The Jinling Dashengguan Yangtze River Bridge across the Yangtze River is 9.273 kilometers long, with a main bridge of six lines and a design speed of 300 kilometers per hour. The main bridge is a six-span continuous steel truss arch with a main span of 2×336 meters.

According to the construction schedule, it would take three years to build the double track and prepare for full operation. Another three years would be needed to build the double track, and by 1992 the entire Beijing-Shanghai Railway would be completed.

It is no exaggeration to say that the Beijing-Shanghai Railway is also a century-level project.
