I have been opening the comments section every day recently, and I am deeply touched. Because it is a fan fiction, many readers will prejudge the headquarters' practices and Cao Yang's performance in the original book, but I understand this very well. The headquarters in the original book does have a bad reputation, officialism, bossing around the ghost riders, concealing and deleting information to indirectly harm people, these practices are indeed not likable.

Secondly, Cao Yang, as portrayed in the original novel, should be considered by many people to be the weakest of the twelve captains. Previously, a reader insisted that Cao Yang was a waste who only ate resources but had no real strength, saying that his strength was not worthy of the position of captain. I was very unhappy to hear this, because there is a logical problem in this statement. If most of the resources of the headquarters were given to Cao Yang, then why did he have no strength? If you only pile up ghosts in the circle of friends, you can pile up a Jiang Shangbai. If Cao Yang really ate up a lot of resources from the headquarters, how could he be a waste?
Recently, the topic about the original setting (Mi setting) has been very hot. I myself also knew part of the original setting before, so Cao Yang in this book will grow according to the original setting. Although Cao Yang is not the most outstanding and top existence in the original setting, he is definitely not a rookie who only relies on suppressing human ghosts and ghost wind to fight national wars as written in the original book.

I personally like the character Cao Yang very much. Although he did not have any outstanding performance in the original work, he never missed any major events, such as the meeting after the starving ghosts, the ghost incident at the training base, the ghost lake incident in the later period, and the national war. Cao Yang may not be strong, but he is never afraid of the stage. In Taiping Ancient Town, when Yang Jian confronted the group of second-generation predecessors, Cao Yang was the first to stand up and support Yang Jian. In the end, he was besieged and offline by the king in the national war, and many readers felt regretful and sighed.

I think the character of Cao Yang has his own unique personal charm, so I started writing. Some readers also asked why he still joined the headquarters after traveling through time. What I want to say is that the style of the headquarters in the original work is indeed disgusting, but until Cao Yanhua passed away, he, as Cao Yang's uncle, has always been the decision-maker of the headquarters. It is not difficult to give favoritism and resource tilt when Cao Yang can achieve results on paper. As for those annoying practices in the original work, I will try my best to avoid them, so that the headquarters will not treat Cao Yang unfairly and reduce readers' disgust with the headquarters.

Then let me talk about the problems that have appeared in this book and pointed out by readers since the book was published. Although I said in the post that I would make changes, I have been busy with my graduation thesis recently and have not made any changes. I apologize to all readers here. I will explain some of the problems in a unified way:
① Regarding the relatives of Cao Yanhua and Cao Yang: I looked up the original book and found that Cao Yanhua had a son named Cao Bin. I indeed forgot this. Thank you for your correction. Then there is the question of Cao Yang's parents. The original book mentioned that Cao Yang asked his uncle to bring a message to his parents, but it did not clearly state whether Cao Yang's parents were still alive. (Because the book made other arrangements for Cao Yang's parents, it is not convenient to disclose here, so I slightly changed the setting. Please understand.)
② Regarding Cao Yang joining the headquarters and the issue of handing over or keeping some supplies: Cao Yanhua is the deputy director of the headquarters, and Cao Yang has a relationship with his uncle. It is almost impossible for him to be treated like Yang Jian in the original novel. Although it is not to say that he is partial to good things every time, it is very simple to simply allocate resources and intelligence to solve incidents without deletions. The second is supplies. In theory, the ghosts and supernatural items detained by the person in charge can be kept by himself without handing them over to the headquarters. Regarding the bronze spear, there was a problem with my description that led to readers' misunderstanding. What I wanted to express was that Cao Yang wanted the headquarters to study the things clearly before taking them back, but when I was writing, my pig brain was overloaded and the expression was not clear. (I will listen to suggestions in this regard, and all readers are welcome to point them out)
③ About the original setting: In fact, many works have more or less involved some of the original setting. The book "Bei Tian Xia" has the most, but the readers' acceptance seems to be not ideal. Learning from the lesson of "Bei Tian Xia", only Cao Yang will write the book "The Peddler" according to the original setting, and will also mix in some of his own settings. I also hope that readers can be more tolerant and understanding. I will try my best to write the character of Cao Yang well.
