Chapter 52 A Breeze Rising
The morning in the courtyard always starts with noise.

It was a new day again. Yan Jiekuang put on a white shirt, small cloth shoes, and carried a small schoolbag.

"Dad, I'm going to school." Yan Jiekuang said as he ran towards the gate.

Last night, the family was so overwhelmed by the news that Yan Jiecheng was going to technical secondary school that they agreed to let Yan Jiekuang go to and from school by himself and bring his own meals.

By the time they reacted, Yan Jiekuang only left them with his back, meaning that I have grown up.

When Yan Jiekuang came back yesterday, he observed the road leading to the school. He couldn’t say that he was very familiar with it, but he would not get lost.

Yan Jiekuang strolled out of Nanluoguxiang and turned a corner. He saw a steamed bun shop and walked up to it. "Comrade, two steamed buns and a bowl of fried liver, please."

The old man saw that it was a new customer, and a little kid at that. "Two cents, one ounce of grain coupons, and half an ounce of meat coupons," the old man said with a smile.

Yan Jiekuang took out the money, counted it, handed it over, and said, "What's your name? I'll come here often in the future."

"My surname is Tong. Little guy, bring your own money and be careful." Master Tong reminded.

"Got it." Yan Jiekuang didn't care at all.

After a while, the steamed buns and fried liver were served. Yan Jiekuang tasted them carefully and said, "You can't say how delicious it is, but what you eat is the flavor."

After finishing the meal, Yan Jiekuang said, "Master Tong, goodbye!"

He turned around and walked towards the school.

When he arrived at the classroom of Class 2, Grade 2, he found that there were no empty seats in the front. He walked straight to the last row by the window and sat down.

The homeroom teacher, Ms. Zhang, is also their Chinese teacher, and the first class is hers.

Yan Jiekuang listened for more than ten minutes and was lost in thought. He had learned all of them and had a deeper understanding of them.

The quiet class passed quickly. The bell rang and the teacher left. The room seemed to explode with a lot of noise.

In this way, the whole morning passed, and Yan Jiekuang suddenly remembered that he did not send the lunch box to the boiler room. It was still in the space.

I can’t go with everyone, so I’ll have to find a place where no one is around to take it out.

It wasn’t that complicated and the boiler room was a mess, so I just took out the lunch box and turned back to the classroom.

As soon as I sat down, I saw Zhang Wenchang coming over with a lunch box, "Jie Kuang, let's eat together."

Anyone who can say this in this day and age truly regards himself as a friend.

"Come together, I brought some kimchi I made for you to try." Yan Jiekuang said.

Yan Jiekuang brought two-grain steamed buns and homemade pickles today, one of which was golden cucumber and the other was pickled double crisps, made of squid shreds and duck liver.

What Zhang Wenchang brought was different. It was simple and crude, with two steamed buns, an egg and a chicken leg.

The two of them shared the meal. Zhang Wenchang always said that he didn't like chicken legs. Zhang Wenchang kept eating Yan Jiekuang's dishes and let Yan Jiekuang eat the chicken legs.

Zhang Wenchang finished and said, "I'll be with you from now on. Your food is delicious."

Yan Jiekuang didn't understand what he meant at first, but after listening to him, he understood. There was no one to cook in his family, and they were tired of eating ready-made food every day.

Yan Jiekuang said, "Bring some steamed buns tomorrow and I'll treat you to a good meal." Zhang Wenchang agreed.

It was an uneventful day. After school, Yan Jiekuang no longer waited for the second child and went home by himself.

Front yard of the Siheyuan

Yan Jiekuang returned home safely, finished his homework, and then took out the books in his warehouse that he had not read yet. His studies were really too boring.

The remaining books in the main warehouse are all ancient books, and they are not complete. Of the Hundred Schools of Thought, only the Hundred Schools of Thought are left. However, Ming has not seen it. It seems that he can only borrow books from the library.

Yan Jiekuang left the courtyard, turned left and headed towards the west wing.

As soon as I entered the door, I saw there was a guest in the room. It was Secretary Han.

Yan Jiekuang called out, "Auntie Han" and went to the inner room to look for his younger sister.

Secretary Han wanted Yan Bugui to continue to be the manager, and this was also Director Wang's opinion.

Yan Bugui was frightened by the injury suffered by the mistress and was a little hesitant.

Secretary Han gave earnest advice, pointing out the difficulties faced by the street office.

