Chapter 8 Author's Notes Review of Chapters to
Chapter 1: The Line of Genetic Mutation
This chapter is divided into two parts according to chronological order.
Part 2020, April 4, 30, mainly writes about two things.
The first thing happened during class.
There are three key words: "gene mutation", "source", and "fear". "Gene mutation" is used to introduce the "source". "Fear" is what Mu Zhengguang felt when facing the "source".
The second incident happened after school.
There is a sentence in this chapter, "My dear friend with the same ideals as me, I am finally going to see you again." Mu Zhengguang regards Xu Yingze as a close friend with the same ideals as me, which is absolutely justified.
The first basis is, "He was curious and wanted to know the name of this pig bone. He told this question to classmate Ying, and the classmate asked his aunt about his question. The aunt said that it was a pig inch bone." If the relationship between the two was not good, Mu Zhengguang would not ask this question, and Xu Ying would not relay his question.
The question about the number of cats can also prove this point. Figure 5-4 How many cats are there? This question cannot be asked to everyone. If you ask an irrelevant person, not only will you not get an accurate answer, you may even be laughed at. Xu Ying asked Mu Zhengguang this question. Both of them regarded each other as close friends.
The note is not about friendship, but about what Xu Yingze calls intuition and tacit understanding. Intuition is relatively abstract, so I won’t talk about it here. I will mainly talk about tacit understanding. Original text: “Tacit understanding” is simple to say, but it is based on understanding each other.
Part 2020, May 5, 5, mainly writes about four things.
"On the day side of the planet, at dawn... even the light from street lamps and flashlights disappeared," "The mysterious darkness makes the direction of life increasingly bizarre... Lasting for ten or twenty days, it will bring about a catastrophe." These five paragraphs are narration, indicating the scope and effect of "darkness."
The first thing is the exploration of darkness.
After Mu Zhengguang woke up, the first thing he felt was that it was getting dark. Then he did five things: turn on his phone, turn on the light, turn on the desk lamp, draw the curtains, and make a phone call.
If you can't see the light, it may be because there is no light in the world, or it may be because there is something wrong with your eyes. But if there is no sound when you dial the phone, it proves that there is something wrong with the phone.
After doing all these things, the conclusion is, "Mobile phones, electric lights, desk lamps, the world, are not normal, but eyes should be normal." Although it is far-fetched, it is relatively easy to accept.
The second thing is to write in the dark.
Here is the original text first: The crooked words lying randomly and scattered on the paper convey the most serious message and the deepest feelings. Those sentences sound like farewells, prayers, eulogies, and wishes.
Next, find the evidence from the original text to see why these words are lying randomly on the paper and why these sentences are like a farewell...
"Holding a pen and writing in the dark, thinking and recalling in fear, all consumes too much energy," which explains why the text is crooked.
"Write down the names of people he thinks are important on a piece of draft paper, and below the names are farewell words, and in the words, there are many past events." If the "darkness" never fades away, and people feel that their lives are coming to an end, can the farewell words written at this time be regarded as a farewell? Are the many past events written at this time like eulogies written to oneself?
As for why it is "like praying", it is easier to understand. In such a dangerous moment and in such an extreme environment, where will people place their hopes?
There is no need to say more about “like making a wish”. At the last moment of your life, you can write down your blessings to others and your regrets. These contents can be “like making a wish”.
The text is written very simply, with only twelve words, "like a farewell, like a prayer, like a eulogy, like a wish", but these twelve words did not appear for no reason, nor were they written randomly by the author just to meet the word count or format.
Although the article does not directly state what Mu Zhengguang wrote on the paper, it indirectly states it, which brings us to the third thing.
The third thing is that Mu Zhengguang and Xu Ying meet.
The occurrence of this incident and the subsequent conversation between the two can prove that the two are like-minded friends. Since it has been proved before, I will not repeat it here.
"Have you also made a summary of your life?" "Our wishes can come true", two sentences, one was asked by Xu Yingze, and the other was written. Mu Zhengguang's answer was, "Yes and thank you." "Summarizing life" corresponds to farewell and eulogy, and "wishes can come true" corresponds to prayer and wishing.
The fourth thing is that Mu Zhengguang and Xu Ying went to school together.
Don't forget the protagonist's identity, a high school student. School uniforms, campus, school hours, school dismissal times, seating arrangements, academic performance, and study attitude are all written in this chapter.
