The medium-sized combined brigade is a highly mobile armored assault force. Its weapons and equipment are mainly various "big eight-wheeled" vehicles, and they have achieved a unified chassis. Although the off-road capability of the "big eight-wheeled" vehicle is not as good as that of tracked equipment, it has the characteristics of flexibility, high speed and low noise, low cost, excellent load-bearing performance, and strong self-protection ability. The medium-sized combined brigade and the heavy combined brigade are often able to exert a first-class combat effectiveness level when used together.

The light combined brigade is different from the heavy and medium combined brigades. Its weapons and equipment are mainly the "Mengshi" series. It is a light and highly mobile force, and its outstanding features are flexibility, lightness and speed. With its superior mobility and powerful information system support, its combat effectiveness is extremely strong.

Although the three current combined brigades are also heavy combined brigades, medium combined brigades, and light combined brigades, they were originally used as the seeds and cradles of combined forces, so they all adopt a large organization, and each combined brigade has a staff of 800 people.

In addition, even for a light combined brigade, its main and most powerful combat force is the Type 81 light tank, so its combat capability is naturally stronger.

Although the three combined brigades have suffered casualties in the southward battle and are not currently fully staffed, Liu Tao still has great confidence.

They are still lethal within 5 meters, but as long as people are not standing at a certain distance from the muzzle, blank cartridges generally will not cause casualties.

Heavy equipment live-fire shooting, such as artillery coverage, tanks, fighter jets and ground attacks, are all real and use live ammunition. When conducting exercises against a fixed target or military facility, live ammunition is generally used. Because there are no personnel operating in the target area, there will not be much danger.

The troops participating in the exercise complete the exercise subjects within the prescribed time, and generally no loss of personnel or equipment will occur. This is one of the important reasons why people often say that exercises are like acting.

In order to train the troops, "test exercises" and "confrontational exercises" are often used.

Both types of exercises are "real", with live ammunition, real explosions and real soldiers, which can be summarized as "three real" exercises.
