Only after getting rid of the six thieves, eliminating the six dusts, and being free from fundamental afflictions can one set out on the journey westward.

These six thieves blocked the road, apparently intending to rob, but in fact they were giving a warning.

However, when the six thieves appeared, Xuanzang was frightened and was beaten to death one by one by Wukong.

Xuanzang didn't have time to think about it and just said some compassionate words like "When sweeping the floor, you may not hurt the lives of ants, and when covering the lamp with gauze, you may be careful about the moths."

Wukong understood nothing at all. He just felt that Xuanzang was being too long-winded. He had clearly saved his life but he still kept on nagging.

The master and his disciple jumped over the six corpses of the thieves and parted on bad terms.

It was a waste of Guanyin Bodhisattva's kind reminder.

Little did they know that because the six thieves were not completely eliminated, the journey to the west was filled with more twists and turns, and the disaster was even greater.

Tang Monk set out on his journey alone, and met Guanyin again, who gave him a cotton-padded coat and a flowery hat, and taught him the spell to tighten the hoop.
