Chapter 265: Tragic Incident in the Warehouse

Chapter 265: Tragic Incident in the Warehouse

The Muggle employees of the warehouse had been given leave to go home, and the only ones left on the scene were wizards; and in addition to the three employees of the Forrester family, there were seven or eight wizards standing in a group, all of them were employees of the Ministry of Magic.

One of them, a middle-aged man with a slicked-back hair, a mustache, and thick eyebrows sticking up like comb teeth, saw Lin You coming in. He moved his feet as if he wanted to take a few steps forward, but he held back and stayed where he was. It was not until Lin You got closer that the middle-aged man straightened his clothes and prepared to greet him, but Lin You didn't even raise his eyelids and just passed him by.

The staff of the Ministry of Magic were like a group of statues, staring blankly at the spot. Although their faces were grim, no one dared to speak casually.

Deep inside the warehouse, three Dementors were huddled together, with two Patronuses flying around in circles outside, trapping them firmly in the middle. The two Patronuses were a hound and a seagull, cast by the warehouse's worker foreman and security foreman respectively.

"Is this what they call controlling the Dementors?" Lin You looked at Dawlish with a half-smile, "I don't even know when my employee passed the exam to become an Auror."

Dalishi's face looked very unhappy. He wanted to say something, but he glanced at the middle-aged man next to him and swallowed his words consciously.

"Dementors know how to accept orders from wizards; even without the Patronus Charm, Aurors can control them." The middle-aged man was not tall, but when facing Lin You, a ten-year-old child, he still stretched his neck hard, trying to make his figure look a little more "tall".

Lin You didn't move at all, only glancing at the middle-aged man, as if he was observing him from the corner of his eye. But even just a little bit of peripheral vision made the middle-aged man feel the same "ban on speech" illusion that Dalish had felt before.

This is a kind of mental pressure, just like a sharp sword suddenly hanging over your head; even if you know it is basically impossible for it to fall, you still dare not breathe.

"Aurors can control Dementors? Do you think the dozens of Muggle victims out there believe this nonsense?"

Lin You was silent for only a moment, but the Ministry of Magic staff present felt that they had experienced the longest and most difficult time in their lives; it was not until he started to speak that they all breathed a sigh of relief at the same time.

The middle-aged man pretended to be calm and replied, "It was just a small accident, and the injured were only Muggles, right? Everyone knows that Muggles are not as strong-willed as wizards. If it were wizards, two or three Dementors would not be a big problem at all."

Inadvertently, discriminatory remarks against Muggles came out of their mouths; but Lin You was already used to it. Just as he once said to Dumbledore, with the ignorance and arrogance of wizards, even those who are closest to Muggles will unconsciously look down on Muggles.

What really bothered Lin You was the middle-aged man's attempt to shirk responsibility. The riot took place on the Forrest family's territory, directly and indirectly causing many unnecessary twists and turns to cross-border trade.

Although the actual loss is not great, the attitude of the perpetrator cannot be ignored. It is even more intolerable to shirk responsibility and try to make a big thing small or a small thing nothing.

"The Dementors are controllable, but in fact, there was another accidental attack on Muggles..." Lin You's tone was neither positive nor negative, and he spoke slowly, "Listening to these two sentences together, are you implying that the Aurors deliberately controlled the Dementors to carry out this 'accidental' attack?"

Hearing this, Dalishi's face turned pale, while the middle-aged man's face turned red in an instant.

It is a serious crime for wizards to actively attack Muggles, especially in a case with so many victims. Once the charges are proven, they are destined to be sent to Azkaban for life.

The middle-aged man's face was red to purple, and hot air was coming out of his nostrils, and he was breathing in cold air, as if he was trying to cool down. After a long while, he finally changed the subject: "Piers Thicknesse, works for the Department of Magical Law Enforcement; it's a pleasure to meet you, Lord Goff."

"You should have introduced yourself as soon as you met, instead of telling those stupid lies." Lin You showed no mercy to the other party, and when he scolded the staff of the Ministry of Magic, he was more like a minister than Cornelius Fudge.

The repeated humiliation made all the staff of the Ministry of Magic unable to suppress their anger, but strangely, whenever they made eye contact with Lin You, all their anger and courage disappeared in an instant, as if they were splashed with ice and snow from the Arctic. The mental control ability of the Ophiuchus microcosm is not something that ordinary people can contend with; if Lin You and Voldemort stood in front of these wizards at the same time, they would definitely prefer to attack the one who must not be named.

After venting his sarcasm, Lin You turned his head away and ignored the people from the Ministry of Magic. Instead, he looked at the three trapped Dementors again.

"How effective are our defenses against Dementors?" Count Goff asked his security foreman.

"The effect is remarkable; especially after the defense measures against dark magic and dark creatures were activated, these guys immediately ran a hundred yards before stopping. However, we have set up too many defense measures, and we don't know which link is effective against Dementors."

"Anyway, all measures are activated every time, and there is no need to clearly distinguish what they do. Do you want to do research and get the Order of Merlin?" the foreman of the loaders at the side teased.

Lin You was amused by his own employees and felt better. After careful observation, he found that although the Dementors moved left and right to avoid the Patronus, they seemed to have more different emotions besides fear.

For example, eager, manic, and excited.

Dementors have no facial features, nor do they have body language like humans; their emotional changes are difficult for others to perceive, but they cannot be hidden from the Ophiuchus Saint who has extraordinary mental control abilities.

Looking at the Dementors in front of him, Lin You was reminded of the behavior of some drug addicts when they were high; while enjoying the sensory stimulation, they felt that they were not satisfied yet, completely losing their reason, and wanting to plunge into the darkest abyss without any regard for anything else.

These Dementors had absorbed the happiness of at least fifty Muggles and could no longer suppress their instincts, so they were as excited and unsatisfied as drug addicts.

This association made Lin You hate the magical creature in front of him even more, but the magic world generally recognized that there was no suitable way to kill Dementors, so they could only be expelled.

After standing in front of the Dementors for a while, seeing that they were getting more and more restless, Lin You slowly took out the "Helios Sphere" from his pocket. Since this sphere can kill the inferior demons of Hell, it should also be effective against Dementors, right?

The warm sunlight spread to every corner of the warehouse. The golden light was not dazzling, but it ignited the Dementor's robe the moment it came into contact with it.

The robe seemed to be soaked in water and quickly turned to ashes in the flames, revealing an ugly corpse-like figure underneath; whether it was the rotten torso, scabbed palms, or the face without facial features, all of them were burning fiercely under the sunlight.

The Dementors screamed; in fact, it was just the single hole on their faces that was constantly inhaling and exhaling, and the air quickly passed through the gap to form a sharp whistling sound, which was mistaken for screams by the wizards present.

The "fire" caused such severe pain to the Dementors that they overcame their instincts, rushed through the Patronus' blockade, and flew straight towards the warehouse door.

Lin You gently waved the magic wand, and a long snake Patronus flew out from the tip of the wand; the slender snake body coiled into a circle, like a rope loop thrown by a cowboy, accurately catching three Dementors at the same time and dragging them back.

All the "screams" were trapped in this warehouse, not a single sound leaked out.
