Chapter 49: The Wild Hunt Arrives
New York, top floor of Stark Technology Building.

"You! You and your father are both the same self-righteous idiots!"

Looking at Tony in front of him, who was inside the Iron Monger armor, Obadiah's eyes were filled with anger and unwillingness.

Obadiah had already been working at Stark Industries when Tony's father Howard had just established it. It can even be said that the reason why Stark Industries has been able to achieve what it is today, in addition to Howard's genius ideas, is Obadiah's constant lobbying of congressmen and potential customers.

Howard died early, and Tony was also raised by Obadiah. To be honest, Obadiah didn't care much about Tony's arrogance. After all, in Obadiah's opinion, Tony is not as talented as his father. As a close friend of his father, Obadiah thought that he should have no problem with tolerance for such a genius.

But unfortunately, even in this situation, Tony's arrogance still touched the sore spot in Obadiah's heart.

"I just closed the weapons department! You and I are not short of money! It's just a number. I want to ask, uncle, why did you do this!"

As he spoke, Tony, wearing a gold and red Mark III armor, had two beam cannons in his palms. However, because the new version of the reactor had been pulled out and turned into the energy core of the big iron block in front of him, the reactor on Tony's body was an inferior product of the original version. Although the energy was still stable, the output power obviously did not meet Tony's expectations.

There was no other way. Although he felt that this was a waste of the Iron Man suit's performance, Tony still decided to use Newtonian mechanics to launch the most effective attack at this stage - a dive flight, then climb onto Iron Monger's body and use his suit to be more compact and flexible to swing his fist.

"To be honest, it's hard to imagine this as a high-tech way of fighting."

Tony was also stunned when he saw Ron suddenly appearing at the edge of the battlefield, and Geralt and Ciri who just came up from the elevator. Then Obadiah seized the opportunity in this moment of distraction, and Iron Monger grabbed Tony's leg with his big hand and threw it hard.

The sturdy armor rubbed against the ground, sparks and lightning flew along the way, knocking over the tables, chairs, benches, refrigerators, and wine cabinets. It was obvious that Obadiah must have gone to the bowling alley often to relax, otherwise he would not have been able to clear the field so neatly.

Getting up from the ground, Tony said simply, "It's a good thing that you are here, help me kill this guy! Of course, I mean just subdue him, no need to really kill him. Rewards are easy to talk about, the last thing I lack is money!"

"I think you're crazy! You're talking to the air and you want to kill me?!"

Although they are all fully enclosed iron armor, thanks to the Mark III being light and thin enough, Tony can see directly outside through the helmet and get data assistance from Jarvis in a special way of AR.

But the same cannot be said for Iron Monger. Obadiah mainly completes observation through the multiple electronic display screens inside and the helmet that looks like a head, but is actually the 'main camera'.

To be honest, this is safer, but at the same time, Ron can block almost all indirect observation.

Therefore, in Obadiah's view, Tony is simply crazy because his saviors are on the other side.

In response to this, looking at Obadiah, or to be more precise, at Iron Monger, Ron nodded seriously.

Compared to the Mark III, the Iron Monger armor is more rugged, giving people the feeling of a steel giant born for war.

The body is huge and rough, and because it was cast in a hurry, some traces of welding guns can be vaguely seen in the details of the bulletproof plate armor on the body. The right arm is connected to a six-barrel spiral machine gun, and the heavy ammunition chain is exposed to the air. The thick bullets can turn into a storm at any time and tear everything in front of it.

There is also a seven-barrel missile launch slot on the left arm. Although the exposed hydraulic rods, air pumps, gears, etc. can be seen in some places due to the rough workmanship, it is undeniable that it is this kind of bold and open craftsmanship, combined with the cold luster of steel, which adds a kind of rough, hard-core beauty like the old Russians.

"To be honest, I think this thing is much cooler than your sissy armor."

"Then there must be something wrong with your aesthetic taste."

Tony's face was full of disgust.

