Chapter 5 Murder and Silence

The bodies were dealt with, the blood was cleaned up, and the broken hull was repaired. Apart from some marks of knife and axe chopping on the wooden boards, there was no sign that the ship had just been through a fierce battle.

After the captain took a few trusted men to the cargo hold to inspect the cargo, he gave the order to sail with a gloomy look on his face.

Jack felt something was wrong and immediately looked towards the dock, only to see the captain and several soldiers blocking the way to get off the ship. Soldier Luo Rui was among them. He looked at Jack with a grim smile, drew the long sword from his waist, and stepped towards the cargo ship.

"Jack, even Sam can't save you now."

Just as they were about to surround Jack, Sam chased up from behind, drew his sword and blocked Jack, asking, "What do you want to do?" Rory said coldly, "Sam, this is the captain's order to kill all the pirates and men."

"Baron Dex doesn't want outsiders to know how much wealth he transported out." Rory warned, "If you want to interfere in this matter, you will not survive either."

Sam hesitated and looked back at Jack.

Jack was very carefree, "You should go! We are just casual acquaintances. You have helped me enough. There is no need to risk your life."

Sam couldn't help but laugh when he heard this, "You and he are so much alike!"

After saying that, he turned around and pointed his sword at Luo Rui, "If you want to hurt him, you can only go over my dead body."

The three soldiers were angered by Sam's attitude and immediately launched an attack. Sam was only slightly defeated by the three.

Jack sighed helplessly, drew out his rapier, and attacked the soldier on the far left. The soldier sneered, abandoned Sam, and swung his sword to cut the rapier. Jack dodged the attack and tangled with him. When the soldier attacked too hastily, he retreated; when the soldier wanted to get close to Sam, he attacked a few times and pulled him back.

Sam can have the upper hand against two soldiers, so as long as this soldier is not allowed to besiege Sam, Sam will definitely win.

Sure enough, Sam soon found an opportunity and stabbed the soldier's neck with a sword. The soldier stared in disbelief, he didn't expect that he would be killed so easily.

Rory saw the opportunity, and before Sam could draw his sword, he rushed forward and stabbed Sam in the stomach. Sam held the hilt of the sword in reverse, drew out the sword, and slashed Rory's neck. Rory slowly fell to the ground holding the wound, ending his sinful life.

The remaining soldier saw that Sam was injured, and immediately focused all his attention on dealing with Jack. Jack was no match for him and was kicked down by him. The soldier stepped forward, swung his sword to knock down the rapier, and then raised his long sword to finish Jack off.

At this time, Sam rushed over with his last bit of strength and pierced his neck with a sword. The two of them leaned together and smashed towards Jack.

Jack quickly rolled to the side to avoid the two sharp blades. He quickly got up and went to check on Sam.

"How are you?"

Sam spat out blood and had no strength to speak. "I...can't take it anymore...hurry...run...leave...leave...here..."

Sam lost all his strength, and Jack wanted to bury him, but he heard footsteps on the beach not far away, so he had to leave first.

He plunged into the forest and ran for an unknown amount of time before he leaned against a tree and fell asleep out of exhaustion.

He was woken up by someone while he was groggy. When he opened his eyes, he saw a group of soldiers surrounding him.
