Chapter 9: Ghost Immortal Secret Alchemy Method
Chapter 9: Ghost Immortal Secret Alchemy Method
Taoist Fu Guang pondered for a moment about Chu Tai's summary, then nodded and said, "You can understand it this way, but the specific division is not that simple. At the same time, this is also the ultimate that you can achieve with the Mingyue Guancun Method that you practiced before. Even in your current state, if you don't make adjustments to make your soul stronger and stronger, and eventually break free from your physical body and become independent, the fruition you can achieve is probably this level of immortality."
Hearing this, Chu Tai frowned even more tightly. He roughly understood the theoretical basis of becoming an immortal in this world. It seemed that immortality was closer to an identity, or a proof of academic achievement.
But he still couldn't understand some specific judgments about the merits of immortals, and asked again: "But in theory, those who can be called ghost immortals should be those who have achieved the Glazed Dharma Body, entered and exited the heavenly palace, and received immortal karma, or those who have been baptized by the Daluo Heavenly Light. Then why are pure and spiritual ghosts also called ghost immortals?"
"You asked a very good question, but what do you think is the difference between ghosts, pure ghosts and ghost fairies?"
Taoist Fu Guang's question made Chu Tai shake his head. He clapped his hands and said, "I didn't understand this question very well when I was learning Taoism. It was only after my teacher explained it to me that I understood the difference. Ghosts in general refer to the remnants of human souls that have lost their physical bodies, their seven spirits have dispersed, they have lost the restraints of the heavenly soul, and they have lost the records of the earthly soul. Therefore, they must not be touched by filth or kill. Once they are violated, it is easy to pollute one's own essence and turn into an evil creature from outside the Tao."
"This is also the reason why many ghosts find it difficult to attain the Tao. Compared to normal people, they need to re-condense their heavenly souls and earthly souls and sort out the relationship between their three talents. Therefore, many ghosts, after cultivating their Yin God Dharmakaya and achieving the merits of ghost immortals, will turn to cultivating earthly immortals, borrow the earth's energy, re-condense their earthly souls, and then return to heavenly immortals in order to attain the Tao. However, this cycle is many times more troublesome than the human body. This is one of the sources of the saying in many Taoist scriptures that it is difficult to obtain a human body."
At this point, Taoist Fu Guang seemed to have thought of something and became a little depressed, but he quickly recovered and continued to explain the difference to Chu Tai.
In comparison, the Qingling ghosts and ghost immortals are much better. Although the former are strong and fixed Yin spirits, people who have achieved this must have entered the immortal path and cultivated magic power. Even if they have lost their physical bodies, they are only less restrained by the heavenly soul, but most of the earthly soul records are still there, and they have magic power to rely on, so it is much easier for them to practice than the Yin ghosts. "
“Of course, compared to ordinary people, both pure ghosts and ghost immortals lack the assistance of heavenly souls. The three elements are missing, so they are more likely to suffer heavenly tribulations and rejection than ordinary practitioners. This is why they have to use people to cast spells, do good deeds, absorb human essence, and cleanse their Yin spirits to achieve the glass body.”
"However, the colored glaze Dharma body refined in this way, before being granted the Purple and Blue Documents of the Heavenly Palace and named as the Immortal Scroll, has no essential changes from the ordinary pure and spiritual ghosts. At most, it can be said to be slightly higher by half a level. The rest is just a quantitative difference. It is normal to put it together with the ghost immortals in the lowest level of merit. In the final analysis, the merits of the lower level of ghost immortals, although they have some minor skills, are difficult to ascend to the great way."
"Finally, I have a personal guess. The seniors in the past regarded this kind of achievement as the end of the ghost immortal. Maybe they also wanted to protect the general people who studied Taoism or those who just entered the immortal way. They told them that they could still achieve Taoism even if they died. This prevented some people who had the fate of becoming immortals, entered Taoism, but lost their physical bodies, from falling into the devil's way completely in order to continue practicing."
After saying this, Taoist Fu Guang also explained to Chu Tai the other kinds of immortal merits of ghost immortals.
"Unlike the lower level achievements of ghost immortals, the middle level achievements of ghost immortals are mostly achieved through corpse transformation, and they seek to transcend the Yin. Most of them have not yet achieved pure Yang, and their deities are unknown, but they have already nurtured true Qi. Even if they have lost their physical bodies, they do not need to borrow people to cast spells, and can rely on tools to travel to the human world. They are nameless in the ghost gate, nameless in the three mountains, and do not enter the cycle of reincarnation. They live freely in the human world. The secret method of splitting the spirit, splitting the body, and returning to the living that I told you about before is derived from the evolution of this kind of achievements."
