn't a real joke; but such funny things at the film festival are always fun and unforgettable.

"Oh, I'm jealous." Kristen said without hiding her feelings, "I want to go to the film festival, too."

Anson, "Then we need to work harder and film more." Kristen nodded repeatedly, "So, are you still in Cannes now? When do you plan to come back?"

"Not so fast." Anson said, "Next I'm going to Italy. Remember my band tour? We haven't finished yet. There must be an end to every beginning. Since it has begun, there must be an end."

“I thought the tour was over.”

"No, no, no, no, not at all. We will go to Italy first, and then head north, starting from Greece. We can't miss Hungary, Slovakia and other Eastern European regions. A short break is for better progress. We are ready."

"Wow, this is a big project. To be honest, Jack and I said that day that we should go to Europe and see your street performances in person. It must be a different feeling. We are all looking forward to it."

Kristen couldn't help but jump for joy again.

"You sound very envious," Anson teased.

Kristen nodded calmly. "Indeed, I didn't try to hide my envy. Spending a summer road trip around Europe, performing on the streets and appreciating the charm of ancient cities, God, this is exactly the life I've always dreamed of, okay?"

“And, to stop and go to the Cannes Film Festival and then continue on the road, wow, it couldn’t be better.”

"But since you've decided to go on tour, why don't you tell Sam and the others to postpone the filming to July? That way your schedule won't be so tight."

Here, Kristen is talking about the release schedule for "Spider-Man 2".

Anson chuckled, "I want to, but you can't disrupt the entire crew's schedule just because of me, right?"

Kristen, "Is that so? Then why did you initially suggest shooting in June?"

"What do you mean?"

"The crew originally planned to start filming in July, but later moved it forward to June. I heard that it was because of a conflict in your schedule. Sony Columbia was also worried that the post-production speed would not be able to keep up and make it in time for next year's summer season, so it was moved forward a month."

"No, I didn't." Anson's face was full of question marks. He didn't understand the situation in front of him, and his brows slightly frowned. "Whether it starts in June or July, it has no impact on me. The European tour schedule was decided after the movie schedule was confirmed."

"I was on tour in Europe, and I was always counting the time to return to New York a week in advance to prepare to join the crew."

Kristen didn't think much about it. "Is that so? That could be a false message. You know Sony Columbia. Maybe they tried to change the filming schedule themselves, but they were worried that other actors would refuse to cooperate, so they pushed the responsibility onto you. After all, the leading actor is the absolute core."

Anson also joked, "So, I am responsible for taking the blame?"

Kristen complained, "If you wear the crown, you must bear the weight. You have such a big check, so just bear with it. Anyway, even if you don't take the blame, we will always say bad things about you behind your back."

"Ouch." Anson covered his chest and wailed in pain.

Kristen burst into laughter, and the two exchanged pleasantries for a while before hanging up the phone.

Anson stood there quietly, holding his phone, his thoughts churning.

He felt that something was wrong.

He needs to sort out the time sequence -

The band's album had been finalized for release, and they were considering promotional methods and schedules; then the filming of "Spider-Man 2" was brought forward, which directly led to a schedule conflict with "The Princess Diaries 2". After having to give up the latter, a short period of time was cleared in between, which led to Anson's proposal for a European street tour, and then he was shortlisted for the main competition at the Cannes Film Festival.

What would have happened if, just a hypothesis, the filming schedule of Spider-Man 2 had not been advanced?
"Anson."

A call came from the front, and Anson temporarily pulled himself out of his thoughts. He looked up and saw Edgar coming towards him.
