Chapter 65 Traveling around the world, the world is mourning
The second year of Duke Ai of Lu, the two hundred and seventy-seventh year of Bai Kingdom
Confucius went from the state of Lu to the state of Wei. Duke Ling of Wei asked Confucius about government affairs. Confucius knew that Duke Ling of Wei only had a false reputation of loving talents, so he politely rejected Duke Ling of Wei.

Confucius couldn't live in Weiguo any longer, so he left Weiguo and traveled westward. After passing through Cao State, Cao Boyang did not receive Confucius. Reluctantly, he stopped in Cao State for a while and came to Song State. Song Sima Huanxi hated Confucius and threatened to harm Confucius. Confucius had no choice but to obey after hearing this.

The King of Chu heard that Confucius was a wise man, so he wrote a letter to Confucius saying that he was willing to appoint him and invited him to come to Chu State to govern. Confucius was very happy after hearing this and immediately set off for Chu State. Confucius, who was fifty-nine years old, left Wei and traveled through Cao, Song, and Zheng to Chen and then to Chu.

When they first arrived in Chen State, the people of Chen State heard that Confucius was going to Chu State to govern. They were afraid that Confucius would make Chu State powerful and endanger themselves, so they sent laborers to besiege Confucius's master and disciples in the middle of the road, with no villages in front and no villages behind. If you don't rely on a store, you'll be without food for seven days if you finish all the food you brought. In the end, Zigong found the Chu people, and the Chu State sent troops to meet Confucius, and Confucius' master and disciples were saved from death.

But the Chu people told Confucius that the King of Chu has passed away and the officials in the country do not welcome you. Please find another place! Confucius was very emotional after hearing this. This is the closest he has come to realizing his dream!

The third year of Duke Ai of Lu and the two hundred and seventy-eighth year of Bai Kingdom
Confucius was sixty years old. He said that at this time, he could treat various opinions correctly and not feel uncomfortable.

Confucius passed by the State of Zheng from the State of Chen and encountered a military riot near the capital of the State of Zheng. He had no choice but to let his disciples disperse and flee, and agreed to meet at the east gate of the capital of the State of Zheng. After being separated from his disciples, Confucius was the first to arrive, so he waited alone at the east gate for his disciples to find him.

When Duanmuci asked for directions, the man asked him why he was going to Zhengdu? Duanmu Ci said to look for his mentor, and the man said, I saw an old man at the east gate of Zhengdu. His forehead was like Tang Yao, his neck was like Gao Tao, and his shoulders were like Zheng Zichan, but he was three inches shorter than Yu from the waist down. , looking very embarrassed, like a bereaved dog!

Duanmuci was very sad after hearing this. He didn't let go until he found Confucius. Confucius saw that he was worried and asked. Duanmuci told the passerby what he said. Unexpectedly, Confucius laughed and said: "He described my appearance. , not necessarily right, but to say that I look like a lost dog, it’s absolutely right! It’s absolutely right! Hahaha!”

In autumn, the State of Lu sent a letter to invite Confucius's disciple Ran Qiu to serve as an official. Confucius was very happy after hearing this and said: "The State of Lu invites Ran Qiu. He will never underestimate him, but will make great use of him." Then he said:
"Please! Go back! Go back! My apprentices are all ambitious, talented and organized. I don't know how to train them anymore!"

When Ran Qiu was setting off, all the disciples whispered to Ran Qiu behind Confucius' back: "Master really wants to return to the State of Lu, so if you are to be reused, you must find a way to recall Master!"

Ran Qiu heard this and said: "Qiu knows, brothers and sisters, don't worry, I will definitely do my best to ask you to summon me back to my country!"

The fifth year of Duke Ai of Lu, the two hundred and eightyth year of Bai Kingdom

Confucius came to Ye State from Cai State. Ye Gong, the monarch of Ye Kingdom, asked Confucius about politics and discussed moral issues related to integrity with Confucius. During this period, Ye Gong asked Zhongyou about Confucius' personality, but Zhongyou didn't know how to describe it and did not answer.

