Siheyuan: Relieve stress and relieve worries

Chapter 469 Buddha Stone Carving

Chapter 469 Thousand Buddha Stone Carvings
The night in the small canyon was very quiet, even the sound of birds was gone. Da Wang and Xiao Wang were lying on the front and back of the car, one and the other, and they were snoring. Yan Jiekuang didn't know why he became uneasy when he saw the five relics. He lay quietly on the recliner, smoking and looking at the starry sky.

Chen Liang and Chen Fang had already fallen asleep in the car. Only Nannan had her eyes wide open, lying quietly on the blanket next to Yan Jiekuang, babbling a few words from time to time.

Yan Jiekuang picked up Nannan and let her lie on his recliner. Nannan looked up and saw the sky full of stars. Nannan smiled and pointed at this and that and babbled. Yan Jiekuang didn't know what she was saying, but he echoed her.

When Yan Jiekuang woke up, he was covered with a blanket and the entire canyon was silent. Yan Jiekuang was afraid that something had happened to the children, so he stood up and looked for them. In the distance, he heard the sounds of children playing and the calls of Big King and Little King. Only then did Yan Jiekuang feel relieved.

In the morning, Yan Jiekuang cooked porridge and thought about calling his parents, but when he saw that his cell phone had no signal, he gave up. When breakfast was ready, Yan Jiekuang shouted in the direction of the children, "It's time for dinner."

The first ones to come back are always the big and small Wang, who have a special liking for the bowl of milk in the morning.

Yan Jiekuang told the two children to pack up. Why couldn't they stay here? They still had to find a way out. After packing, Yan Jiekuang drove the car and continued on the thousand-year-old road. Not long after, they saw a village in the distance. After asking, they found out that this was Wangjiahe at the foot of Yuhuang Mountain, and Hanzhong was further ahead.

Yan Jiekuang threw down a few boxes of cigarettes, stepped on the accelerator and rushed to Hanzhong. But before he arrived in Hanzhong, Yan Jiekuang had a new understanding of the people of Hanzhong. They really stopped strangers when they saw them. People from every village had to look through your documents before letting you pass. Yan Jiekuang finally arrived in HZ city after going through untold hardships.

Yan Jiekuang drove all the way to the Baijiangtai before he found a decent hotel. By then, the children were tired and hungry. Yan Jiekuang took them to have a simple meal and then went back to the room to sleep. As usual, Yan Jiekuang slept with Nannan and Chen Liang slept with his sister. He thought everything was arranged, but unfortunately he forgot about Da Wang and Xiao Wang.

Big Wang and Little Wang hadn't eaten since lunch, and Yan Jiekuang forgot about them again in the evening. The two of them saw this and decided to find something to eat by themselves. In the middle of the night, they opened the car door, ran out, and started strolling on the street.

The next day, Yan Jiekuang took the children to have breakfast as usual. He gave Da Wang and Xiao Wang two large bowls of milk and eggs, which he placed directly in the dining room of the car, where they ate.

Yan Jiekuang checked out of the hotel, drove the car slowly towards Guangyuan.

The HZ city was in an uproar at this time. Last night, two sheep and several chickens were lost in the urban-rural fringe area, and some residents in the city also lost several chickens.

The key point is that the crime scene was too bloody, with blood everywhere. All that was left of one sheep was its skin and skeleton, and the other sheep was nowhere to be found.

Rumors were everywhere. Some said that a pack of wolves came in and raided HZ city. Others said that two lions were seen at night and entered HZ city. Regardless of the legends and rumors, the culprit who caused all this ran into HZ city.

When the public security officers in HZ city heard about it, they conducted a careful investigation and found that it was indeed true. They were so shocked that they immediately mobilized the masses and searched the city. They found that there were no wolves or lions in the city. They searched for a whole day and then let down their guard. They called on everyone not to spread or believe rumors. But the masses were not happy. They thought, could these two sheep and dozens of chickens be eaten by ghosts?

