The Case of Love

Chapter 113: Relentless Pursuit

Chapter 113: Relentless Pursuit
"Xiaoran, it's all your dad and I's fault. We tried every possible way to find you, but there was no news. After Xiaofeng graduated from the People's Public Security University, he went to the Beijing Public Security Bureau. Many of his classmates are policemen, and he has been asking his classmates to help find you. Whenever there is news that may be related to you, he will verify it. The last time, he went to W City and came back after seven days. He was full of hope when he went, but he was depressed for several days after he came back. If it weren't for Xiaofeng, Mom would have almost despaired. He said he would definitely find you and bring you to us! Xiaoran, Mom is so happy, you are finally back!" Liu Yuling burst into tears.

Over the years, she had been looking for her son, and she had been disappointed again and again. Now she finally had her son back. Their eyes reflected each other's image, familiar yet strange, igniting the long-lost warmth.

"Mom, I..." Zhou Yiran was in a complicated mood. After more than ten years, he could finally call her "Mom" again. But he couldn't stay too long and had to leave immediately.

He guessed that his younger brother Zhou Yifeng must have known his whereabouts and was on the way.

"What's wrong, Xiaoran?" Liu Yuling asked when she saw her eldest son hesitate to speak.

"Mom, where is my dad?" Zhou Yiran just wanted to see his father as soon as possible.

"He went out for a walk and should be back soon. I'll call him and ask him to buy groceries. Mom will make you something delicious." Liu Yuling went to get her phone and saw that it was a call from Zhou Yifeng. She had set her phone to vibrate mode before going to bed the night before and forgot to turn it back.

"Mom, don't let Dad buy groceries. Let Dad come back. I want to see him." Zhou Yiran was anxious.

"Xiaoran, are you in a hurry to leave?" Liu Yuling asked.

"I finally found you. I shouldn't leave in such a hurry, but I have something to do at my company. I'll be back after I finish it." Zhou Yiran said seriously.

"Xiaoran, why don't you wait a little longer? I'll call Xiaofeng and ask him to come back too!" Liu Yuling was a little puzzled that her eldest son didn't tell her that he wanted to see her younger son, but she didn't think much about it.

Zhou Yiran glanced at the time, stood up and said, "Mom, I won't wait any longer. It's too late. I have to catch a plane."

After saying that, he hugged his mother again. The warm and secure feeling made him want to stay.

When the mother and son were hugging, Zhou Yuntao came in from outside. He was very surprised. Why were the mother and son hugging each other? When he got closer, he found that his wife was not hugging Zhou Yifeng.

"Are you... Xiaoran?" he asked uncertainly.

Zhou Yiran turned his head and met Zhou Yuntao's gaze, and both father and son's eyes became moist.

"Are you really Xiaoran?" Zhou Yuntao confirmed with him.

"That's right, Yuntao, our Xiaoran is back!" Liu Yuling excitedly told her husband before Zhou Yiran could say anything.

"Xiaoran, you're back..." Zhou Yuntao cried with joy when he saw his long-awaited son return.

Zhou Yiran enjoyed the time of reuniting with his parents, but he had to leave immediately. Although it was painful to part again, it was better than being interrogated by his own brother. Moreover, he couldn't do anything to let his adoptive father down.

After thinking for a while, he said cruelly: "Dad, Mom, I'm really in a hurry today. I will find time to come back, and then we can have a good talk as a family!"

Seeing their son's anxious look, Zhou Yuntao and his wife did not try to keep him. After leaving their son's contact information, they sent him out.

At the gate of Fanhuali community, Zhou Yifeng explained the situation to the security guard at the gate, and Li Zhisong drove the car into the yard.

Through the car window, Zhou Yifeng saw the familiar yet strange person from afar. Almost at the same time, his cell phone rang. It was his mother calling.

Zhou Yifeng picked up the phone and pressed the speaker button.

"Xiaofeng, your brother is back!" As soon as the phone was connected, Liu Yuling told her youngest son the news.

"Did you see him?" Zhou Yifeng asked. "Yes, but he said he had something to do and was in a hurry to leave!"

While the mother and son were talking, Zhou Yifeng discovered that Zhou Yiran seemed to see them and turned around and ran away.

"Zhisong, he's in front, chase him!" Zhou Yifeng shouted to Li Zhisong without hanging up the phone.

After Zhou Yifeng finished speaking, Li Zhisong also found the target. However, driving further ahead was the square of the community, where a dozen elderly people were practicing Tai Chi. In order to avoid hurting innocent people, they had to get off the car.

Li Zhisong stopped the car, and the three of them got out and chased after the person.

Zhou Yifeng chased him while shouting, "Zhou Yiran, stop right there! You can't get away!"

On the other end of the phone, Liu Yuling heard her younger son calling her older son, and she was surprised and confused.

She was a smart woman, and she thought that since her younger son, a policeman, could talk to her older son like this, her older son must have committed a crime.

Considering that Zhou Yiran only said he wanted to see his father before leaving, but didn't say he wanted to see his brother, she suddenly understood.

Thinking that Zhou Yiran had not gone far, and that the two brothers might have met at this moment in the community courtyard, she quickly pushed the door open and went out.

She walked out of the courtyard and first looked towards the main gate. She saw Zhou Yifeng's SUV parked beside the corridor, then turned to look towards the square on the left.

This sight made her heart beat faster. Zhou Yifeng was running very fast, chasing after someone relentlessly.

On the other end of the phone, her youngest son's voice was both harsh and frightening: "Zhou Yiran, if you don't stop, I'll shoot!"

Liu Yuling didn't care about anything else. No matter what, he couldn't let his youngest son shoot his brother.

She ran towards the square desperately. At nearly sixty years old, she never thought she would have such explosive power.

"Xiaofeng, Xiaoran!" She ran and shouted, her voice hoarse.

Among Zhou Yifeng and the other two, Li Zhisong was running at the end. He heard Liu Yuling's shout first and stopped.

"Auntie, why are you here?" Li Zhisong asked.

"Zhisong, tell your aunt, has Yifeng's brother broken the law? Why did Yifeng want to arrest him?" Liu Yuling subconsciously grabbed Li Zhisong's arm and asked anxiously.

"Auntie, I'm not in a position to tell you about the case. You should go home first, and I'll let Captain Zhou explain it to you later." Li Zhisong was in a hurry to catch up with someone. He quickly spoke to Liu Yuling and continued running forward.

At another exit of the community, Zhou Yifeng and Su Xiaohan, master and apprentice, worked in perfect harmony, attacking from both sides, leaving Zhou Yiran with no way to escape.

"Brother, come with me! As long as you are willing to confess, there will be a chance to get lenient treatment!" Facing Zhou Yiran, Zhou Yifeng persuaded him again.

"Brother Yiran, our Captain Zhou has been looking for you for more than ten years. He once swore that he would never have a relationship or get married until he found you. You two brothers have finally reunited, can you bear to leave?" Su Xiaohan guessed that Zhou Yiran still had a conscience and wanted to use family affection to win him back.

The corners of Zhou Yiran's lips twitched, as if he was about to say something.

"Brother, I'll give you some time to think about it."