Yan Bugui finally said that he would think about it and give an answer in two days. There is nothing going on in the compound now, it is quite peaceful, and being a manager only plays a role in passing on information.

After Secretary Han left, Yan Jiekuang came out holding his sister and a piece of candy in his hand.

Seeing Yan Bugui looking worried, Yang Ruiping tried to comfort him, "If you really have a hard time, just don't be the boss."

Yan Bugui sighed and said, "I don't care. In the future, the eldest will be assigned, and then the second one. They will all go through the street office. I still have to build a good relationship with the street office."

Yan Jiekuang gave his father a thumbs up, the old man was far-sighted. Yang Ruiping thought about it and realized that it was true.

Yan Bugui said: "This courtyard seems peaceful on the surface, but Dr. An has told me several times that he wants to move. And Yi Zhonghai and He Daqing are fighting for some reason. It's also quite chaotic."

Yan Jiekuang did not try to persuade him, and left it all up to him. He thought that matters in the Siheyuan were just family matters and nothing serious.

Yan Jiefang came back and saw that the house was quite depressing, so he asked, "When is dinner?" Well, Yang Ruiping went to cook.

Yan Bugui glared at the second brother, then turned around and looked at the third brother, "You've been looking for me for so long, what do you want from me?"

"It's nothing, just get a library card." Yan Jiekuang said nonchalantly.

Yan Bugui was quite surprised and asked, "The library is quite far away. It's easy to get a library card. I'll give it to you tomorrow."

After dinner, just as they were about to leave, Yan Bugui said, "No matter what we eat at home, it must be steamed bread, cornmeal porridge and pickles when we are outside."

Yang Ruiping asked in confusion, "I heard from Widow Wang that the food outside is still good. What's going on?"

“Just in case, if you become the manager, a group of people will be watching you,” Yan Bugui said.

West Wing of the Central Courtyard of Siheyuan
There were six dishes on the table: scrambled eggs with leeks, stir-fried shredded potatoes, braised beef with soy sauce, roast chicken, braised tofu, and braised pig's trotters with soy sauce. The wine was Lotus White.

Yi Zhonghai, Liu Haizhong, Chang Lin, Jia Dongxu, and Zhang Erzhu, five of them sat together, toasting each other.

Yi Zhonghai was promoted to level 6 fitter in this grading process, and Liu Haizhong was promoted to level 5 forger.

The previous things have come to an end, except that the street office has left a foundation.

Yi Zhonghai clinked glasses with Liu Haizhong and said, "Hey, Lao Liu, you've suffered too. I'm not willing to accept this."

"What can you do even if you're unwilling? The matter has already been determined and cannot be overturned. The only thing left is who tipped off the authorities?" Liu Haizhong took a sip and replied.

Jia Dongxu said: "Yes, He Daqing and Sha Zhu also asked, who is it?"

"I don't know who he is, but he is really extraordinary. Anyone who sees him will feel weak in the knees," said Zhang Erzhu.

Yi Zhonghai looked at his apprentice and said, "I was taken away at that time. Tell me in detail."

Jia Dongxu recounted everything that happened that day, and Zhang Erzhu supplemented his comments.

Yi Zhonghai and Liu Haizhong listened carefully, not missing any details. Chang Lin was just a bystander, listening to a story.

After the story was told, everyone was silent for a while.

"Is it the Yan family?" Liu Haizhong spoke first. He thought of Yan Jiekuang being hospitalized.

Jia Dongxu said: "The Yan family ran away on the 30th and returned to the countryside."

Liu Haizhong thought about it and it made sense. If he couldn't even survive the New Year, how could he achieve anything great?

The Yan family that Yi Zhonghai knew didn't have this ability. It was just a teacher with a large family. Yi Zhonghai shook his head.

Zhang Erzhu said, "He Daqing suspected it was the Xu family."

Yi Zhonghai raised his head, and Zhang Erzhu continued, "When the incident happened, the Xu family was there. Since the incident happened that day, the Xu family has never appeared again until today."

Liu Haizhong looked at Yi Zhonghai, and Yi Zhonghai said objectively: "This matter is very strange. No matter whether it is the Yan family or the Xu family, how did they know about the old lady? Could they be the old lady's enemy?"

Liu Haizhong suddenly realized, yes, no matter who it is, how did he know about the deaf old lady?

"Come, have a drink." Yi Zhonghai eased the atmosphere.

At this time, Chang Lin said, "Is it true? Why not just ask the deaf old lady?"

Yi Zhonghai's eyes lit up and he immediately knew what to do.
