The rise of a great power: starting with military industry

Chapter 449: Three Steps to Manned Spaceflight

Chapter 449: Three Steps to Manned Spaceflight

Manned space flight involves all aspects.

Seven major fields: biology, information, aerospace, laser, automation, materials and energy!

The restart of the manned space program is naturally very exciting.

However, the huge investment still makes people feel overwhelmed.

For the construction of the Beidou Satellite Navigation System project, the country only needs to coordinate, organize and develop. Not much money is actually needed from the country. Most of the investment comes from Panshan Group, which takes the lead and plays a leading role, with China National Aerospace Corporation cooperating and assisting.

But manned space projects are different. The country has to pay for it. Even if the early technical demonstration and early technical accumulation do not require too much investment, the total investment of 100 billion yuan will be divided into ten years, with relatively small investments in the early stage and relatively large investments in the later stage.

But even so, the country feels that it is too much to pay out such a huge sum of money.

After all, the country's annual military expenditure is nearly 200 billion yuan, and many military equipment have to be paid in taxes by Panshan Group.

It would naturally be embarrassing to let Panshan Group bear the cost of the entire manned space project.

The space shuttle is very good, but China cannot afford it. Even if China can build a space shuttle, it cannot use it.

The space shuttle is like a beautiful, rich woman, while China today is just a poor loser.

I really can’t afford it!
Even if a poor loser is lucky enough to date a beautiful, rich and pretty girl, he cannot afford to support her.

When other participants saw that China's first-generation chief scientists and second-generation chief scientists both agreed with the technical route of spacecraft, naturally, there was nothing controversial about the technical route of manned engineering.

That’s the influence of a chief scientist.

At the meeting, Qian mentioned that my country's manned spaceflight should implement a "three-step" development strategy:

The first step is to launch a manned spacecraft, build a preliminary supporting experimental manned spacecraft project and carry out space application experiments.

The second step is to make breakthroughs in astronauts' extravehicular activity technology and spacecraft's rendezvous and docking technology, launch a space laboratory, and solve the problem of short-term manned space applications on a certain scale.

The third step is to build a space station to solve the problem of large-scale, long-term manned space applications.

Each step takes about ten years!
It will take 30 years for China's manned space technology and aerospace technology to reach the current level of the United States and the Soviet Union.

It can be said that this aerospace science and technology conference has a far-reaching impact, and it can almost be said to determine the development direction and strategy of China's aerospace in the next 30 years!
The entire conference lasted for three days before it was a complete success.

At the age of 74, Mr. Qian once again took on the heavy responsibility and served as the commander-in-chief of China's manned space program, and Wang Yongzhi was appointed as the chief designer of China's manned space program.

Liu Tao has a feeling of changing history and witnessing history.

It should be noted that China's satellite navigation did not begin the development of the Beidou satellite navigation test system until 1994, and it was not until 2000 that two geostationary orbit satellites were launched to realize regional navigation functions. In 2003, a backup satellite was launched to complete the establishment of the Beidou satellite navigation test system.

At that time, China planned to join the EU's Galileo positioning system project and invested 2.3 million euros in the next few years. Unfortunately, the EU's arrogance forced China to independently develop the Beidou satellite navigation system (Beidou-)!

As for the manned space program, it was not officially launched until 1992 in the previous life.

And now the manned space program has been advanced by 7 years!
The 'Beidou Satellite Navigation System' project was not reported, all the reports were on China's manned project.

The news that China was going to implement a manned space program quickly spread throughout the country and abroad.

The country is looking forward to it. Every Chinese has a space dream. In this era, seeing the huge gap between China and Europe and the United States, many Chinese are not confident, and even confused. Manned space flight is undoubtedly a move to reunite the people and boost national confidence.

There is all sorts of ridicule and sarcasm overseas.

As for the Soviet Union and the United States, they achieved manned space flight a long time ago, and they knew how difficult it was to achieve manned space flight. With China's current technology, it is simply impossible to achieve manned space flight, let alone build a space station.

The Soviet Union and the United States are well aware of how much investment is made in the aerospace field.

However, they are also happy to see China invest funds in aerospace, which can slow down China's development.

As for countries like Europe and Japan, the media were even more sarcastic and mocking.

You know, even though Japan is the second largest economy now, it doesn't dare to dream of manned space flight. And Europe, as a traditional Western power, has only a handful of achievements in space flight.

They are not optimistic about China's manned space program at all.

What a joke, if China achieves manned space flight, doesn't that mean China has surpassed them and become the third country in the world after the Soviet Union and the United States to achieve manned space flight and master manned space flight technology?

Regardless of how the outside world reacts, the two huge aerospace projects, the "Beidou Satellite Navigation System" project and the "Manned Spaceflight Project", began to unfold in an orderly manner.

Form a technical team and construct ground matching projects.

For example, the Beidou Satellite Navigation System project requires the establishment of one master control station, three data injection stations and five monitoring stations on the ground.

These must be constructed immediately.

In order to prepare for the war in the south, Liu Tao built a temporary main control station in Kunming City so that the three Beidou Navigation Test Satellites in space could be used on the battlefield.

Although the three Beidou Navigation Experimental Satellites are of different sizes, they can initially form a regional navigation system.

The accuracy can even reach 10 meters!
There are even more supporting projects for the "manned space program", including the establishment of an astronaut training center, more advanced ground monitoring stations and marine monitoring ships, and the development of launch vehicles with greater carrying capacity.

Of course, this also includes the development of manned spacecraft.

Before manned space flight can be truly realized, a series of tests must be carried out and at least three or four spacecraft must be built. Only when it is confirmed that biological organisms can be brought back to the ground safely from space can manned space flight be truly carried out.

Both the Beidou Navigation Satellite System project and the manned space program are national key projects, and it is no exaggeration to say that they involve the efforts of the entire country.

Funding is one aspect, and technical team is another.

Space technology has never been something that can be acquired simply by having money.

For example, the oil-producing countries in the Middle East, such as Saudi Arabia and Kuwait, are all very rich, but they cannot engage in aerospace because they lack aerospace-related technical personnel and aerospace industry!

Panshan Group can solve the funding problem of the "Beidou Navigation Satellite System" project, but it cannot solve the problem of the corresponding technical team.

In this regard, the country needs to coordinate and organize talents.

And the main control station must be built in the capital, and construction must be started immediately.