Confucius heard about this and said to Zhong Yu, "You, why don't you answer him?"

Zhong Yu said, "I really don't know how to describe Master."

Confucius smiled and said: "Next time someone asks about Confucius's character, you can answer this way: 'Confucius was a man who was tireless in learning, tireless in teaching, worked hard and forgot to eat, and was happy and forgot about worries. But they don’t know that old age is coming’”

In the sixth year of Lu Aigong, in the 281st year of Bai Kingdom

Confucius and his disciples traveled between the states of Chen and Cai, and were trapped by the war. They were trapped until they had no food. Many of his disciples even fell ill due to hunger and hunger. Seeing this, Master Bai offered to go to the nearest state of Chu for help. Before leaving, Confucius and his disciples , Confucius couldn't bear to say: "Master, you must be careful! If you can't get out, you must come back. As long as you can save your life, we will come back and find a way."

Master Bai looked at Confucius and said comfortingly: "Master, please don't worry, I will definitely invite reinforcements, and please wait for me here!" After that, he drove away with the book boy.

When Master Bai arrived at the border town of Chu State, he showed his identity as the grandson of Bai State to the Chu army, and then met the descendants of Baili Xi. At this time, he was serving in the army, and through the Baili family, he was able to meet Chu king.

He said to the King of Chu: "Your Majesty, your father once wanted to appoint a tutor, but failed for various reasons. This was not because the tutor was not talented enough, but because the timing was wrong. Governing a country requires talents, not to mention A country as big as Chu needs more talents.

You also know that my master has as many as two thousand disciples, if not three thousand, and there will be more in the future. These people are all talented people with profound knowledge and high moral character! If you rescue my master, are you still afraid that my brothers and sisters will not come to join you? What a great opportunity to recruit talent! Please consider it, Your Majesty! "

After hearing this, the King of Chu really made sense, so he sent Bailishi to lead troops to go between Chen and Cai to rescue Confucius and his disciples.

When the Confucian disciples were dying of hunger, reinforcements led by Master Bai finally arrived. After getting out of trouble, Confucius went from Chu to Wei.

The seventh year of Duke Ai of Lu and the two hundred and eighty-second year of Bai Kingdom
Confucius returned to Weiguo and advocated that in governing Weiguo, one must first correct his name. He was blocked by Mrs. Jun Nanzi.

In the eleventh year of Duke Ai of Lu, the two hundred and eighty-sixth year of Bai Kingdom
The state of Qi sent troops to attack the state of Lu. Ran Qiu, a disciple of Confucius, led the Lu army to fight against Qi and won. Ji Kangzi asked Ran Qiu where his commanding talent came from, and Ran Qiu said that he learned it from Confucius.

So with the efforts of his disciple Ran Qiu, the sixty-eight-year-old Confucius sent people to welcome Confucius back to Lu with heavy gifts.

Confucius traveled around the world for fourteen years and finally returned to the Lu State after a long absence.

After Confucius returned to the State of Lu, although he wanted to engage in politics, he was still respected and not used. He was named an elder of the country and could only be consulted when he had questions.

Ji Kangzi wanted to implement the land tax, but Confucius opposed it. Said to Ran Qiu:
"To judge whether a person's behavior is the behavior of a gentleman, you should use his etiquette to judge. When giving alms, you will pay seriously; when doing things, you will do it in moderation; when you die, you will give yourself a light burial."

The twelfth year of Duke Ai of Lu, the two hundred and eighty-seventh year of Bai Kingdom

Confucius continued to engage in education and documentation work. In the winter of this year, Confucius's son Kong Li died. The thirteenth year of Duke Ai of Lu, the two hundred and eighty-seventh year of Bai Kingdom

Confucius was seventy years old. He said that even if he acted as he pleased at this time, he could still stay within the rules.

This year, Confucius' favorite disciple Yan Hui died before him. Confucius was very sad and cried: "Oh! God is mourning! Heaven is mourning!"

