Chapter 176: The typical example of pretending to be an idiot
Hermes's fast-running figure left a dazzling light. He ran around the Holy Fire Hall several times, and finally stopped at the door where Lin You had just stopped. He looked around anxiously, as if looking for someone.

Unfortunately, the person He wanted to find was already trapped in a cage. How could He find him?
"Looking for Artemis?" After making sure there was no one around, Lin You's figure and voice appeared at the same time like a ghost, "Of course I'm not talking about the trapped one, but the hunting goddess of your world."

Hermes took several steps back; as a god known for his speed, it was almost his instinct to keep a distance from those with bad intentions.

"You... the writer?" God's envoy was puzzled.

Lin You smiled and said, "It seems that you have done sufficient preparation. Logically speaking, the native gods of the story world will not recognize my identity at first sight unless they pay special attention to me."

Hermes didn't know how to answer. He rolled his eyes and deliberately changed the subject, asking, "You are the only one here. Have you seen Artemis?"

"I've met him once. Why are you looking for him too?"

"Of course, where is He?" Hermes knew something was wrong when he heard this. Although he didn't show it on his face, he was actually preparing to run away. The darkening sky and earth were visible to all. With Artemis's hot temper, how could she let it go when she saw the writer?

At this moment, the goddess of hunting has disappeared. It is conceivable that her meeting with the writer was probably not a pleasant one.

"He was a little tired, so he went to sleep." Lin You said nonsense, "What do you want to talk to him about?"

"It's actually no big deal." Before Hermes finished his words, he suddenly exerted force on his feet and flew away as fast as an arrow.

Lin You started almost at the same time, and in a blink of an eye he caught up with the white light and ran side by side with Hermes.

"It turns out that your speed is not even twice the speed of sound!" The writer even had the energy to tease the other party.

Hermes was horrified, and he stopped suddenly, then jumped onto the facade of the building; his speed was not enough to escape from his opponent, so he planned to get rid of him by climbing and jumping.

Olympia had complex structures and varied terrain. Hermes firmly believed that he could rely on his familiarity with the terrain to get rid of his opponent, but he never considered that his opponent had no interest in continuing the race.

"Thunder explosion, flying sand and rocks, pieces torn into pieces, invisible sword..." One after another, the magic spells came from behind, bombing the road in front, chasing the legs and feet, or cutting the suspension bridge; it completely disrupted the rhythm of Hermes' escape.

Then, there are "numerous obstacles, strength is weakened, legs are stiff and dead" and so on.

With a speed comparable to Hermes, Lin You was able to follow the opponent's movement trajectory, and none of his spells missed. As a result, the legs of the envoy of God came together uncontrollably, and because of inertia, he flew straight out and fell dizzy.

Then he was dragged back by the "Floating Spell".

Since entering the God of War world, Lin You had encountered six or seven native gods, and had fought with four or five of them; the one in front of him was the one who was defeated most cleanly. He didn't even fight back once, and he wanted to run away but couldn't, and was directly taken prisoner.

Even though Apollo had no fighting spirit, he still managed to hold out for a few rounds!

In fact, in the game plot of God of War 3, the appearance and exit of Hermes are the most puzzling.

This apostle of God has speed, but not much lethality; there is no need for him to appear in front of the protagonist Kratos, let alone compete with him. Because he can neither cause substantial damage to Kratos nor effectively hinder the other party's mission objectives, and even does not seem to have any role in promoting the plot; it seems that he appeared only to talk nonsense and show off. As for Hermes' final death and exit, it is even more funny. He failed to show off and was fucked; after being caught up by Kratos, his two legs were chopped off alive, and he died of excessive blood loss while wailing - a sharp contrast to his nonsense when he first appeared.

All in all, the appearance of this envoy of God in the game seems to be simply to give himself away, and his bad mouthing is just to give the protagonist a reason to kill him and get his equipment.

But then again, the equipment that exploded from "Hermes" is not good or not, at least it is quite interesting. Thinking of this, Lin You's eyes fell on the two shoes that Hermes was wearing.

"Mr. Writer, are we...are we misunderstanding something?" Hermes was just like he was in the game, he would get scared very quickly when the situation got bad; his only strength was speed, and his legs were frozen and locked by magic, which meant his only support was destroyed.

"Yeah, I also think there must be a deep misunderstanding between us." Lin You looked at him with a smile, "Otherwise, why did you run away when you saw me? And you didn't even say 'goodbye'."

Hermes forced a smile and said, "Sorry, I was rude. I just remembered something urgent..."

"No matter how anxious you are, don't be anxious, and don't rush to apologize." Lin You still smiled, "Answer my question first, what are you doing here to find the hunting goddess?"

"Actually, it's nothing..." Hermes wanted to play it off, but he didn't expect Lin You's "Invisible Sword" to brush past his knee, not only cutting off a large piece of flesh, but also leaving a straight crack on the marble floor.

Hermes screamed, blood gushed out from his calf, and the blood fell to the ground and flowed along the cracks.

"Look, look, your legs are so stiff, why are you still moving? It's cut crooked now, isn't it?" Lin You complained in a fake tone, "Don't move, so I can cut accurately and neatly, and stop the bleeding later. I only want your pair of flying shoes with wings, not your life."

"No, no, no, I can take off my shoes and give them to you. Please, Mr. Writer... It's not fair to treat a person who has lost the ability to move and resist, and it doesn't bring you honor, sir."

"No ability to resist?" Lin You said disapprovingly, "But why do I feel that you still have a very strong sense of resistance on the spiritual level?"

As he spoke, the "God's Invisible Sword" fell again; this time it did not cut Hermes' flesh, but hit the pool of blood on the ground, splashing all over His face.

"Sir, I'll tell you everything." Hermes spoke very quickly in fear. "Zeus, my father, asked me to do reconnaissance work, monitor the situation of the main gods of each major world, as well as Kratos' progress, and inform others in a timely manner."

"Oh? What's the situation now?" Lin You immediately became interested when he heard that.

Hermes covered his wound tightly with his hand and answered tremblingly: "Kratos has killed Demeter and Dionysus and is heading towards where I am. I mean, the next one will be the turn of Hermes of the Great World."

 Third update
I owed you a follow-up update because I was sick the day before yesterday. I will make it up to you next year.

This chapter is the last one updated this year. This book is too subjective and non-mainstream in terms of creativity, writing style, rhythm, etc. It is the support of all the book friends that allowed me to persist. I would like to express my twelve cents gratitude to all the book friends.

  See you next year.
