Chapter 4: Bones
Hearing the young man's words, Fang Chen asked in surprise: "Excuse me, Senior Brother, how do you see this talent?"

The young man smiled and said, "There are two kinds of talent for martial arts. One is comprehension. Those with extraordinary comprehension can learn all kinds of magical skills at a glance. However, comprehension is difficult to measure and can only be determined by martial arts performance."

"The second one is the body. The human body has different strengths and weaknesses. The strong ones are like those born with supernatural powers, and the bodies are like diamonds. These are all superior martial arts physiques. This is what I want to test."

"There's no point in talking more, come here!" After saying that, he waved his hand, motioning Fang Chen to come over.

Fang Chen no longer hesitated after hearing this, but just wondered in his heart what would happen if his iron body was tested now.

The young man casually put his hand on Fang Chen's shoulder and pinched his shoulders, waist and other parts. Fang Chen only felt a stream of heat coming out of his palm and wandering through his limbs.

The young man's originally relaxed expression became more and more solemn, which made Fang Chen stunned.

The burly man next to him also looked at the senior brother in surprise. Does it take so long to just feel the bones and measure the body?

After a while, the eldest senior brother finally let go of his hand and looked at Fang Chen with a gentle smile on his face, "Fang Chen, right? Haha, not bad, you have good talent, you can be considered upper-middle class!"

Then he patted his shoulder and encouraged him: "Work hard, and I look forward to the day when you can actually join the martial arts gym."

When the sturdy man heard this, he was extremely surprised. No wonder the senior brother took so long to feel the bones. This skinny and weak boy actually has such good talent.

“By the way, how old are you?” the eldest brother asked again.

"I just turned seventeen this year." Fang Chen replied.

The other two paused for a moment, revealing a trace of regret, saying that he was a little too old!
However, none of them said anything discouraging. The eldest brother even gave them a few words of encouragement before sending them away.

Fang Chen followed the sturdy man to a corner of the front yard. The sturdy man spoke first: "Junior Brother Fang, my name is Li Quan. You will first follow me to learn the standing practice, and then practice on your own after you are proficient in it."

Fang Chen accepted it, clasped his fists and bowed, saying, "Thank you for troubling Senior Brother Li."

Li Quan smiled coldly, "It's not a big deal. With your talent, you'll be able to learn it in no time."

Fang Chen's eyes flashed with a strange look, and he immediately asked: "Excuse me, Senior Brother Li, how are these talents divided?"

Li Quan said without hesitation: "It's actually not as mysterious as you think. Unless you have a truly superior physique, there is not much difference below that. It's just the difference in the speed of practicing."

"You are already quite good among ordinary people. As long as you are willing to work hard and have enough resources, you may have a chance to enter the realm of strength training in this lifetime."

"Practice strength?" Fang Chen uttered these two words.

Upon hearing this, Li Quan said sternly: "Let me first tell you what martial arts is!"

Fang Chen quickly listened attentively.

"Martial arts, martial arts, is actually a competition of who can fight better!" Li Quan clenched his fists and said firmly.

Changing the subject, he asked, "Then do you know how to fight better?"

Fang Chen thought for a while and answered: "Strength, speed, defense and endurance?"

Li Quan showed a hint of surprise on his face, and thought to himself, it seems that this kid has a good understanding. This is simple to say, but not everyone can summarize it.

After all, this was a feudal dynasty where it was difficult for common people to study.

Thinking of this, Li Quan couldn't help but pay more attention. He nodded slightly and said with a smile: "That's right, so the first step for a warrior is to train his strength!"

"Once you break through and enter the realm of strength training, dozens of ordinary people will not be able to approach you. Your arms have thousands of pounds of strength!"

As Fang Chen listened to Li Quan's description, a look of anticipation appeared on his face.

Li Quan immediately added: "But before you train your strength, you must first nourish your body. Only when you have a good body can you start training your strength!"

"What you martial arts apprentices need to do is to take care of your health!"

"And the key to keeping healthy is to keep healthy. How can we keep healthy?"

"Standing meditation and food supplements!" Without waiting for Fang Chen to speak, Li Quan gave the answer directly.