Seeing Tony still talking to the air, Obadiah was also furious:

"I've had enough! I've had enough of you two!"

Obadiah gritted his teeth and said, "I've had enough of you geniuses! Because you have talents and abilities far beyond ordinary people, you don't care about other people's thoughts and trample on other people's pride and dignity!!"

"It's easy for you to close a weapons department, right? It's just a little less money, right!"

"But that's my life's work! It's my life's work!! You bastard!"

Obadiah raised his right arm mercilessly, and the six-barreled spiral machine gun began to rotate slowly amid Tony's slightly panicked expression.

"When Stark Industries was still in a garage, I was the one working! When your father was having a life of luxury, I was the one negotiating the business! When there was a problem with your father's work, I was the one apologizing! I was the one begging those customers to come back and take another look! I thought you would be better. Now, I understand..."

"You're all the same! You geniuses! I've had enough of you!!!"

Hearing this, Tony seemed to want to say something. But before he opened his mouth, he looked at Ron. After getting permission, Ciri also took a deep breath. Then, waves of mystical energy surged in his eyes, and along with the surge of magic power, the power of the ancient blood in his body was stimulated. Taking a step forward, the slender figure instantly passed through the cracks of time and space and came directly behind Iron Monger. The Uru metal sword in his hand, which was enchanted by Queen Frigga with runes, left a white light in the air, and then, Iron Monger's arm made of aerospace-grade alloy was directly cut off.

The process was so fast and smooth that it felt like a hot knife cutting butter. When Tony came to his senses, he saw Iron Monger's arm fall directly to the ground with a thud, splashing frost all over the ground.

"Um?!"

Obadiah's arm was suddenly cut off, and there was a trace of fear in his eyes. He looked behind him and swung his left arm without hesitation. Unfortunately, just as he turned around, Ciri slashed at the hydraulic rod of Iron Monger's leg that was exposed to the air.

The light of the rune flickered slightly, and the hard steel became as fragile as cardboard. The center of gravity was unbalanced, and there was only a series of crackling sounds of steel colliding, and then Iron Overlord lost his balance and fell to the ground. He wanted to get up, but before he could exert any strength, Geralt, who was walking over, raised the sharp blade in his hand and slashed him down with a sword.

Tony Stark was stunned when he saw the sword slicing through the military alloy like butter. He pointed at the Uru sword in Geralt's hand and said, "What on earth is this? Is it magic? Obadiah's armor is a little ugly, but I don't think they cut corners!"

In response, Ron just said indifferently: "Uru metal, imported from Asgard, with the autograph of Queen Frigga on it."

Hearing this, Tony Stark was also slightly stunned, and then hesitantly said: "Is this...Norse mythology?"

"Almost the same, but it's different from the processed myths in Northern Europe. Asgard is one of the most powerful interstellar empires in the universe."

As he spoke, Ron waved his hand and said, "It's too far to talk about this now. Anyway, you should leave. I want to requisition this place."

"Hey! This is my home! Shouldn't you inform me in advance before you requisition it?!"

As he spoke, perhaps thinking that the crisis had been resolved, Tony simply removed the visor of his helmet. However, it didn't matter, as the cold wind that blew in his face made Tony shiver, and he closed the helmet again without hesitation.

"Why is it so cold in the summer?! Jarvis, what's the temperature now?!"

"Sir, due to unknown meteorological reasons, today's temperature has dropped from 28 degrees at the peak to minus degrees."

Jarvis said quickly, "And the temperature is still dropping. The specific reason is unknown. According to the information from the weather satellite, there is no sign of any astronomical phenomenon for this drop in temperature. Perhaps it is due to the sudden change in temperature caused by special circumstances such as geomagnetism."

Just as Tony was about to continue asking something, Geralt shouted loudly on the other side: "Okay! Tony, don't just stand there! If you want to leave, leave quickly. If you don't want to leave, get ready for a fight! Ron, the Wild Hunt is here!"

"Yes, got it."