These are not the main points. The main point is the people who can communicate with animals. The far-reaching impact of "darkness" starts from here.
------------
Chapter 2: Stars Sneak Into the World
This chapter is divided into two parts, what the Star Lord said and did and what the protagonist said and did.
The things done by the star lord described in the article are, from the beginning to the end, wonders, palaces, appearances, declarations, heavenly fire, seizure of power, statements, networking, return, and long journeys.
The focus is on "declaration" and "networking". The basic settings of ancient asymptotes, asymptotes, asymptotic domains, domain radius, first order, recovery stage, and asymptote entities are all written in detail in the text. The most important ones are the ancient asymptotes, domain radius, and asymptote entities.
This chapter mentioned two asymptote entities, candles and brushes, which brings us to the second part of this chapter.
"The flame continues to burn, and the height and mass of the candle remain almost unchanged." "Lu Hao held the paintbrush in reverse and drew a line on the test paper with one end of the pen, and an indescribable brilliance appeared on the paper." Both of these can prove that asymptotic entities are different from original objects in nature.
Starting from this chapter, the protagonist has a deeper exploration of the nature and origin of asymptotes.
"The power that comes from the heart", "The asymptote is connected to the heart and sounds fair and just". In order to explain "coming from the heart", "fair and just", or "not connected to the heart", "unfair and unjust", many things will be written and many chapters will be used.
Finally, I would like to add two small details. One is what the Lord of Mountains, Rivers and Seas does, such as holding meetings, wandering around and looking for people. The other is the birthdays of the two protagonists, July 7 and August 12.
------------
Chapter 3: The Line of Equalization
This chapter is divided into two parts, the first part is September 9st and the second part is October 1th.
The first part mainly includes three things: notification, discussion and peers.
Dong Chuang informed the students who signed up for the competition, "The modeling competition is more about physical combat, while the innovation and entrepreneurship competition is more about brain competition. Both the modeling competition and the entrepreneurship competition will have extra points for the college entrance examination and cash rewards."
Here’s a small detail: “As a large number of students became adopters, the school lifted the ban on mobile phones.”
Discussion between Mu Zhengguang and Lu Hao.
The discussion mentioned first-order asymptotic rates, seven intervals, and seven levels.
The seven levels are ancient, medieval, modern, transitional, modern, contemporary, and contemporary. The first four are easy to remember, but the last three are easy to confuse. As an aside, the term "modern history" shows that modern times are more distant than modern times.
The proportion of contemporary asymptotes in the population is 93.09684%.
Mu Zhengguang and Xu Ying were traveling together. While traveling together, Xu Ying persuaded Mu Zhengguang to participate in the competition.
In this chapter, the relationship and personalities of the two people are described in more depth.
Compared to Mu Zhengguang, Xu Ying thinks about things more comprehensively, is more vigilant, is easier to stay calm, and is more perceptive.
Mu Zhengguang is more conventional than Xu Yingze. In comparison, Xu Yingze is more creative. There are two sentences in the first chapter: "Long time no see" and "The first class has already started, but they haven't come yet. It seems that there is no class this morning, let's go back." Mu Zhengguang does not completely agree with these two sentences.
In this chapter, Xu Yingze skipped classes, decided to participate in the competition, and mentioned the asymptotic rate when they first met. Mu Zhengguang did not skip classes, he did not plan to participate in the competition at first, and he did not mention the asymptotic rate when they first met.
The second part, October 10th, also has three things: getting clues, meeting, and secret talks.
The first thing is to get clues. Retrieve the two foreshadowings of "Source" and "Past" in the first chapter.
The second thing is meeting. The asymptotic entities of Mu Zhengguang and Xu Yingze are the golden hourglass and the purple windmill respectively.
The third thing is secret talks.
The asymptotes of Mu Zhengguang and Xu Yingze are existence force and operation force respectively, and their first-order asymptotic rates are both 212 days. They can both use countdowns, Mu Zhengguang's countdown is 60 minutes, and Xu Yingze's countdown is 48 minutes.
Both of them are Medieval. Since it is written in Chapter 1 that Medieval people account for 96674/15000, it is not a spoiler to mention it here in advance. Multiply this ratio by the total population of the country, and it is less than .
------------
Chapter 4: Prologue to the Battle of Existence
This chapter is divided into three parts.
