Self-struggle starting from Douluo

Chapter 364 Bai Jingting's Plan

The strange silence lasted for a long time, and no one spoke first.

Bai Jingting just looked at Qinghuan like this. Qinghuan looked calm and not anxious at all.

Finally, Bai Jingting spoke up and said in a cold voice: "Your methods are too immature!"

Qing Huan smiled and said, "It's enough as long as it's enough."

Bai Jingting asked again: "What are you thinking about?"

Qing Huan said, "I'm wondering if I should cause trouble for myself?"

Bai Jingting: "What am I thinking about?"

Qing Huan: "You are thinking about how to cause trouble for me."

Miss Bai looked at her grandfather, then at Qinghuan, and barely followed their thoughts.

"Hahaha..." Bai Jingting laughed out loud, "As expected of a sour scholar who taught him. He has the same character as him!"

Then the topic changed, his smile faded, and he said in a bad tone: "Seeing the trouble I'm in, you're still hesitating whether to help. Didn't the sour scholar teach you the five virtues of Confucianism, "benevolence, righteousness, propriety, wisdom and trustworthiness"? "

Qing Huan looked calm and said, "Confucianism only has 'benevolence'. As for the others, they are just different fruits grown from the seed of 'benevolence'. That's why the teacher only taught me 'benevolence'."

……

The so-called "righteousness" of Confucianism does not mean that if a friend wants to kill or burn someone for no reason, you should help out and keep watch out for the sake of loyalty. This is the brotherhood of the underworld, the loyalty of the common people, and the "righteousness" of Mohism!
Instead, from the perspective of "benevolence", we should understand the purpose of our friends' actions and help them if they are good.

If it is wrong, then advise your friend to prevent him from doing wrong or bad things. Even if your friend does not listen to your advice, report him directly.

Of course, one also has to weigh the severity and consequences. For example, if a father stole someone else's sheep, this was wrong, but according to the criminal law at the time, he was punishable by beheading. In this case, should the son report it?
The mistake has been made. Which is more important, a sheep's life or a human life? And this human life is that of his own father!
Hence, Confucius’s saying “A father should conceal his son’s faults and a son should conceal his father’s faults” has always been criticized, but few people know that this is the “righteousness” after careful consideration by Confucianists!
On the contrary, if the father killed many innocent people, it would be a different matter, so there is the Confucian concept of "killing one's own relatives for the sake of justice."

What's more, the Confucian "love" itself is divided into levels. Love yourself, love your relatives and friends, and then love others... Like the Mohists, loving the world means loving without love, treating everyone equally, and treating all living beings as straw dogs.

This is the "righteousness" of Confucianism, the "benevolence" proposed by Confucius, the "righteousness" derived from Mencius, also called "Haoran Qi", the "ritual" derived from Xunzi, and the "wisdom and trustworthiness" derived from Dong Zhongshu after all schools of thought returned to Confucianism. This is the Five Constant Virtues of Confucianism!

The same is true for the Confucian concept of "faith". It must be weighed out of considerations of "benevolence", and white lies and deception are indispensable.

Therefore, among the five constants of Confucianism, benevolence, righteousness, propriety, wisdom and trustworthiness, "benevolence" is the foundation!
In the end, Confucianism is a very realistic discipline, not the kind of empty slogans that are only shouted but cannot be put into practice!

The balance here is very important. It is easy to become crooked and lose one’s “right heart”.

The standard of weighing is "benevolence", the conscience in our heart!
……

Although Bai Jingting is a military commander, he was able to create martial arts with the old master, so he naturally knew some Confucian knowledge, so he understood Qinghuan's meaning and sneered: "Look at me, the old, weak, sick and disabled, facing desperate situations, then where is your "benevolence"?"

Qing Huan smiled and said, "A benevolent person loves himself first, and then loves others!"

Bai Jingting suddenly cursed: "The sour scholar is selfish, and the students he taught are also like this! Those people in the court are like this, and you are the same!"