At this time, Zhong Yu went to serve as an official in Wei State, Master Bai also returned to Bai State to succeed his son, and Duanmu was sent abroad all the year round. Confucius couldn't help but sigh that the students who had followed him from Chen State to Cai State were not around at this time. Taught.

The fifteenth year of Duke Ai of Lu and the two hundred and eighty-ninth year of Bai Kingdom

Confucius' disciple Zhong You died in the civil war in Wei. During the battle, someone suddenly cut off Zhong You's hat string. Zhong You remembered what Confucius said: "A gentleman straightens his clothes and respects his gaze."

Seeing that he was going to die today, Zhong You immediately shouted and stopped and said:

"A gentleman will be crowned even after death."

Then he put his hat crown back on and started fighting again under the watchful eyes of the enemy, but was eventually killed and chopped into pieces.

When Confucius heard about it, he was distraught and said, "Oh, God will punish you!"

After a series of blows, Confucius already knew that his end was approaching.

The sixteenth year of Duke Ai of Lu, the two hundred and ninetieth year of Bai Kingdom
Duanmu came back from his mission and came to see Confucius. Confucius happened to have his staff leaning against the door, and the two looked at each other from a distance. Confucius asked Duanmu Ci: "Ci, why did you come so late?"

Then he sighed and sang: "The mountains are broken! The beams and pillars are destroyed! The philosophers are withered!"

Confucius said with tears: "The world has been without justice for a long time, but no one except Bai Guo, who is trapped in the Taihang Mountains, is willing to adopt his own ideas. It seems that his ideas are impossible to realize."

I heard that people in the Xia Dynasty dreamed of being buried on the east steps when they died, people in the Zhou Dynasty dreamed of being buried on the west steps when they died, and people in the Yin and Shang Dynasties dreamed of being buried between two pillars when they died.

And yesterday at dusk, I dreamed that I was sitting between two couplets, being worshiped by others. It seemed that my ancestor was a Yin merchant! "

On February 479, the sixteenth year of Duke Ai of Lu (April 4, 11 BC), Confucius died of an illness at the age of seventy-three and was buried on the shore of Surabaya in the north of Qufu City in the State of Lu.

After Confucius died, countless disciples came to offer sacrifices. The streets of Qufu were blocked, and disciples of Confucius from all over the country came in droves.

Cries can be heard every day in front of Confucius' coffin.

After Confucius was buried and the tomb was sealed, disciples still came to pay their respects in an endless stream.

One day, a carriage came gurgling to the tomb. Duanmu Ci went to greet it as usual. When he saw three people, old, middle and young, wearing linen clothes, getting out of the carriage, Duanmu Ci immediately knew who was coming.

"Senior Brother Bai Ting! Junior Brother Bai!"

The three people in Baiting returned the greeting. After the three people followed Duanmu Ci to worship in front of the master's tomb, everyone went to the tomb guard camp to talk. The tomb guarding camp is like a small village. There are many Confucian disciples wearing sack clothes guarding the tomb of Confucius.

After constant salutes, everyone finally arrived at Duanmuci's tent.

The silver-haired Bai Ting said: "Junior brother, there is no one in the country now, so I can only guard the tomb here for three days, and I will go back in three days. But Master Bai will guard the tomb here with his son Bai Yi Three years later, he must return to China to replace me.

However, I will let Bai Yi continue to guard the tombs of our father and son until the six-year period expires."

Duanmu Ci expressed his understanding, and Bai Ting added: "One more thing I want to ask you to accept Bai Yi as a disciple. When we return to Bai Kingdom, I hope you can teach him for us."

Duanmu Ci looked at this fifteen-year-old boy and liked it very much, so he happily accepted it. Afterwards, the few of them chatted for a while and then went to the vacant land to build the houses they would live in for the next few years.

The 41st year of Duke Jinggong of Song Dynasty and the 293rd year of Bai Kingdom
In a common people's family, a child was born. His cry resounded throughout the world, causing black clouds to roll and strong winds to blow, but there seemed to be a faint golden light in the black clouds.