Part 1: What the Star Lord did. "Things went according to the Star Lord's idea," "All the people involved in this matter were sent to the plateau where soil erosion was serious," "It seemed that they had all evaporated," and "The competition date was postponed for one month."
Part 2, discussion between Mu Zhengguang and Lu Hao.
The previous chapter mentioned that the competition rewards include extra points for the college entrance examination. This chapter details the calculation rules for the extra points.
"Win 14 games and advance to the finals" was the goal set by Mu Zhengguang. Considering the strength of the Medieval, this goal was low. In other words, the goal set by Mu Zhengguang was within his ability.
Add a few details.
The first detail: By mid-October, after enduring the non-existent "recovery phase", Mu Zhengguang told Lu Hao that he had reached the first level.
Mu Zhengguang passed the recovery stage. It took him about ten days to tell others that he had reached the first level. His vigilance was not as strong as Xu Yingze's, but it was not weak either.
The second detail: Lu Hao once expressed his identity as a modern person to him. Whether intentionally or unintentionally, he had to respond with the same "sincerity".
Describes Mu Zhengguang's attitude towards his friends.
The third detail: Mu Zhengguang made bold statements.
When compared with the description in Chapter 2, "Mu Zhengguang clapped his hands and praised without hesitation." Mu Zhengguang is not modest, but he is not proud either.
The third part is Mu Zhengguang’s first game, which is the “Prologue to the Battle of Existence” as written in the title.
In this part, the main contents are about the rules of the game and the functions of countdown and acceleration timer.
There were almost no specific fighting scenes. This was the first battle, and the contestants were inexperienced and relied purely on "ability" to fight, without many opportunities to show off their tactics.
Both countdown and acceleration timer affect five basic attributes: speed, strength, attack, defense, and thinking speed.
The article does not explain why these five basic attributes are arranged in this way. These contents are not important and can be present or not. If they are mentioned, it will just become a waste of words. But I can say a few more words here because "Author's Words" is free of charge.
Speed comes first and thinking speed comes last, arranged according to the level of abstraction.
Speed is the least abstract and can be expressed directly. Strength is not too abstract either and can also be measured directly. Defense is more abstract than attack and is affected by psychological quality. Thinking speed is the most abstract and is greatly affected by psychological quality.
The role of countdown and acceleration timing is not limited to this. "Let the gold sand act on the opponent's vision, hearing, reaction ability, observation ability, bravery and timidity, firmness and weakness, selflessness and selfishness." Mu Zhengguang did not do this for three reasons: "Too harsh, too troublesome, and too much is as bad as too little."
"Inducing contestants to fight fiercely, the nature of the modeling competition seems to be very dangerous." From the last paragraph of this chapter, it can be seen that the modeling competition is indeed full of dangers.
Finally, I would like to emphasize the "special skills" that the protagonist has used so far: countdown and accelerated timing.
------------
Chapter 5: Each Has His Own Strengths and His Own Principles
This chapter is divided into two parts.
The first part, Shang Yu's game, wrote about two games.
The first game was relatively simple and was written in just one paragraph.
In the second game, Shang Yu played against Yu Hongsheng.
This part describes the four aspects of the asymptote entity: quality, lethality, whether the entity can recover quickly, and people's dependence on the entity.
Let's talk about mass first. "The mass he can mobilize in a short time is about 8 kilograms." The "8 kilograms" here refers to the mass of white paper that Shang Yu can use in a short period of time.
The sentence that clearly states the lethality is, "The asymptotic entity of a first-order asymptote is enough to cause damage to a first-order asymptote, even if the entity is paper." So far, the entities that appear in the text are candles, brushes, hourglasses, windmills, ginkgo leaves, white paper, umbrellas, and knives. The only weapon in the standard sense is a knife.
The next chapter describes dependencies in more detail and clarity.
Due to the particularity of white paper, this chapter also writes about the fifth aspect of performance. Through people's efforts, the asymptotic entity has more uses and more powerful effects. "He spent two months studying origami seriously."
The second part is Mu Zhengguang's match, Mu Zhengguang versus Peng Haoyuan.
The description of the battle in the previous chapter was very simple, but in this chapter, the battle begins to become longer and more complicated.
Peng Haoyuan lacked experience, and he was very worried about his opponent being injured by him. These two factors almost wiped out his advantage in the asymptotic entity.