"The best ghost immortals are mostly those who have achieved success in cultivation but accidentally lost their physical bodies. After death, they still work hard, or use the moon to refine their bodies, or use the sun to refine their spirits, purify their vital energy, and return to nature, so that the yin spirit can become yang, and the spirit can form a baby. They can seek the Purple Mansion True Scripture to ascend to the heaven, or return to the human world to seek immortality. With such achievements, even without a physical body, they are no different from ordinary people. If there is a chance, they can even conceive a spirit within a spirit and continue their immortal career."
"Finally, I don't know much about the highest level of ghost immortals, so I can only give you an answer based on the classics left by the predecessors. Such achievements are not available to ordinary people. One may seek the truth in the underworld and become the leader of the underworld or the emperor of the underworld, or go to the underworld to save the living beings in the underworld, or seek life from death, understand the gods, seek existence from nothingness, and seek truth from emptiness."
“Why does this highest level sound a bit like the different promotion directions of the three levels of merit of ghost immortals?” Taoist Fu Guang rarely gave an answer to Chu Tai’s question, but instead handed the question back to Chu Tai: “Maybe you will have to find the answer yourself in the future.”
After saying that, Taoist Fu Guang continued to explain the "Zhi Cao Jing" to Chu Tai, and asked Chu Tai to try to make a batch of Huo Luo Pills.
This medicine is widely circulated among the people and there are many types of it. In the "Zhicao Jing", it is recorded that after ginseng, other medicinal materials such as cinnamon twig and magnet are used.
After being made into pills, the medicinal properties are mild, the taste is bitter but then turns sweet. Taking it can cool down and remove heat, dredge the meridians, and relieve problems such as poor blood circulation. It is a basic pill used to treat problems with the flow of qi.
During the process of making medicine, Taoist Fu Guang also explained to Chu Tai in detail the medicinal properties of various medicinal materials, the specific preparation methods, as well as some secret medicines and concepts for refining elixirs.
"People who practice cultivation in the world collect spiritual herbs to make pills. Because the medicinal properties are mixed, they choose to intercept the main medicinal properties during refining, and then use other medicinal materials as auxiliary materials to refine them into pills. The medicinal properties that are not suitable are all rejected as impurities and discarded."
"But our Taiyi Jinhua Sect is different. After our founder attained enlightenment, he traveled around the country and was fortunate to hear Master Hunyuan talk about the principles of superior alchemy. From him, I learned a small method of alchemy, which is the Qiankun furnace. It emphasizes that the furnace is the Qiankun, and the medicinal properties are all living things. The heaven and earth nourish all things, and there is no waste. Those who are useless and those who are beneficial each have their own place."
"So you need to add these steps to make this Huoluo Pill to separate the mixed medicinal properties. Some of them can be used to make fertilizers to nourish the land, and some of them can be used as auxiliary materials for another pill. Of course, these methods are just the simplest separation. When you have a higher level of cultivation, you can even turn the medicinal properties you don't need into new elixirs and give back to the world."
As he spoke, dozens of magical prohibitions appeared in front of Taoist Fu Guang, forming a small alchemy furnace which he handed to Chu Tai. Recorded inside was the method of refining the elixir using the Qian Kun furnace.
Chu Tai, who was blessed with the name of "Boy", learned this knowledge very quickly. Before the evening class, he had mastered the basics of alchemy. In particular, his grasp of the medicinal properties and inspiration made Taoist Fu Guang very happy.
After evening classes, Chu Tai walked out of his room and found a secluded place to practice the "Taiyi Caiyue Method" in an effort to transfer the somewhat extreme magic power in his body towards a moderate and peaceful direction. However, when his mind was empty, he suddenly heard a slightly hurried chanting sound in his ears.
The chanting is accompanied by the sounds of wooden fish and bronze chimes, which alternate with each other, and the clear and crisp sounds echo inside and outside the Taiyi Temple.
However, Chu Tai felt that something was not right the more he listened. There was clearly a vast amount of pure power hidden in the sound of the chanting, but with the combination of the wooden fish and the bronze chimes, the slightly hurried rhythm of the chanting seemed a little inharmonious, and the power flowing inside and outside the Taoist temple seemed to be dissipating something.
Unfortunately, Chu Tai's cultivation was insufficient, and his spiritual perception was not strong enough. Even with the help of external forces, he could only sense that something was wrong, but could not find the reason. He carefully investigated the source of the chanting sound and found that it was the place where Taoist Fu Guang practiced. He had to stop exploring and go back to his room to rest.