Li Quan looked at Fang Chen with a little regret, "If my junior brother was born into a rich family, he would have achieved something with his above-average physique. What a pity!"

And he is old too, Li Quan added in his mind, a normal person would start practicing martial arts at the age of twelve or thirteen, those from wealthy families could advance the time by relying on nourishing medicine, Fang Chen is four or five years late, and his future achievements would be affected.

Fang Chen didn't care. Although what he wore wasn't tattered, his robe had turned white from being starched. Anyone with a discerning eye could see his condition.

This is also the reason why the eldest senior brother, although slightly surprised at his aptitude, did not take it too seriously.

His family background is too poor, so it will take a lot of time for him to maintain his health. He is also relatively old, and his physique is not of superior quality, just above average. It is not worth the investment for a martial arts school.

He was stuck in a situation where he couldn't move forward.

However, he still showed a trace of unwillingness in front of Li Quan. Li Quan encouraged him: "Brother, don't be discouraged. With your talent, as long as you work hard, it is still possible to master the Zhuang Gong within these three months."

“As long as you get started with Zhuang Gong, you can start to maintain your health, and your strength will be very different from that of ordinary people.”

"The key is to enter the realm of health preservation within three months, then you can become a formal disciple of the martial arts school, and there will be plenty of opportunities to make money in the future!"

Fang Chen naturally showed a hint of longing, which made Li Quan smile in his heart. This was also the reason why he showed goodwill to Fang Chen.

Although Fang Chen is not in the eyes of the senior brother, it is very likely that he will reach his level in the future. Building a good relationship now may be useful in the future.

"Okay, I'm going to teach you our Liyang martial arts school's health-preserving standing exercise now!"

Li Quan smiled proudly, "The most famous standing skill in our martial arts school is derived from the Fiery Sun Fist. This martial art can only be taught by the master himself."

"The Fiery Sun Fist Stance that I am going to teach you now is only a little bit of the basics, but it is much better than the health-preserving stances of the other two martial arts schools."

"Their family is not as generous as our master!" Li Quan said with a look of disdain on his face.

Fang Chen thought to himself that it was no wonder that the Liyang Martial Arts School had the best reputation. This was probably part of the reason.

Judging from the look of Senior Brother Li Quan, the relationship between the three martial arts schools in Tongcheng should not be very good. This is normal, as colleagues are enemies!

Then Li Quan sighed, "Although the Fiery Sun Fist is powerful, it is also more difficult to learn than other stances."

He looked at Fang Chen and said, "There are two other standing exercises in the martial arts hall that you can choose from. The master said that the opportunity has been given to you. The choice is up to you."

"Choose. This is a decision that every talented new apprentice needs to make. I would also like to remind you that with your talent, if you choose those two schools, you will most likely be able to enter within three months. If you choose the Fiery Sun Fist, that may not be the case!"

Since a martial arts school is open for business, it is of course impossible to only let one person learn for three months. As long as one has money, one can continue to learn. However, it does not look like Fang Chen can come up with another ten taels of silver, so Li Quan gave him a kind reminder.

Fang Chen did not hesitate. With the "Talent Sequence" in his body, if he had a choice, he would naturally learn the best.

What's more, he has just integrated the "Copper Skin and Iron Bones" and has been rated as an upper-middle-level physique. In a while, it will definitely be much more than that, so he is full of confidence now!

"Just learn the Fiery Sun Fist!" Fang Chen said firmly.

"Good, you're a real man! I like people like you!" Li Quan patted Fang Chen with satisfaction.

A palm as big as a palm fan landed on him, making Fang Chen grimace in dismay.

Li Quan smiled awkwardly, quickly retracted his hand and scratched his head, "Brother, your body is too weak, I don't know how you have such a strong body, listen to me, you must get something to replenish it."

"Before entering the realm of health preservation, including the entire realm of health preservation, food supplements are the most important!"

Perhaps Fang Chen was really to his liking, Li Quan not only spoke more affectionately, but also gave sincere advice.

After hearing this, Fang Chen nodded seriously. He still had three taels of silver left, which he had not planned to save.

He originally planned to buy some good things to nourish his father and Xiaoting, which did not conflict with his plan.