At this time, the culprit of this incident was lying on the floor of the restaurant behind Yan Jiekuang's driving seat like a good baby, sleeping soundly.

After entering Guangyuan, which was Sichuan, Yan Jiekuang's car drove slowly along the Jialing River. During the drive, he called Ji Lian. The person on the other end of the phone complained that he had not called back for several days. Yan Jiekuang carefully explained that he had entered Sichuan, and that Grandpa Ji's grave was safe, so his family could rest assured. Ji Lian also told him about the affairs at home, and he could rest assured.

After hanging up the phone, Yan Jiekuang parked his car at the pier on the east bank of the Jialing River, because Yan Jiekuang saw that the cliffs on the shore were densely packed with carved stone statues. It was the first time Yan Jiekuang had seen such a thing, so he thought he should go and take a look.

As soon as the car stopped, a bunch of people gathered around, most of them were coolies, that is, people who transport goods. Yan Jiekuang didn't mind and greeted them politely. When they heard that they were not from this place, they didn't say much. An old man asked in a language close to Mandarin: "Young man, where are you from?"

Yan Jiekuang said, "Old man, I came from Sijiu City. I passed by here, looked at the stone carvings, stopped for a while and then left."

"Oh, you are here to travel. You have never seen this car before, so you find it interesting." The old man explained to everyone.

"It's okay, just look around, but there are two big dogs in the car, so don't scare them," Yan Jiekuang reminded.

"What a big dog, mad at people?" a young man said as he stuck his head into the car. Da Wang and Xiao Wang stood up and stared at him. The young man suddenly backed away and sat on the ground, talking incoherently.

The person next to him asked what happened to him, and the young man said, "It looks like a mastiff."

Yan Jiekuang opened the back door without saying anything, and Da Wang and Xiao Wang got out of the car in a domineering manner, and the crowd surrounding them dispersed with a loud noise.

The old man who started the greeting asked, "Young man, where did you get those two mastiffs? Tibetans won't give them to anyone easily."

Yan Jiekuang smiled and said, "I picked them up when I was a child and slowly raised them. Now, I came to Tibet mainly to trace their roots."

The old man put his hands together and said, "Amitabha!" They knew that all mastiffs have Buddha nature.

The big king and the little king didn't even look at them. They raised their heads and stared at a cave. Yan Jiekuang also saw it. It must be something special that the big king and the little king stared at. However, he didn't leave in a hurry. He asked Chen Liang and Chen Fang to come down, and he carried Nannan on his back and took the sarcophagus with him. Then he led the big king and the little king to the big cave in the middle. The old man looked at the direction they were going and said to himself, "It's really Buddha nature. I haven't been here before, but I know that is the Sakyamuni Cave."

When everyone heard this, they were all shocked. They looked sideways and saw that the man was indeed going to the Sakyamuni Cave with three children and two mastiffs.

As soon as they entered the cave, the Big King and the Little King let out angry howls, which echoed on both sides of the Jialing River. Yan Jiekuang had already seen that the Buddha's head was gone. Yan Jiekuang comforted the Big King and the Little King, and bowed down, doing three bows and nine kowtows. Chen Liang and Chen Fang imitated Yan Jiekuang in the same way.

Yan Jiekuang lit a bundle of incense, bowed three times respectfully, and then inserted the incense into the incense burner. Judging from the appearance of the incense burner, no one had come to burn incense for many years.

Yan Jiekuang looked around carefully and felt that the sarcophagus on his back moved slightly, but he didn't dare to take it out. Who knew if anyone was watching nearby?

Just like that, after worshipping Sakyamuni, Yan Jiekuang took the children for a walk around. Yan Jiekuang felt very sad. Many Buddha heads had been stolen, and some had even been destroyed. This was probably the punishment of history. Such good stone carvings, such pious stone carvings, had been mostly destroyed.

Yan Jiekuang brought the children and the mastiff back to the car. He was a little indifferent to the people here, perhaps because they did not guard the precious heritage left by their ancestors. He drove directly to GY city.