Squinting their eyes, Ron, Geralt and the others simultaneously looked up at the dark sky. Unable to understand what exactly caused this, Tony also raised his head. Then, he saw a terrifying scene.

Snowflakes flew in the dark night sky, accompanied by dull thunder. The dark clouds rolled by the storm were illuminated by lightning in an instant and then extinguished in an instant. In this constantly rolling lightning, Tony could clearly see one after another tall and pitch-black figures riding war horses, galloping in the cold sky.

No, they are not people! They are ghosts!
Tony couldn't help but squint his eyes. Through the image magnified by Jarvis, he could see that it was a group of ghost knights riding skeleton horses, wearing decayed armor and tattered cloaks.

Under the gray iron mask was pale skin, and the eyes were emitting empty ghost lights. Rather than being a living person, they looked more like a disgusting existence like a resurrected corpse. This parade across countless worlds brought countless evil breaths. The wind was mixed with screams and growls, the livestock were restless, the sky was thundering and lightning, and the wails of endless despair swept across the cold sky!

Suddenly, a group of cavalrymen tore through the clouds. It was a knight riding a tall skeleton warhorse. He was wearing heavy armor covered with white frost. He wore a skull-shaped helmet on his head, and his dark eye sockets emitted a cold light of murderous intent. Although he looked burly and held a big sword, the knight gave people the feeling that he did not have the slightest hope, but was filled with endless paranoia and hideous ecstasy.

Looking at Ciri, Eredin's voice resounded throughout the night sky. Even the violent snowstorm could not conceal the joy in his words:
"Son of the Ancient Bloodline! You belong to us! You are ours! Join us, join our hunt! We will ride on, towards doomsday, towards eternity, towards the end of existence! Innocent daughter of Chaos, you are ours! Join us, and enjoy the ecstasy of the hunt! You are ours. You are one of us! We are where you belong!!!"

As he spoke, Eredin raised the greatsword in his hand. Along with the galloping skeleton warhorse under his command, a flash of lightning struck the broadsword in Eredin's hand, illuminating the entire night sky. Then he just waved his hand casually, and then the streak of lightning passed through the top floor of the Stark Industrial Building like a long whip, and with a rumbling sound, all the matter touched by the lightning was shattered into dust and ashes!

"You're dreaming!"

With a cold snort, Ciri took a deep breath, and her eyes shone with a silver mystical energy. Without saying a word, Ciri traveled through time and space and came behind Eredin. The sword in her hand flashed with a cold light, and the runes attached to it surged out a dense stream of light that wrapped the entire sword. The moment it was swung, the atmosphere was cut apart. In the space torn apart by the ancient blood, the sword seemed to turn into fragments and chopped down from multiple angles at the same time, as if Eredin would be cut into pieces and his head and body would be separated in the next moment!

Seeing this, Eredin did not panic, but laughed happily:
"Not a bad idea! But Daughter of Space and Time! It's too late to master this technique now!!"

As he spoke, Eredin simply extended his hand, and then a gap suddenly appeared in the space. He sank into it, and before Ciri could come to his senses, he and his horse appeared behind Ciri. With a cold light in his eyes, he raised the Wild Hunt sword in his hand high. With one strike of the sword, the surging white frost covered his body. In the extreme cold, not to mention fighting, even breathing would make his nose feel cold and painful!
"I mastered the Gate of All Realms long before you were born! The Ancient Blood was so pathetic under your use, but it doesn't matter now. I will correct everything!"

A sword fell, but before Eredin could hit Ciri, after studying in Asgard, she systematically mastered the mysterious power in her body. With her energy concentrated, Ciri forcibly broke through the surrounding space blockade and jumped to Eredin's side.

Seizing the moment, Geralt also flew up with a long sword in hand. Without saying much, he raised his hand and cast an Igni Sign, which sprayed out a stream of blazing fire. Then the runes on the long sword shone, and along with the invisible force field formed by the secret energy, he raised the sword and mercilessly chopped towards his chest!
