Chapter 4: First time alone

Meng Qingyi looked at the hand that was withdrawn in mid-air and smiled bitterly, "What's wrong?"

"Doctor Meng, there is something on your face. I just wanted to help you." Chu Jingyan said gentlemanly in a lazy voice.

Meng Qingyi laughed to hide her inner embarrassment. Are we very familiar with each other? Is he so enthusiastic towards strangers?
She gathered her scattered hair and said, "Thank you, I can do it myself."

She pretended to be calm and searched for a mirror on the table, but couldn't find it. Wasn't there a mirror here originally? She was speechless.

The same thing happened with her cell phone. She reluctantly took the phone to shine, and after looking for a while, she didn't find anything on her face. Could this man be lying to her?

Meng Qingyi glanced at him with suspicion. Chu Jingyan still kept his eyes fixed on her, his eyes slightly narrowed, and a low laugh escaped him.

She was about to get up and go to the bathroom, but out of the corner of her eye she saw his hand reaching out to her.

"I'll help you." His voice was unquestionable. Meng Qingyi sat stiffly in the chair.

She let his hand gently brush across her cheek, his fingertips stroking it, and a touch of warmth passed through her skin and reached deep into her heart.

There was a table between them. He bent slightly and brought his handsome face in front of her. His gentle breath fanned her face. Meng Qingyi's heartbeat was like thunder, as if a stone was thrown into a calm lake, causing ripples.

"Okay." As he spoke, he had already stood up and leaned back in his chair lazily.

"Thank you." Meng Qingyi's hand gently stroked the place where he had just brushed past, and it was quietly stained with a crimson blush.

It made the other person's heart tremble. It was so soft, it must be very nice to touch.

Putting away the turmoil in her heart, Meng Qingyi flipped through Chu Yan's medical report, which had been sent to her office last night. "Mr. Chu, there's nothing wrong with Chu Yan's medical report. It's just some superficial injuries. It will heal after a while."

"During this period, avoid letting the wound come into contact with water." Meng Qingyi instructed, concentrating on the report.

Chu Jingyan looked at her focused expression and said with a smile, "Thank you, Doctor Meng."

Meng Qingyi was flipping through the records and accidentally turned to the part where the family members signed, and saw the name - Chu Jingyan.

She was slightly surprised and looked up at the person opposite her. When she saw him yesterday, she inexplicably felt that he was familiar and understood. No wonder.

Her best friend is his die-hard fan and keeps repeating his name in her ear, which annoys her so much that she was dragged by her best friend to watch the only movie he starred in not long ago.

If her best friend knew that she had met Chu Jingyan but didn't get his autograph for her, wouldn't she be scolding her to death?

But how could she open her mouth? Chu Jingyan glared at her, watching her raise her head and glance at him from time to time.

The corners of his lips curled up, and he lowered his eyebrows and smiled, "Doctor Meng, is there anything wrong?"

"Ah?" Meng Qingyi raised her head, her eyes were cold and her face was a little embarrassed.

"I noticed you staring at me from time to time. Is there something on my face?" Chu Jingyan teased.

Meng Qingyi shook her head, smiled bitterly, and raised her eyebrows slightly, "Mr. Chu, can I trouble you for something?"

Chu Jingyan was suddenly stunned, gently stroked the fingers that had just brushed her cheek, and smiled, "You say." "My friend is your fan, can you sign an autograph for him?" Meng Qingyi's heart was beating fast, she also felt that her request was too presumptuous, and wondered if Chu Jingyan could agree.

"If it's inconvenient, forget it." Meng Qingyi raised her eyebrows and glanced at him, her tone polite and cautious.

Hearing this, Chu Jingyan glanced at her and smiled with some interest, "Okay, where do I sign?"

When Meng Qingyi saw that he agreed, she suddenly remembered that her best friend had come to her office not long ago and gave her authentic peripheral products of the movie, which included a solo photo of him.

Meng Qingyi opened the drawer under the table and found that it was still there.

She giggled and glanced at it casually when she received it, then put it in the bottom of the box. She didn't expect it would come in handy today. This is what they call borrowing flowers to offer to Buddha.

She took out the stills and placed them in front of him, glaring at him with a curled lip, "Sign here."

Chu Jingyan looked at her movements, the corners of his mouth curled up, "I didn't expect that Dr. Meng also likes me and even has my old stills."

Wen Yin was shocked when she heard these ambiguous words. She was afraid that Chu Jingyan would misunderstand her, so she explained, "No, it was given to me by my best friend. I just watched a movie you acted in and thought you acted very well."

Looking at Chu Jingyan's expression, it was obvious that he didn't believe it, so she continued, "Don't get me wrong, I don't like you, I just admire you."

Chu Jingyan looked teasing, and seeing her eager to explain, he smiled and said, "Just admiring?"

After saying that, Chu Jingyan stopped teasing her, picked up the pen on the table, signed his name with a graceful and smooth movement, and handed it over.

Meng Qingyi picked it up and took a look. The handwriting was vigorous and powerful, written in one stroke, just like him, with extraordinary bearing.

She reached out to take it and nodded politely, "Thank you."

"If you want to say thank you, why don't you do me a small favor, Dr. Meng?" Chu Jingyan's posture was relaxed, and his tone was polite and courteous, so as not to offend others.

Meng Qingyi thought that she had just troubled him, and if she refused now, it would seem like she was destroying the bridge after crossing the river. Besides, what could she, a small doctor, do to help him? It shouldn't be a big problem.

"If there is anything I can help with, please feel free to ask, Mr. Chu." Meng Qingyi nodded in agreement.

"I haven't figured out what I need Doctor Meng to help me with yet. I'll come back to Doctor Meng when I think of it." After Chu Jingyan said this, he said goodbye, then got up and left.

Meng Qingyi was stunned. She had never seen anyone ask others for help and make reservations in advance. Little did she know that when she was asked to help later, she was a hundred, a thousand times unwilling. But that was a story for later.
VIP Ward
Chu Yan was sleepy, with a small tuft of his slightly curly hair standing up and swaying after a night of sleep. He lowered his head to eat breakfast, pushed the green vegetables in the porridge aside, and ate them in small bites.

Jiang Lin stood aside and urged him, "Young Master, the Second Master said that eating more vegetables is good for your health."

"Uncle Lin, dad is not here now. If you don't tell me and I don't tell him, dad won't know." Chu Yan still did her own thing and acted coquettishly towards Jiang Lin.

Chu Yan was startled by the sound of the door opening. He quickly put the vegetables aside into his mouth. With an ugly expression, he chewed reluctantly and sighed in his heart, "It tastes terrible."

When Chu Jingyan walked in, he saw Chu Yan's hair sticking up on top of his head, shaking, and his little mouth opening and closing as if he was swallowing poison.

This kid is getting more and more naughty as he grows up. He is no longer as cute as he was when he was little. Chu Yan didn't know what Chu Jingyan was thinking, and he muttered something. Jiang Lin, who was standing by, almost laughed out loud when he heard it.

He bit his lip to suppress his smile.
