Chapter 31 Pagoda Temple
The bright moon hangs high in the sky, like a silver disk suspended in the night sky, its light is soft and bright.
The door of the Ye family was open, and Ye Ran sat on the swing in the yard, looking at the stars. Wrapped in the tranquility of the night, feeling the baptism of the starlight.

The sound of high heels came from far away.

A person in a black dress walked into the Ye family mansion.

"Luo Jia!"

Seeing who was coming, Ye Ran jumped off the rocking chair excitedly.

She hurried over, took Luo Jia's hand and asked happily, "Why are you here?"

Luo Jia looked at Ye Ran and praised her, "I know you've finished recording your variety show, so I took the time to come and see you. You did well on the variety show, it was great."

Ye Ran smiled as she looked at Luo Jia's outfit. She said, "You are dressed very beautifully and formally today. But why is your hair so black?"

Luo Jia's eyes showed fatigue. She said, "Well, I've been attending meetings all the time recently, so it's inconvenient for Red Hair."

Luo Jia tugged at her skirt again and said, "This is so hard to wear. I just came down from a party and I have no choice but to wear this."

Ye Ran looked at Luo Jia with some distress in her eyes. She was very different from the red-haired girl he met at the beginning. She seemed to have transformed overnight.

Suddenly Ye Ran's expression changed, and she reached out to Luo Jia's chest.

Before Luo Jia could cover his chest, Ye Ran took out a triangular talisman paper.

Luo Jia patted Ye Ran's hand. She laughed and complained, "I don't know that people still think you are a hooligan."

Ye Ran did not joke with her but asked seriously: "Who gave this to you?"

Luo Jia looked at the yellow embroidery wrapped in PV material and said, "No one gave it to me, so I went to...well, the temple nearby to ask for it. They said it was very effective. I went to ask for a fortune charm. I have been training at Luo's company recently, hoping to get rich and win big orders."

Ye Ran looked at the value of -20 on the talisman paper and warned, "Don't carry this thing with you in the future. It's not good."

The Luo family didn't care: "What's the big deal about an embroidery?"

Ye Ran glared at Luo Jia with a serious expression.

"Okay, I'll listen to you."

Ye Ran looked at the talisman paper and murmured, "I seem to have seen something like this a while ago."

"It's normal, right? This temple is a popular temple in the city called Pagoda Temple. Many people go here."

Ye Ran bit her lip and recalled, and suddenly she thought of it: "I remember it was at your birthday party."

Luo Jia raised his eyebrows: "Hmm?"

"Well, my sister's good friend's name is...Wu something, and she seems to have something from that temple on her."

Luo Jia pondered for a moment and asked, "Wu? Wu Jingyu?"

Ye Ran nodded: "It seems to be this name, do you know it?"

Luo Jia nodded and shook her head: "I can't say I know her. This circle is not big or small. I have heard about her. She found a boyfriend who has no strengths. I don't know why she insisted on being with him. It made her family angry."

"That thing she brought is not good for her health. I told her about it at the birthday party last time, but she didn't seem to listen."

Luo Jia looked at Ye Ran, who had a worried look in her eyes. She patted Ye Ran's head and said, "You've already advised her, but she didn't listen. What are you still worried about? She didn't give you any money, and you don't owe her any favors. Why are you thinking about her?"

Ye Ran gave Luo Jia a thumbs up and said with a smile, "You know how to comfort people."

"By the way, do you have time recently? Come with me to visit the temple you mentioned."

"Well, tomorrow morning?"

"Row"

Luo Jia and Ye Ran sat on the swing together, Luo Jia put his arm around Ye Ran's shoulders and leaned his head on her. Ye Ran patted Luo Jia's hand. Luo Jia had been working very hard and was very tired recently.

Mr. Li came out with two cups of tea and handed them to the two girls: "Drink some water."

When Luo Jia saw Mr. Li, she immediately stood up and greeted him respectfully.

Mr. Li waved his hand and said, "You're welcome. You guys continue chatting. I'll be leaving soon."

Luo Jia took the cup and drank half of it. She asked, "Why is Mr. Li at your house?"

"Want to take me as a disciple"

Seeing Luo Jia's eyes, Ye Ran immediately said, "Wait a minute, stop. Don't persuade me anymore. I've been persuaded for a long time today."

Luo Jia did not persuade him any further: "Okay, you are a man of your own ideas and abilities, you can do it yourself."

Luo Jia drank the remaining half cup of tea. After drinking a cup of tea, Luo Jia actually felt that all his fatigue of the day had dissipated.

"Mr. Li is worthy of being Mr. Li. After drinking this tea, I feel refreshed."

Ye Ran stared at the tea that had almost no value. The corner of her mouth twitched: "Your idol filter is too heavy."

"Rough man, I'm talking about you."

Call yourself a rude person?
Ye Ran took the cup and sipped it carefully, but still couldn't taste anything.

The two chatted for a while, and then Luo Jia drove home.

Ye Ran thought she would have a little insomnia today, but unexpectedly she slept very well.

Ye Ran was woken up by the alarm clock in the morning. He opened the curtains and saw Mr. Li and Bai Sheng practicing the Five Animal Exercises downstairs.

Mr. Li's movements were smooth and flowing, like a hermit.

Ye Ran washed up and went downstairs to eat, while Li Lao and the other two also finished their practice.

Mr. Li smiled and asked, "You should have had a good sleep last night, right?"

Ye Ran tilted her head and asked curiously, "Hmm? How did you know?"

Mr. Li smiled and explained, "What you drank last night was not tea, but water soaked with several Chinese herbs, which has a sleeping effect."

"Chinese medicine? Sleeping aid?"

Mr. Li nodded and took the opportunity to impart Chinese medicine knowledge to Ye Ran: "Yes, herbs like berberine, spinach seeds, schisandra chinensis, wolfberry, calamus, and poria all have the effect of treating insomnia, and they have different effects. For example, sour almonds have a certain effect on improving symptoms such as difficulty falling asleep and dreaming."

Ye Ran was really interested, she asked: "Sour almonds? Are they the almonds we usually eat?"

Mr. Li shook his head and explained, "There are two types of apricot kernels - sweet almonds and bitter almonds. The sweet ones are for food, and the bitter ones are for medicinal use. Sour almonds are specially processed bitter almonds, not ordinary edible almonds. The Compendium of Materia Medica records that they are "sweet, bitter, warm, cold, and slightly toxic." They can moisten the lungs, relieve coughs, disperse wind, eliminate accumulation, and promote bowel movements. They enter the Taiyin Lung Meridian."

Ye Ran opened his mouth slightly. He didn't expect that food could be used as medicine. This was quite interesting.

Seeing Ye Ran's interest, Mr. Li took the opportunity to ask, "Are you interested in this? I have a book that specifically records the medicinal uses of food. Let me show it to you."

Ye Ran paused and convinced herself in her heart.

Just reading a book does not count as learning Chinese medicine.

"Okay, I want to see it."

Mr. Li's eyes lit up, and he said cheerfully, "Okay, I'll go find it for you now!"
