Chapter 35: Sick? Denying the responsibility?

Chu Jingyan opened the bag he was holding, took out the medicine inside, and sorted it out. "Now you can take it again."

Meng Qingyi sat up and leaned against the head of the bed, took the medicine, and Chu Jingyan hurriedly handed her the cup of water, and she swallowed it in one gulp.

After taking the medicine, Chu Jingyan helped her lie down and considerately covered her with the quilt again.

Afterwards, Chu Jingyan had no intention of leaving. Instead, he pulled over a chair and sat down calmly beside the bed.

Meng Qingyi bulged her eyes, "You"

"Don't talk, go to sleep."

Before Meng Qingyi could finish her words, she was interrupted by Chu Jingyan.

"Don't worry, I won't leave. I'll stay here with you."

"I"

“Go to sleep!”

Before she could finish her words, she was still choked back by Chu Jingyan.

Perhaps it was the experience he gained from coaxing Chu Yan, his hand was still on the quilt, patting it gently.

Meng Qingyi grasped the bed sheet tightly. Did he treat her like a child? How could she sleep with him staring at her like this?

She raised her eyes and met his. She said softly, "Close your eyes."

Chu Jingyan's tone was firm and did not allow for rebuttal.

Seeing that he was determined to give up, Meng Qingyi closed her eyes, but her trembling eyelashes revealed her nervousness at the moment.

Perhaps the medicine she had just taken took effect, and she fell asleep unknowingly.

Chu Jingyan looked at her sleeping face, leaned close to her, and chuckled, "Silly girl, you trust me too much, don't you?"

He reached out his hand again to feel the temperature of her forehead, and it was not as hot as before.

He bent down, gave her a gentle kiss on the forehead, tucked in the quilt, and walked out of the bedroom.

In a trance, Meng Qingyi heard a crackling sound and woke up from her dizziness.

The setting sun shines in through the window, adding some dusk and making the whole bedroom warm.

She threw back the quilt, put on her coat, and walked out of the bedroom with her mind still a little confused.

When she saw the person standing in the kitchen, the afterglow of the setting sun shone on him, and his whole body was emitting a dazzling light.

He put his phone aside and put it on speakerphone, "Grandma, what's the next step after adding the salt?"

The old lady's voice sounded, "Stir it and wait until it boils again."

"That's it for now, grandma. Goodbye."

She stared at Chu Jingyan's busy figure in front of the stove, her eyes moving and the corners of her lips curled up involuntarily.

Chu Jingyan turned around unexpectedly, met her gaze, and lowered his voice, "Awake?"

"The porridge will be ready soon, please sit for a while."

Meng Qingyi nodded, walked obediently to the dining table, sat down, and pulled her coat closer.

About two minutes later, Chu Jingyan turned off the fire and served out the vegetable and lean meat porridge he had cooked.

He chopped the vegetables and lean meat very finely and added the seasonings according to the amount the old lady said. It should be okay.

He scooped a small bowl and placed it in front of her.

He waved his hand, "Be careful, it's hot."

Meng Qingyi picked up the spoon, scooped a spoonful, put it to her lips and blew gently, then fed it into her mouth.

"Is it tasted okay?" Chu Jingyan's eyes sparkled as he looked down upon her, afraid that she would say something that it was not tasty.

Meng Qingyi nodded and drank the porridge slowly. His cooking skills were not as weird as Chu Yan said.

Chu Jingyan sat opposite her, playing with his fingers, his eyes fixed on her, and chuckled, "That's good."

After a few minutes, she took the last sip and put the spoon down.

"Do you want more?" She shook her head. It seemed that she had just been sick and had a poor appetite.

She was about to get up and take the bowl back to the kitchen, but Chu Jingyan took the bowl and walked into the kitchen before her.

After a while, he came out with another bowl of porridge, sat opposite her again, and started drinking the porridge.

Meng Qingyi frowned. Why didn't he change the bowl? He just used the one she had used. He wasn't afraid of getting infected.

"Why don't you?"

"What did you say?" Chu Jingyan raised his head, with a grain of rice on the corner of his mouth.

She thought about it and decided that speaking out would only add to the embarrassment, so she decided to keep quiet.

"nothing."

"If you're still tired, go back to bed and lie down. I'll clean up the kitchen."

That being said, why would Meng Qingyi leave him here alone?

"It's okay. I've had enough sleep. It's good to move around a bit."

He finished his porridge in just two or three minutes, then stood up and walked towards the kitchen.

Meng Qingyi followed him to the kitchen, but when she saw the mess in the kitchen, her pretty eyebrows knitted tightly. Was he fighting in the kitchen? It was a mess.

"Go sit in the living room. You're not needed here."

Before she even stepped into the kitchen, she was driven out by Chu Jingyan, "But, can you do it alone?"

Chu Jingyan smiled with his lips curled, and said something ambiguous, "You'll know whether it works or not later."

After saying that, he pushed Meng Qingyi to sit on the sofa, and went back to the kitchen to start the huge project of the night.

Half an hour later
The crackling sounds in the kitchen finally stopped. Meng Qingyi wanted to go forward several times to check what he was doing in there, but she held back.

Anyway, if the old doesn’t go, the new won’t come.

Chu Jingyan came out and saw her curled up on the sofa, half asleep and half awake.

"Yiyi?" Chu Jingyan squatted down and looked at her at eye level.

"Hmm." She groaned, regained consciousness and opened her eyes.

Chu Jingyan was staring at her, "Yiyi, why don't you call me second brother anymore?"

Meng Qingyi put her hands under her cheeks, which turned red from being pressed, and choked her neck, "I don't know what you are talking about, Mr. Chu."

She is a patient now, and Chu Jingyan probably wouldn't dare to do anything to her. It is because of this that she dared to say this.

"Yiyi, do you want to deny it?"

"What are you talking about? I don't know, Mr. Chu."

Meng Qingyi dragged out the last two words for a very long time, with a smile in the corners of her eyes. She had always been humiliated in front of Chu Jingyan, and now she had to let him have a taste of this.

Chu Jingyan frowned and laughed dryly, "Yiyi, do you think I can't touch you just because you are a patient?"

Meng Qingyi didn't say anything, but the expression on her face clearly said, this is what I think, what can you do to me.

He loosened his tie, unbuttoned his shirt cuffs, and tilted his head to glance out the window.

He suddenly grabbed Meng Qingyi's hand, attached his whole body to her, lifted her hand above her head and held it in place.

Meng Qingyi was stunned, her face flushed red, and after a few seconds her whole body began to struggle, "Chu Jingyan, let me go."

"Don't move." Chu Jingyan's voice was deep. He grabbed her hand and put a little more force so as not to hurt her.

She looked dazed and lowered her head to look down. She clearly felt something pressing against her.

She was a doctor, so she naturally knew what this meant. Her face flushed, "Chu Jingyan, let me go first, and let's talk."

"Okay, now you don't even call me Mr. Chu anymore, you start calling me by my name."

Chu Jingyan lowered his body again, staring at her straight, with stars twinkling in his eyes.