Mu Zhengguang said, "What I rely on is not myself, but the hourglass." This sentence is accurate in the current situation and is not self-deprecating.
In this chapter, Mu Zhengguang made a wrong estimate of the game, but this was only the beginning, and the probability of misjudgment decreased as time went on. After all, he was inexperienced at the beginning, and the strength of the asymptotic entity did affect the game to some extent.
Since the two contestants do not know each other's names, when the perspective switches to the contestants, many personal pronouns are inevitably used, which requires readers to read more carefully, otherwise they may read it wrong.
If these personal pronouns are changed to names, it will be easier to read, but this goes against the author's original intention and is not consistent with the facts. What the author can do is to use a variety of personal pronouns alternately to avoid repeating the same word many times.
Finally, let's talk about Mu Zhengguang's negative emotions. The "fear" in the first chapter, "the two of them realized something was wrong and reduced the number of times they went out" in the second chapter, the "danger" he felt when reading the rules of the game, the "uneasiness" and "tension" when facing the long sword, these are all normal human emotions and reactions, and he has them all.
------------
Chapter 6: The Darkness of the Heart
This chapter only describes one thing in detail, which is Mu Zhengguang's third round match, Mu Zhengguang against Ma Mingyang.
The Rubik's Cube is also a very special asymptotic entity. "He entered the first level in July. Since then, he has signed up for a Rubik's Cube training class, practiced diligently, and benefited a lot." People can make themselves more proficient in the use of entities through acquired efforts.
"He thought he understood why his asymptotic entity was a Rubik's Cube." The reason that Ma Mingyang thought of may not be accurate. It is just his guess. It has not been confirmed by the narrator. It may be right or wrong. The protagonist's guess is the same. What the narrator says must be correct, but pay attention to whether there are quotation marks.
There is a detail when describing this game. The shining light is only called "shining light" in the narrator and Ma Mingyang's perspective. In the perspective of other people, it is called light, red light, and laser, because other people do not know the correct name of this light.
It is worth mentioning that the shimmering light is not the real light. If the shimmering light is the real light, Mu Zhengguang cannot avoid it.
"You can't rely too much on asymptotic entities, especially entities that can only appear once in a short period of time." "Shang Yu's entity can appear many times, but he is also the kind of person who relies too much on entities." Ma Mingyang and Shang Yu are both people who rely heavily on entities, and their abilities are mainly manifested through entities. Once the entity is taken away or exhausted, their attack and defense capabilities will be greatly reduced.
------------
Chapter 7: "Appropriating the Blessings of the Domain of All Things"
This chapter mainly writes about three things: chatting, competition and dinner.
"I'll use it when it's hard for me to win." Compared to Xu Yingze, Mu Zhengguang is relatively conservative. He thinks he doesn't need to use domain blessing in a battle that he can easily win, but Xu Yingze doesn't think so.
The third ability that appears after countdown and accelerated timing is domain blessing.
The descriptions of domain blessing in the text mainly include "Mu Zhengguang unfolds the asymptotic domain, and lets the asymptotic domain choose the air as the target" and "The existence force of the air is appropriated by Mu Zhengguang in some form and to some extent. With the assistance of this power, his attributes are 1.5 times the original attributes. In order to save trouble, the attribute improvement brought by domain blessing is limited to five common attributes. Using domain blessing in the short term is beneficial and harmless, but using it too much will make you tired."
This chapter is almost entirely about the two protagonists, with only a small competition plot inserted in the middle.
"No matter how strong they are, they are all empty and cannot be compared with you and me." "But before that, I can deal with my opponent first." On the court, Xu Ying is more confident than Mu Zhengguang.
During the dinner, Xu Ying said, "This hot pot restaurant is so expensive, why don't we change one?" Mu Zhengguang had already thought of this and agreed without hesitation, "It is very expensive, let's change."
From these two sentences, we can at least see the two attitudes of the two protagonists.
One is the attitude towards the other party: trust and consideration for the other party.
The second is the attitude towards price. One party thinks it is too expensive and proposes to change to another store. The other party listens to the suggestion and agrees without thinking.
In the process, there was no pretense, no vanity, and the two people felt relaxed and free when they got along with each other.
There are some other details in this chapter, such as Xu Yingze's views on scores, how to deal with the menu, Mu Zhengguang's views on the goals of the competition, and how much of the food they chose is the same. I will not go into details about these.