Qing Huan was helpless immediately, and said with a wry smile: "Why is the Duke cursing? Aren't I offering myself to you?"

Bai Jingting snorted, "If you didn't need anything from me, would you come to me?"

Qinghuan pursed her lips, smiled, and did not answer.

He doesn't even have time to hide from all this trouble!
A benevolent person first achieves and perfects himself before caring for others.

Qinghuan is an outsider, powerless and alone. He rashly steps into the vortex of the Duke of Zhenguo's Mansion. The troubles he needs to deal with and the dangers he faces are not small!
The seven forces behind the seven candidates are the first to be affected, and there are also the Fangs hiding in the dark, eyeing the Zhenguo Mansion covetously... Only a fool would create all this trouble for no reason!
"I can see it right away. You are just like a sour scholar!"

Bai Jingting said angrily, but his tone revealed satisfaction and relaxation, and said: "Since you have come to my house, you should know the difficulties that my Zhenguo Mansion is facing, right?"

Qing Huan nodded and said, "I can only see that the court does not want the Duke of Zhenguo Mansion to continue to exist, but I don't know the reason."

Miss Bai had been listening quietly, but at this moment she suddenly looked up, with a look of surprise on her cold and beautiful face.

Isn't the dilemma facing the Duke of Zhenguo Mansion that there is no successor? How come it has become that the court does not want the Duke of Zhenguo Mansion to exist?

Bai Jingting was also a little surprised and asked, "When did you come to Beijing?"

Qing Huan said truthfully: "Five days ago."

"Five days..." Bai Jingting sneered and said, "In just five days, you have figured out the real crisis of the Zhenguo Mansion. It's a pity that some people, at their age, are still in the court, but they can't see through this and are eager to send people to snatch the title of Duke..."

Miss Bai said blankly: "Grandpa, this..."

Bai Jingting patted her jade-like hand and said to Qing Huan without any explanation: "You are right, there are indeed people who do not want the Zhenguo Mansion to continue to exist!"

"Someone? Not the court?"

Qing Huan was stunned for a moment, thought for a moment, and asked tentatively: "Grand Emperor?"

"Haha... As expected of a sour scholar..."

Bai Jingting was completely relaxed and said, "Although the Retired Emperor has abdicated, the one who truly controls the court is not the emperor, but our Retired Emperor! You are right when you say that the court does not want the Zhenguo Mansion to continue to exist, because the court represents the Retired Emperor!"

Qing Huan nodded slightly and said, “That’s why you, Duke, used the trick of selecting candidates to bring the seven forces behind them on board to fight against the Emperor together.

The retired emperor does not want the Duke of Zhenguo's Mansion to continue to exist, but these seven forces hold on to the hope of inheriting the title of Duke, which is why the Duke of Zhenguo's Mansion has persisted until now!

The Duke has a long-term vision, so I think he must have a plan..."

Bai Jingting said directly: "No! There is no back-up plan, just drag it out like this."

Qing Huan's mouth twitched slightly, and he said, "Only one person can inherit the position of Duke. Once the dust settles, in addition to the family that benefits, the Duke's Mansion will not only face the retired emperor, but also the other six families..."

Bai Jingting smiled and said, "I know that there is still a male alive in the Zhenguo Mansion..."

"Grandpa!" Miss Bai shouted hurriedly.

Bai Jingting comforted her with his eyes and continued, "But the boy is only six years old, so I need ten years to wait for him to grow up.

If I hold on, I can still delay my death for another year or two. As for the family that has swallowed up the Duke of Zhenguo's Mansion, plus the power of my own family, it won't be a problem for me to hold on for another seven or eight years.

But it is not necessary now, because..."

Qinghuan couldn't help but grin, he knew what Bai Jingting wanted to say.

Sure enough, Bai Jingting seemed very proud and said, "Since you took the initiative to come to my door, then you can solve this pile of troubles for me."
