Falsifying history is good business

Chapter 486: Elrond of Rivendell

Twenty or so wolf riders were just a scout team of the Orcs. There was no shortage of forces in Middle-earth that could wipe them out in one fell swoop. Even though Lin You's methods were bizarre and strange, Gandalf would not surrender easily.

The dwarves and hobbits were simply shocked by the efficient and cruel killing methods, but what really impressed the two "Maiyas" was the divine aura that was revealed at the right time from Lin You; the specialness of divinity does not lie in how powerful it is, but in that it can prove that Lin You and the "Vila" are lives of the same level.

Maybe even higher.

The group of people regrouped and were about to set off when the brown-robed wizard muttered something that no one could hear clearly, put the three little birds back into his hat, jumped onto the sled, and ran away without saying a word.

Gandalf explained slowly: "Oh, that's just how Radagast is. Don't worry about it. He must be missing the children in Mirkwood."

After listening to the gray-robed wizard's explanation, no one knew what the dwarves were thinking, but Lin You always felt that the brown-robed wizard's back looked like he was fleeing in a panic and away from trouble.

The group walked out of the woods and headed east. Not far away, they suddenly heard the sound of dense hoofbeats in front of them. The dwarves were like frightened birds. They immediately drew their weapons and were on guard, but inexplicably they kept their eyes on Lin You.

Gandalf laughed and strode towards the direction where the hoofbeats came from; it didn't take a keen sense to tell with the naked eye that the grey-robed wizard was in a completely relaxed state.

The sound of horse hooves was completely different from the noise of running wolves, and the dwarves' vigilance was just a habit, a normal reaction for all travelers in the wilderness.

Although the world is generally peaceful, in the context of the Middle Ages, except for races like orcs who are naturally cruel, it does not mean that other ethnic groups or groups will not have malicious intentions.

A group of knights suddenly jumped up from the back of a hill not far away and came into everyone's sight.

The style of this group of knights is completely different from the Orc Wolf Riders we saw earlier.

The orcs were rough and brutal, their equipment was simple and rough, and they naturally had a ferocious aura. But the knights who appeared in sight at this moment were elegant and neat, with standard armor, longbows and sharp swords, all of which were exquisite and gorgeous, even comparable to the golden holy clothes on Lin You.

Rather than being weapons or tools of war, they are more like works of art.

Under the finely carved helmet, there is long, smooth hair in either gold or black. With a firm gaze and an upright posture, every move seems to interpret what "elegance" means.

If this group of people were not on the battlefield, it would not be out of place to appear in an oil painting with a beauty theme.

This elegance is not a kind of affectation that sacrifices combat effectiveness, but a temperament that is naturally formed and engraved in their bones; the elegant temperament does not prevent them from making concise and efficient tactical moves.

They were all excellent riders, and their tactical formation of dispersed cavalry attack was impeccable. Although there were only a dozen cavalrymen, they gave people the illusion of a mighty army advancing like a wall.

There is an ancient Chinese idiom specifically used to describe military discipline - "leisurely and well-organized"; Lin You felt that this word seemed to be naturally prepared for this group of knights.

These people are elves.

Although he hadn't seen the iconic ears yet, Lin You could already tell from the equipment style, action temperament, combat skills and other aspects of this group of people that they were the most elegant and perhaps the most disciplined army in the Lord of the Rings story.

Stable and impeccably skilled techniques and a calm and composed temperament; this is not something a race with a limited lifespan can do.

It's not that there aren't talented, well-trained, and good-natured soldiers among humans, but how could it be so easy for talented people to appear in large numbers and form cavalry squads to act collectively?
In the medieval context, the human beings, from the national regime to the small group organization, did not have the organizational and mobilization capabilities to put so many elite soldiers in the same team. This was also true in the demon hunter world. Lin You stood not far behind Gandalf, his voice neither too loud nor too low, as if simply stating a well-known fact: "You found these elves, and you planned it long ago. Even if I didn't come, those orc cavalry could not pose a real threat. At most, if we delay for half a quarter of an hour, they will run into this elf cavalry."

Compared to the dwarves, the elves and orcs had a feud earlier; given the elves' hatred for orcs, those wolf riders would surely die if they met.

Gandalf smiled without saying anything, and waved to the cavalry on the opposite side with open arms: "Thank you, my friends; Elrond, thank you for responding to my request for help."

The knights on the opposite side came not far in front of Gandalf and pulled the reins in unison; not only the knights on horseback, but even their mounts seemed to understand the elegance of uniformity and leisure.

The leading knight took off his helmet, revealing his smooth black hair.

"Gandalf, and all; Elrond greets you."

This elf has the appearance of a middle-aged man, with a delicate and meticulously groomed face, which makes people feel good about him out of the blue. He is very elegant.

His eyes were deep and bright, just like the night sky twinkling with stars. No, maybe that's not 'just like'.

This elf really has stars in his eyes!

Lin You vaguely recalled the preferential treatment that elves, as newborn children, received in this world’s worldview.

They were born before the sun and moon appeared, and many elders witnessed the rising of the sun and moon and the birth of the sky full of stars.

The dwarves came forward one by one to greet them; no matter what they were thinking or feeling, at least when they met and greeted each other, the dwarves maintained restrained politeness.

It was clear that they were aware of Gandalf's pre-arranged but deliberately concealed plan; judging from their instinctive reactions in expressions and body movements, the dwarves were not without opinion on this.

Due to the huge differences in culture and customs, the overall personalities of the two ethnic groups, dwarves and elves, are quite different; although both sides were once victims of the expansion of the dark enemy, they had exchanged skills and conducted trade with each other in the past, and they might even help each other and fight side by side on the battlefield, but in daily life, it is not only difficult for dwarves and elves to get along, but they don't even have many topics to talk about.

After all, there was a grudge between the dwarves and the elves when the Lonely Mountain fell. Although Elrond belonged to another branch of elves, the dwarves still couldn't help feeling uncomfortable.

In addition, most dwarves are frank but stubborn, rude but passionate, and rarely hide their emotions, especially when dealing with friends.

Gandalf's covert behavior even seemed like he was deliberately creating a fait accompli to force people to submit. Even Lin You couldn't help but criticize him, let alone the stubborn dwarves?

Gandalf seemed unaware. He seemed to have an innate understanding that "As long as I don't feel embarrassed, others will be embarrassed."

After the dwarves finished introducing themselves, the gray-robed wizard solemnly introduced Lin You: "The envoy from a foreign land, Blaise de Forest. He has very important information to...question the Holy White Council."

Gandalf considered again and again, and used the word "question". (End of this chapter)
