Bonami asked his friend Andrew to give his opinion.

Even though art is often considered to be above war, violence and discrimination, I feel very strongly about promoting the transcendence of creation in order to criticize the absurdity of war, violence and discrimination.

An exhibition, like the Biennale, is a feeble organization that can serve as a symbolic site for possible solutions.

The Biennale is also a dream - when the Venice Biennale was founded, the seeds of the conflict between the past and the future were sown. Even the genes of the Biennale are contained in the contradiction between utopia and reality, its own dreams and its own conflicts.

The dream is that art can speak a universal language.

Of course, in the national pavilion, this common language was affected by conflicts, which led to confusion. This is reality. Fortunately, we see young artists like Jacques and Jiang Zhe emerging, and I hope there will be more and more such painters.

Because the artist invites reflection on existence, on the unstable emotions of human beings, on our daily relationships with others, with the world, with our own past, with conditioning cultural archetypes, with our deepest fears and the factors that determine them.”
