Chapter 389: The author who violated the law while enforcing it

Chapter 389: The author who violated the law while enforcing it
After successfully breaking out from Valentine and returning to Horseshoe Lookout, Dutch van der Linde hurriedly drove the gang members to pack their luggage and prepare to embark on the road of escape again; the camp was in chaos.

Lin You once again stood on the top of the big tree in the center of the camp, where he could overlook the entire scene.

After the gunfight, the vague "causal line" of John Marston finally emerged completely and clearly, further proving the author's conjecture. Then, Lin You's eyes could not help but fall on more people.

Abigail, Little Jack, Marybeth, Tilly, Pearson, Uncle, Charles, Reverend Swanson, Bill and Javier; and of course the core of the entire gang - Dutch van der Linde.

Are there fragments of Loki's consciousness in these people?

If so, when and why will it be revealed?

The fragments on John Marston's body were exposed because of the robbery he led; thinking back, the fragments on Agent Ross's consciousness were exposed probably because he accepted the mission to hunt down the Van der Linde gang; as for the Downes mother and son, the fate of their family was probably completely changed the day when the head of the family, Mr. Downes, borrowed usury and was chased for debt.

Is fate the key to the problem? Not really!
The real key lies in the will of the great world; it is the power of the will of the great world that forces the fragments of consciousness originally hidden deep in the character's soul to appear. The change in the character's fate is just a fuse. This change is like a magnet, attracting a little power of the will of the great world through the connection of the "causal line"; two divine powers of different origins and different attributes collide in the soul, making Loki's fragments of consciousness unable to remain silent and passively appear.

Therefore, if there is a way to make the power of the big world's will undergo a certain "specific fluctuation", then the fluctuation of power will lead to all "causal lines"; whether it is the "thread ends" buried deep in the big world, or the carriers of consciousness fragments on the other side of the "thread ends" will all be exposed.

The possibility of having a chance to solve the problem once and for all made the writer very excited. He almost "grasped" the quill with one hand, but quickly forced himself to calm down.

"It's not worth it, and it's not safe." The writer muttered to himself and put down the quill pen; the half-revealed card was covered back by his own hands.

Lin You calmed down and turned his gaze back to the tree. Under his nose, Dutch van der Linde issued a new order, requiring Arthur and Charles to set out together to lead the way for the whole gang and inspect the next preparatory camp.

Looking at the two people riding away in a hurry, and then "thinking back" to what they had experienced on this trip, Lin You had a bold idea in his mind.

The two men will meet a family of German immigrants at the place designated as the camp. The male owner of this family of immigrants has been kidnapped by local bandits, leaving only the female owner and two children hiding in the debris pile of the camp, but they are found by Arthur and Charles.

Then, under Charles's strong advocacy, the two killed the kidnappers and rescued the male host; and in the rescue process, they accidentally discovered a place that was more suitable as a gang base, which can be regarded as good rewards for good people.

The temporary change of camp is a matter of life and death for the Van der Linde gang. The change of camp location will also bring about changes in subsequent encounters. Will this change lead to changes in the fate of certain characters?

With this thought in mind, Lin You waved his hand and packed up the family of three and all their belongings from the pile of junk and took them away.

Obviously, riding a horse cannot keep up with the speed of space transmission. When Arthur and Charles spent several hours trekking dozens of miles and finally arrived at the dry riverbed, the German immigrant family had already been reunited with the help of a mysterious and powerful force; and the kidnapper who kidnapped their male owner was sunk into the lake to feed the fish.

So, what Arthur and Charles saw was a desolate wilderness with a not-so-good environment, but nothing unusual around it and indeed a sparsely populated area.

Although there was a road on one side of the riverbed, there was a dense forest on the other side; the dry riverbed was covered with silt and was also a hunting ground for coyotes and poisonous snakes, so no one would easily set foot in it. If we set up the camp in the woods on the other side of the riverbed, we could indeed avoid the eyes of most people.

Lin You, who had just returned from rescuing a German immigrant family, stood in the woods, quietly observing the actions of Arthur and Charles. At the moment when the two decided to turn back, a ball of divine light, not very bright but with a strong aura, suddenly burst out from Charles, and it flashed away. Fate was changed, and a new "causal line" was exposed to the writer.

Before the writer could feel happy, a surprised voice sounded in his ear: "You actually created the 'unknown'?"

Lin You smiled calmly, without any surprise on his face, as if he had expected this voice to appear. He turned his head and sideways, and what came into his sight was the accountant wearing a top hat and acting in a secretive manner.

"I thought you were missing, Mr. Accountant." Although the writer took the initiative to greet him, the indifference and alienation in his tone was clearly discernible.

“Missing, no, I just…” The accountant’s tone was a little hesitant.

Lin You took the initiative to interrupt the other party and reminded him very "kindly": "Stop, wait a minute, think about it first. You must make up a good excuse, otherwise I have no reason to let you go; if we really have to fight, it will hurt our feelings."

"..." The accountant's face turned red; even if he was just a "wild god", it was a very embarrassing thing to have such a mortal-like expression on his face.

How can a "god" not be able to control the physiological changes of his own body? How is he different from a "lower creature"?
"I have no ability to fight against the true God, I have no ability to fight against Loki, just like I have no ability to fight against you now." The accountant held it in for a long time and only said this "truth".

At least, from Hela and Patrick Morgan's perspective, using this "big truth" to deal with Lin You should be just right.

Sure enough, after hearing the "truth", although Lin You had a look of disdain on his face, he did not take direct action as he had warned.

"You should know that fence-sitters are worthless in the eyes of either side."

“But in my eyes, the life of a fence-sitter is the most valuable.” The accountant—or the Goddess of Death Hela—continued with what she had said before. “No matter how valuable it is, I only have one life, and I am the only one who will cherish it. I don’t have the ‘undying privilege’ of your true gods. Do I need to remind you of this?”

"Of course, I wrote this privilege with a quill pen. I remember it clearly!" Lin You replied casually, "But since you have decided to be a fence-sitter, why did you come back? Patrick should have warned you."

"Let's put aside the reason why I came back. Now I just want to know whether you have just changed the fate of the Van der Linde gang and created an 'unknown'?"

The accountant looked serious, but Lin You didn't care.

"Yes what's the matter?"

"You... aren't you breaking the law?"
