The Master said: "A gentleman is proud but not arrogant, and a villain is arrogant but not arrogant."

Zilu asked, "How can you be called a scholar?" The Master said, "You can be called a scholar if you are as good as you are. Friends are as good as you are, and brothers are as happy as you are."

The Master said: "A good man has taught the people for seven years, and he can become a soldier."

The Master said: "If you don't teach the people to fight, that means abandoning them."
