Chapter 89 Entering the Chu Family
next day
Meng Qingyi moved in Chu Jingyan's arms, her eyelashes trembled slightly, and her sleepy eyes suddenly opened.

"Awake?" Chu Jingyan rubbed her soft hair, his voice hoarse.

Meng Qingyi's cheeks flushed and she agreed in a low voice.

Chu Jingyan smiled and kissed her on the forehead, "Then get up."

When the two of them went downstairs, Uncle Zhang was already preparing breakfast in the kitchen, and the old lady was watering the garden outside.

Meng Qingyi looked around but didn't see Chu Yan, so she asked, "Uncle Zhang, where's Chu Chu?"

"Chu Chu is still lying in bed?" Uncle Zhang said.

"I'll call him."

Meng Qingyi struggled free from Chu Jingyan's hand that was hooked around her waist and ran upstairs.

After Meng Qingyi went upstairs, Chu Jingyan sat in the living room, drinking tea and reading the newspaper. After a while, the old lady also came in.

"Where are Yi Yi and Chu Chu?" asked the old lady.

"Chu Chu hasn't gotten up yet, Yi Yi went up to call him."

The old lady responded calmly, sat down at the head of the sofa, glanced at him, and asked, "What are your plans?"

Chu Jingyan put down the newspaper in his hand, a little confused, "What?"

The old lady glanced at him unhappily, "What are you and Yiyi planning?"

"How about making an appointment with both sets of parents to meet some other day to discuss your marriage?"

Chu Jingyan frowned slightly. She had already met her grandmother, but she didn't know what her family thought of him.

But the two of them just confirmed their relationship yesterday. Wouldn’t it be a bit hasty to ask them to meet their parents now?
He really wants to marry her as soon as possible, but he doesn't know what she thinks?
"I'll talk to Yiyi some other day." Chu Jingyan said.

Just then, a servant came in.

"Madam, someone claiming to be the young lady's grandmother and parents is here."

The old lady was full of surprise, "Really?"

"Yes, it was Madam Wei Qing who brought him here." the servant replied.

When Chu Jingyan heard this, his face turned gloomy. It was really a shitty plaster that couldn't be gotten rid of.

He and the old lady exchanged a glance. Seeing his unhappy expression, the old lady had some doubts in her heart, but still said, "Please let them in."

After the servant left, the old lady looked at Chu Jingyan, "What's going on?"

"Grandma, you will know soon." Chu Jingyan kept it a secret.

The Jiang family was waiting outside the Chu family's old house. Jiang Minglang exclaimed, "As expected of a family that has stood for a hundred years in Beijing. The building is really magnificent."

Gu Weiqing glanced at him with disdain and said coldly, "Of course."

"If Elder Chu hadn't died early, the Chu family would have been able to move to a higher level."

"Wei Qing, I heard that Mr. Chu could go up, so why did he come down?" asked Mrs. Jiang.

"My cousin is a friend of Mr. Chu. I also heard from him that Mr. Chu was in poor health, but none of their descendants were in politics, so they helped the Fu family take over."

The cousin that Gu Weiqing mentioned is Gu Nanjue’s father—Gu Zheng.

"With the support from above, the Chu family was able to escape death five years ago," said Gu Weiqing.

Gu Weiqing glanced at everyone meaningfully, and then said, "Anyway, Wanwan is now married into the Chu family, which is a hundred benefits for us and no harm at all."

"Auntie, but my sister seems unwilling to get close to us?" Jiang Zhilan walked forward and took Gu Weiqing's arm.

Gu Weiqing patted her hands, "You are a family after all. Even if your bones are broken, your tendons are still connected."

"Everyone, please come in." Before Gu Weiqing finished speaking, the servant opened the door.

Everyone followed the servants and walked all the way. The further they went in, the more hatred Jiang Zhilan looked at this luxurious and low-key building. She had finally managed to snatch Gu Huainian away, so why should she, Jiang Zhiwan, marry such a good man?
She didn't have to come today, she just wanted to come and see the scene where Jiang Zhiwan would be humiliated.

A few minutes later, a group of people entered the living room.

The old lady looked at the group of people who came in, her eyes becoming deeper.

As soon as the Jiang family members entered the house, they saw Chu Jingyan. Jiang Minglang muttered, "Why is he here today?"

Gu Weiqing didn’t know what happened when Jiang Minglang met Chu Jingyan yesterday. She just thought that he came to visit Old Madam Chu.

Gu Weiqing gouged out his eyes. Isn't this nonsense? This is Chu Jingyan's house. Can't he be here?

If Jiang Zhilan wasn't outstanding in all aspects, she would look down on Jiang Minglang. Being his relative would really lower her status.

Chu Jingyan looked at the huge crowd, the corners of his mouth curled up, are they here to force the emperor to abdicate?
"Aunt Wen."

"Jingyan."

It was Gu Weiqing who spoke first and broke the deadlock.

Mrs. Chu then looked at everyone and said politely, "Please sit down."

The few people looked at each other, and then Old Lady Jiang sat opposite Old Lady Chu, while the others chose to sit down at nearby seats.

"Please, have some tea." After the servant brought the tea, he left.

However, the servant sighed inwardly that the young lady had so many family members and judging from their appearance, they didn't seem easy to get along with.

"Auntie, where is Wanwan?" Gu Weiqing asked.

Old Madam Chu frowned. Wanwan? Who is she talking about?

She looked at Chu Jingyan, hoping he could explain. Could it be that he had other women outside? That shouldn't be the case. She knew her grandson well. He was not a philandering scumbag.

Unexpectedly, Chu Jingyan just blinked and didn't say anything.

The old lady had no choice but to look at Gu Weiqing and ask, "Who is Wanwan?"

Everyone was dumbfounded. Could it be that the old lady didn’t know that her grandson was already married?
They all forgot that Meng Qingyi said that her name was not Jiang Zhiwan.

Gu Weiqing's expression froze, and he stammered, "Wanwan is Jingyan's wife."

The old lady was confused. She knew that Chu Jingyan and Meng Qingyi pretended to be a couple to go on the show, but she didn't know who Wanwan was?

Could it be Meng Qingyi’s nickname?
Chu Jingyan looked at the farce in front of him coldly and sneered, "Sister Qing, why didn't I know my wife's name is Wanwan?"

When these words came out, everyone was stunned. "You are not..." Gu Weiqing was unable to recover for a moment and stammered.

"Auntie, my sister changed her name. She seems to be called Meng Qingyi now." Jiang Zhilan whispered in Gu Weiqing's ear.

"Look at my brain, I forgot to change Wanwan's name."

"Yes, it's Yiyi."

The old lady finally understood, and a hint of mischief flashed in her eyes, "Yi Yi, she's upstairs."

Upon hearing this, everyone in the Jiang family had different expressions on their faces. They had originally been looking for the Chu family without Meng Qingyi's knowledge, and they never expected to meet her.

Gu Weiqing didn't know about this, so he introduced them to the old lady one by one, "Auntie, this is Yiyi's grandmother, Qiao Yudi."

"My father is Jiang Minglang, my mother is Ding Qingxiu, and my sister is Jiang Zhilan."

The old lady listened to this lengthy introduction with an unchanged expression on her face, but she had something in mind: Why did Meng Qingyi change her name?
