Chapter 9 Before the Hunt

"Queen!"

Standing on the open space, Li Qing stretched out a hand, slightly bent his thumb and little finger, and separated his index, middle and ring fingers vertically, concentrating on feeling the wonderful feeling that Vesemir had described!
Then Li Qing felt a circle of faint light appearing around his body, and it seemed that it would take shape in the next second.

Suddenly, he felt dazed, as if someone hit him on the head with a fist. Li Qing almost fell to the ground, and the pose he had just made also fell apart.

"Fuck!" After covering his head for a few seconds, Li Qing gradually came to his senses.

“Hahaha!” Vesemir laughed. When he saw Li Qing recover, he said, “Well? This is the result of forcibly using the seal without magic power.”

"Spiritual power will replace the consumption of magic power. If the mental power is not enough, you may even faint!"

Vesemir looked at Li Qing's face and continued, "But from your looks, your mental strength should be pretty good. I have vaguely seen the seal succeed just now, and it was almost released."

"But even if you learn the seals I taught you, you won't be able to use them without magic power."

"Even if you drink the potion, the toxicity in it is too much for you to bear."

Li Qing shook his head, feeling much better, and waved to Vesemir: "It's okay, I have my own way."

Opening the system panel, the skill bar has been updated: Magic Seal lv1. Li Qing smiled. As long as he has learned it, he will naturally find a way to use it in the future.

"In that case, I will not say any more." Vesemir said nothing more. He raised his head and looked at the sky. The sun was already setting towards the horizon.

"We have been out for a while. Geralt should be back. Let's go back to the hotel and rest. We will act again tomorrow."

Li Qing naturally had no objection and walked towards the hotel with Vesemir.

When we returned to the inn, Geralt had indeed returned and was eating at a table.

Li Qing and Vesemir ignored the gazes of the other people in the hotel and walked over to sit in front of him. Vesemir asked, "Any news?"

Geralt nodded. "One good news, one bad news."

"The Nilfgaardians did see Yennefer, but they asked us to get rid of the griffin first."

"We must first investigate the situation, find the griffin's nest, set traps, and then we can hunt."

“Ha, it seems they understand that they need to find professionals to handle this.” Vesemir said with a smile, and then seeing that Geralt seemed to be thinking about something, he asked: “What’s wrong, what are you thinking about?”

Geralt raised his head and looked at Li Qing: "I was wondering, didn't he say before that Yennefer would come to us after finding the griffin? When will she show up?"

Li Qing then remembered what he had said before, and after thinking for a while he said, "Maybe, they have already known your news and should be rushing here. It shouldn't take long."

“So you’re giving up the commission?” Vesemir looked at Geralt.

"Of course not! Since I have accepted the mission, I will complete it." Geralt shook his head and continued to ask Li Qing: "Your goal in coming to this world is to see this griffin?"

Li Qing nodded. There was nothing to hide. The other party also had to deal with the griffin anyway.

“Very good.” Geralt said nothing more: “Then we can rest. I will go collect clues tomorrow, and then we can act directly.”

Li Qing and Vesemir naturally would not object. In the woods, Li Qing and Vesemir walked on the path, trying to hide themselves as much as possible and not make too much noise.

The two of them had found the location of the griffin's nest, but the griffin was not inside.

But no one could guarantee when the griffin would fly back, so Vesemir was very careful.

Li Qing was fine. He was mainly afraid that the griffin would run away and not return to its nest. Then it would be difficult for him to find it. It would be better to follow the original process and rely on the potion prepared by Geralt to attract the griffin.

The two observed the griffin's nest for a while and then left.

Back in White Orchard Village, Geralt had already found some buckthorn, prepared the bait, and also took the opportunity to get a crossbow from the blacksmith.

It was only at this time that Li Qing remembered that he could actually get some throwing knives or something. With his extraordinary strength, it could be of great use, at least better than being able to only fight in close combat.

But time waits for no one, so after thinking about it, I decided to give up and wait until I return to the Monster Hunter World.

Vesemir checked the bait Geralt had prepared and fiddled with the crossbow hanging from his waist. “I didn’t expect you to be so quick. You already have all these ready.”

"We also found the griffin's nest, inside the fox forest. We also found an open space suitable for placing bait. It should be a good place to deal with the griffin."

"Well, let's go now!"

Geralt and the other man climbed onto their horses, and Li Qing followed behind miserably again.

Fortunately, the distance this time was not far, and it took only more than ten minutes to reach the open space found by Vesemir and Li Qing.

Li Qing naturally didn't need to get involved in placing the bait. Geralt prepared everything quickly, then returned to a few relatively hidden trees nearby and began to talk with Vesemir.

Li Qing sat on the ground bored, thinking about what to do after killing the griffin and returning to the Monster Hunter world.

The blue bear beast from before is most likely dead. If I want to complete the hunter trial and become a real hunter, I probably have to find another target.

He just didn't know whether the Thunder Wolf Dragon would leave. If it didn't leave, he would have to think about how to escape from it.

Vesemir and Geralt were talking about what happened after they found Yennefer. Then, seeing Geralt was silent and wondering what he was thinking about, he asked, "Young man, what are you thinking about?"

Li Qing raised his head and looked at him: "Nothing, I was just thinking about how to deal with a big guy when I get back."

“Oh?” Vesemir suddenly became interested. “What big thing?”

"Come to think of it, I've experienced a lot in my life, but I've never communicated with beings from another world. Can you tell me what your world is like?" He sat down, and Geralt looked at Li Qing with some curiosity.

"My world is nothing more than a story of humans fighting monsters." Li Qing sighed, "There are terrifying monsters everywhere. The griffins we have to deal with can only be snacks for those powerful monsters at most."

"Humanity has nearly been extinct more than once. Monsters that manipulate natural disasters, storms, lightning, fire and frost have wreaked havoc. Even though things have improved a lot now, we are still struggling to survive in the cracks of the monsters."

"It is only through the desperate fights of brave hunters that humans have been able to gain a space to barely survive."
